they let Bruce go was all about the money, even though Peter Criss is an amateur drummer at best, but like Bruce said they can make 40 million a year with the original band and makeup, instead of 5 million
Met Bruce at a KISS expo in 2003 in Charlotte NC.....SUPER nice & down to earth,he chatted with me for about 15 minutes, took photos,autographs....Great experience
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my fistbump from Gene, and still brag about it to this day, but actually conversing with one of your "idols," if you will, and receiving a bit of legit personal attention, like you did with Bruce, is an utterly amazing experience. Sounds like a great time!! :)
Bruce is the best all around guitar player Kiss ever had, period. Class act, humble, great player. Tommy is great as a hired hand, and Ace will always be the icon, but Bruce just seems like a regular ol guy you could talk to and jam with.
Bruce hands down he gives the best interviews out of anybody else in the band (although Eric Carr was great, too). He's the only one that sounds like a normal human being and the only one who gives you direct and meaningful answers to the actual questions he's asked. Paul and Gene are always dancing around, pontificating (aka BS'ing) and searching for the next fortune cookie sound bytes/quotes... and failing far more than they hit. Ace can be pretty darn amusing but since he's deaf and has to have everything repeated multiple times can seem cranky and impatient and you can tell he'd rather be elsewhere. Plus, he can be pretty blunt and brief giving "yes/no" one word type answers when you're looking for more (although again that kind of thing can be funny). Peter can be a little melodramatic (a little? ha!) to say the least. And Vinnie, while he keeps you on the edge of your seat, is just so out there (and even more melodramatic that Peter) that his interviews feel too surreal to take as anything other than bizarre out of this world moments in time. But with Bruce, he just answers questions directly and thoroughly. No "look at me, ma" show, just detailed descriptions of events as he sees/feels them. Exactly what most of us are looking for when we want to know more information. Such a solid player and a solid human being. Utmost respect for him.
I couldn't agree with you more, elfhermie. Well said. Bruce talks to KISS fans in the most respectful way and gives meaningful and very insightful answers to all questions he is asked about KISS and his projects outside of KISS.
Wholeheartedly agree. Bruce talks to us like he understands what it is to be a fan..a bit more grounded. Not answering with kiss-ass marketing jargon. Eric Singer has a way of coming across as arrogant and too egotistical to really connect with the fans, and people don't want to deal with that type of unattractive attitude. Great point of view.
BRUCE KULICK - from the days BLACK JACK w/ Michael Bolotin Good Rats, late 70s playing New Haven Ct / N.Y. club circuit - Class Act all the way & TALENT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF - speaking so honostly & so articulate , You just gotta apreciate a musician like this !!
I loved watching this. Bruce Kulick is such an honest, and really nice guys. I may not know him personally, just like the rest of the KISS members of the past and present, but they are all such nice and talented people.
Bruce knew his place. I love his era. it was a huge chunk of Kisstory. Hope he makes an appearance on the "End of the Road" tours. Im going to the PHX and Vegas show
I actually prefer 'Bruce Spruce' over watching Paul do his little 'run on the spot' dance and watch Gene point to invisible people and hump the air. Like Bruce said, he was just trying to play his guitar properly. haha
Bruce In My Opinion Is One The Most Underrated Guitar Legends.Wasp's #1992 Crimson Idol Proves That He Best Work Today. And Kiddos I Still Have It In Cassettem
Tommy catches hell but he's the only one who can play aces lead parts...Bruce...Vinnie...mark...just couldn't play those licks...that's why he is their man
This guy is SO underrated. He’s a brilliant guitarist and just killed it on Asylum. Ace is perfect for vintage Kiss, but Bruce does things that Ace could never do. I would have fired him for all of the lip-smacking he does, though.
