My set arrived completely destroyed. Multiple dents and cracks to the slipcase because it was shipped with no protection. In all my years of collecting, I've never received a boxset in such poor condition. The store exclusive is now out of stock, so they can't even ship a replacement. Never order directly from Arrow, folks.
Please ship your products better. Get thicker cardboard stock boxes and include way more bubble wrap. I cancelled other preorders from the store after receiving this expensive box set packaged so poorly for intenational shipping.
Same for me came all busted up and nothing wrong with letting others know how yours came damaged. Let's other people know it's just not them getting their stuff damaged.
Yep mine came damaged as well. Corner was dented on the delivery box. Opened it and found the slip cover was split down the corner. Thankfully, nothing inside was broken.
@@filmgun8642 are you keeping yours? I'm contacting them to send both back. One was for myself the other a gift. Paid too much to receive and keep damaged goods.
They shipped this out very poorly. Thin box just a smidge bigger than the set with one bad piece of bubble packing. It was a miracle I only had one small dent on one corner.
@@raisedonfiction Unacceptable. And because of that, will not order. Why even bother putting something out in nice packaging if that is how you are going to send. You clearly do not care.
@@mg-ThisHandleIsSoStupid I was pissed off when I heard that many people had received dinged copies. Thankfully mine arrived without damage, but the thin cardboard used for sending is unacceptable. Arrow should take a leaf out of, e.g., Indicator's book when it comes to sturdy packaging. Particularly so for an item costing this much money.
Same. I was tempted, but nope. For the price tag, I expect it to arrive in good condition. People have pointed out that the packaging has no damage, so the manufacturer is sending them out damaged. Not worth it.
Yea definitely pass on it for now. I like many others received a really damaged copy, and while it would've been an amazing collection, your chances of getting a damaged set seem pretty high.
@@NinjaFaceGamesI put in a preorder with Diabolik (I’m in the US), and they are waiting on more stock, as half their inventory arrived to then damaged. Hopefully it arrives sooner than later.
@@jonathanaldecoa1099 I made the mistake of buying direct from Arrow because I wanted that Limited Edition variant. Sound's like you'll be safe though if Diabolik are taking the damage seriously.
Its interesting to know that people have different interests. I personally just care about the quality of the movie, in the end the movies is the same, so would be interesting to know from someone that care about the arts and posters of the boxes, what makes it so interesting? Do you look at it everyday or stick it on your wall or something or just collect it for the fun?
@@dandan412 It is about giving it the treatment it deserves, to celebrate the legacy and have it represented. The box is beautifully designed, the choices made is interesting, i like to see the extras, behind the scenes, interviews, stories, connections and such, get extra lobbycards and posters from the past, recreations, writtings and articles. The artwork is important, keeping the history sourrounding not only the movies but also the distribution of it. These movies have their legacy but also their journey through culture and time, so my interest is rather deep and complex when it comes to movies. I am an artist and i appreciate great designs in both artwork and design of the boxes, cover and such, it goes way back to the older days of movies, mainly the eighties for myself when a lot of the movies where sold on the covers and designs alone, now there is more to it of course, but i think it is enough to explain or touch upon it.
@@dandan412The main appeal of these types of sets is the supplementary book with essays and behind the scenes writing which disappear for the "standard" releases down the line. The fancy box/art/poster etc is just a nice little bonus, but it's the substance of the additional book which is the main selling point, for me anyway...
Arrow needs to up their game with shipping. The damage on these due to careless packaging is disappointing!!! But they probably do not care considering this stuff will sell out regardless.
@@crossbro9911stop blaming arrow for your problems. They are not involved with the packaging at all because it's based on a 3rd party post. Show some respect. If Arrow wasn't there this Bruce Lee boxset wouldn't exist at all!!
@@sugar2794 Arrow don't outsource their packaging to another smaller company though, otherwise you might have a point. The Hut Group aren't just a "third party". The Hut Group literally OWN Arrow. Arrow aren't innocent in this because Arrow were the ones who chose to sell out. They sold their souls to the devils of a faceless conglomerate for a quick buck rather than remaining independent and offering a boutique service to rival that of their UK competitors. It's pure greed on Arrow's part. Greed and laziness. They'd make less money if they were independent and had to hand-wrap and post all their orders themselves (like Second Sight do for example), but on the flipside their reputation wouldn't be taking the hits it is now and they'd have more satisfied thus loyal long term customers. And let's not beat around the bush here. This is Arrow we're talking about. This isn't some struggling upstart who isn't able to maintain producing and distribution under one roof and has no choice but to accept the offer from a larger company. They must be turning over more money than 99% of the other UK boutiques. Who else do you think is as prolific as they are? I can't imagine anyone comes close? I don't believe for a second that Arrow simply had to accept the offer from The Hut Group. They deserve all the stick they're getting under this post.
I have seen many videos of these arriving damaged. Shipped in a thin box with 0 bubble wrap. Wtf???. I'm waiting on Diabolik dvd to get more copies. I will order from them. Come on Arrow.......
@@jasonellis9550 I can't speak for the US but in the UK, anything you order "directly from Arrow" isn't really coming from Arrow at all, it's coming from The Hut Group, who are an Amazon-lite conglomerate that sell everything from Arrow blu-rays to protein powder. If you order "directly from Arrow", you're not getting a boutique service where someone who works for Arrow packages your items properly with the knowledge that the customer is a collecter, you're getting a corporate warehouse service where a line-worker sees your expensive boxset as just another product to sling into a box, no different to the nutritional supplements they packaged 2 minutes prior. Never buy "directly from Arrow".
@@jasonellis9550my copy from Diabolik is still on back order. I’m going to be patient and wait for more stock. They are offering a $12 in store credit, but for this amount of money, I want box to be in good condition.
@@movieman1556 Arrow is a UK based company that mostly releases their titles from there but sometimes have titles that are region free such as this one. They released two separate versions of this title. The first was a Game Of Death yellow color exclusive packaging for pre-order customers and a second run of red colored packaging as a standard release. Both are stellar and it sickens me to see just how much The US still doesn't care enough about our Champion that we get outdone by The UK with such a beautiful masterpiece of a release like this. If they had the rights to Enter The Dragon we could have had a stellar 4K copy added with it like we've never seen even better than the one Warner just released.
Such a shame Arrow couldn’t be bothered to send these out with a tracking number or correctly packaged. The premium price paid for this box should have meant decent packaging was used rather than two air back as a 2mm thick cheap cardboard box.
0:07 Fortune Star Media Limited and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment through Studio Distribution Services, LLC under licensed this Bruce Lee at Golden Harvest 4KUHD Blu-ray box set.
Wish mine looked like that. Instead it looks like you guys kicked it around the football field before shipping, like many others. You guys used to be my favorite blu-ray distributor too, but after they way you've fumbled this release I have to say I feel extremely dissapointed and betrayed.
Same as a lot of other people’s mine arrived bashed to hell, sent it back over a week ago and still waiting to hear from Arrow about a replacement but may have to kiss goodbye to owning this if they are going to start offering a dinged up replacement. Item at the price they are charging I expect it to turn up in perfect condition, it’s ridiculous for the money Arrow thought they’ve saved on packaging by sending this box set out in a paper thin box with little to no protection has ended with them being flooded with returns and complaints, bad reviews and an even bigger cost and hassle to get replacements out, sort it out Arrow! 😡
I have the Criterion collection as well, for a casual Bruce Lee fan it’s not at all a bad set. I’ve been geeking out to Bruce, since the VHS era. This set is bonkers, when it comes to the extras and the packaging is far superior (aside from the company doing the packaging), than any set put out previously.
Got my two copies through international shipping coming in a thin cardboard box with no protection. Both are all tore up. Edges beat in beyond just a little where one can't just overlook and the cases on the inside are busting through the top cover causing a tear much like you saw with a lot of the John wick steelbook trilogy book sets from best buy. Unacceptable for the amount of money these cost. *Update* reached out to arrow customer "service" and they want you the customer to pay return shipping because they say they can't provide prepaid return labels.
@@ScoobyDigites Are you in a back-and-forth with their conveyer belt of African customer service workers via the 'message' system? Or have you managed to get through to a live-chat operator? If you can get through on live-chat you'll have a much easier time, but it's rarely available in my experience. Good luck either way, you're going to need it!
Mine arrived directly from Arrow with one corner damaged. Packaging was flimsy and cheap. I contacted Arrow for replacement but this boxset was sold out. Arrow put effort in producing this boxset and charged £120 +£3.95 for postage but cut corners with cheap packaging. Very disappointed .will cancel all my other preorders from Arrow.
Funny they just told me to return it and they’ll replace it for me. Shit still sucks nonetheless especially from a person from the US so I even had to spend more for shipping and more time on waiting ugh
4K discs are all region free (with a couple of exceptions, IIRC from Shout Factory some years ago), so you'll be OK there. The blu-rays in the set are Region B locked though.
@@MartialMadness Ah, Enter the Dragon is a Warners disc, which probably explains that one. But Arrow only have rights for Region B to the other material. The 4Ks are region free by default. Find yourself a region B player or invest in a multi-region one. The world will then be your lobster.
I kinda was disappointed that the sides of the box turned out to be black rather then yellow like in the preview images seen. Due to that I ordered the standard artwork, anyways just love for all the effort that got into this heavenly boxset
i saw this version late 80s on vhs , already then it was circulating......the cut i saw also prolly had keyhole scene altho i cannot recall a saw scene in it
It's a mix. The principal features are all 4K (excepting Enter The Dragon, as Warners would only allow them to use the old 40th anniversary blu-ray), but the supporting material is standard blu-ray.
What was the point of pre-ordering in April if there is none to go around !!! I got three emails from Arrow UK that they have not shipped it out , It still hasn't gone out and they apologize but they still haven't shipped it out and will get on the problem as to why they haven't shipped it out !!!! The problem is the shippers sent out boxed sets to the UK customers first and they got damaged so the UK customers returned them to get replacements !!! So what to do with all the returned damaged yellow boxed sets ? Why just send them out to all the international customers because it would be too much trouble and too expensive to return the already damaged yellow boxed sets back to Arrow UK !!! So now a lot of unhappy International Customers are stuck with the previously damaged yellow boxed sets because it is sold out !!!! I know the Arrow UK M.O. !!!
@@ShanghaiRoosterI purchased a region free blu ray player just for this set (haven’t upgraded to 4K yet), even though I have the Criterion set. The extras on this set are too good to pass up. I should have gotten a region free player sooner. There’s so much 88 and Eureka releases that I’m looking forward to get now.
Orbitdvd diabolik and other retailers have gotten the red tops damaged too which is why you might be able to catch them being sold at a slightly lower damaged set price. Arrow still has not made a statement about it and many people who've returned their yellow top sets back to arrow as "customer service" instructed haven't been refunded.
