The song has nothing to do with the city of Jerusalem, but is based on a poem by William Blake that speculated that Jesus went to England at some point during His "missing years." Great song, at any rate.
We will meet again, Father. Upon the holy grounds of Celestial Jerusalem. Thank you for honouring me with life and for sacrificing yourself for your family. Fairwell.
This song is just one of many reasons why Bruce is one of the Greatest musicians to have graced us since the classical and romantic period of music. Truly Lovely and brilliant Thanks to Blake for the Great lyrics and poetry (Or whatever you would like to call his work).
NAAAA MICHAEL KISKE BY FAR.... MORE FANTEZI MORE COLORED VOICE IN MUCH BETTER WAYS OF VOICE WAVES BETTER ABILITIES ALMOST PERFECT AS A SINGER..... AND VERY SWEET. THEN I PREFER CHRIS OLIVA NOONE ELSE....
My Missus is quite the music snob, but Bruce's "Chemical Wedding" is her favourite album of all time. With this being a cover track its easy to see why its the best album ever - some of the guitar parts are so layered its mind blowing - its over 20 years old and still sounds fresh and brilliant!!!
People should stop saying how jerusalem isn't part of england! Does it matter? It's a song and could have other meanings behind it... Amazing song! Probably the best of his solo career! Iron Maiden weren't right without him as the singer, glad he went back.
I have recently just been listening to some Iron Maiden songs. I had no idea that Bruce had his own music! Wow, now this song is very moving and intense! Wow!!! God Bless Bruce!
A lot of sadness cause I see thatt most of you don't know that the lyrics is from genius English poet William Blake's versus Jerusalem. He meant that England is blessed land and new Jerusalem for Englishman. He means Heavenly Jerusalem. That his country England is like heaven for him.
+Dart Vader Its more about how England was a beautiful country being overtaken by Industry. A line not in this song is "And was Jerusalem builded here, Among these dark Satanic Mills?" It is commentary on the industrial revolution.
#IronMaiden I simply adore you! I've seen your concerts here at #Madrid #Spain and many of your lyrics come from the #Bible KJV! ❤I WILL NEVER FORGET THOSE TIMES! THANK YOU #IRON #MAIDEN!
heard this song only yesterday when I met a friendly guy at the bus who like metal, then we changed the cells during the travel I heard him musics, one of them was this one :) meanwhile he heard from my cell Helloween and John 5 heard it too :-) :-)
E aqueles pés em tempos passados caminharam sobre as montanhas verdes da inglaterra ? Foi o santo cordeiro de deus que foi visto sobre os pastos exuberantes da inglaterra ?
Oh gods... people, leave politics to idiots in parliaments, listen to the MUSIC, it doesn't matter which god you believe in, music like this brings you closer to heavens!
According to the Bible, Jerusalem was once the home of an ethnic group called the Jebusites, before King David conquered it. So Jerusalem has not always been a Jewish city.
