I stumbles on ur videos by way of another sight I was on....n my brother being an avid jk student I've always been interested in both jkd and wing Chung..ive found ur videos to b the best I've seen so far n jave been studying them for a month or so..as a 40 yr old active skateboarder,I've found ways to adapt both to each other as far as footwork...i will continue to watch these videos and practice the techniques..keep up the awesome work, n also the way you explain the combos n training are the most informative so far..much respect to you n ur instructors for bringing such videos to the public and for keeping Bruce's fighting style and philosophy alive Igor all to learn..nothing but love n respect for all of you guys.
I love your videos. Your emphasis on going SLOWLY and taking the time to point out the mechanics rather than just show-boating. I hope you keep making these. I watch them nearly every day.
Keeping an accurate account of what JKD is about is so important. There are a lot of martial arts videos that are plain bad not worth the time of day. This is the second of yours I’ve seen and I see you come from a good place, using 45 degree angle not only for protecting yourself but using leverage, using their energy against them. This video is about immobilization yet you’re showing the importance of thinking ahead as to what to do afterword because the fighting doesn’t stop with immobilization. thanks for caring enough to share. Much respect.
I have just discovered jeet kune do, a few months ago. I now train 4 times a week. it changed all my attitude in the positive sense.I love it and will never stop. you vidios also help me on my way , thanks Mario from belgium
One of my favorite videos! Simply because you Express your passion and explain why you share this info and techniques so freely. So, let's see if you truly do reply to all comments! I'm fresh to JKD. There are no instructors near me and no Wing Chun (specifically) instructors near me. I LOVE the philosophy of JKD and have applied a couple of these techniques to my martial arts already. The Tao of JKD from the Bruce Lee Foundation is currently being shipped to me. Do you recommend any books I read in addition? Also, a wooden dummy is in my near future! I need techniques for that as well!
I'm a huge fan of Bruce Lee. Since I was a kid he has always been my number 1. I haven't known anyone else. Until ip man movie I've Bruce Lee's fighting style and love wing chun. And jeet kune do. I appreciate your videos and the training tips. I'm still at first form sil lum tao. But your videos help me out a lot personally. I thank you for your time and your students that help to show this is not easy as some may look. But great video. Looking forward to part3 of HIA . Keep up the great work all of you. 😎😎😎😎😎👏👏👏👏
Personally, I really enjoy and learn a lot from your JKD/WC videos, they're how I found you. It's a shame you even have to explain why you do them (seriously, why don't people understand they don't have to watch something they're not interested in? Make better use of your time than trolling, lol). I'm enjoying your non-martial arts videos now also. Much respect to you, Dan. You have a good attitude and work with a good crew!
I think my body suit with JKD, than any other martial art technique. what i love from JKD is : Power, speed, effectivesness, not to much style but deadly-effective. this is the simplest way to defending ourselves with martial arts. And the Good thing is... Dan lok give us the easiest way to learn, its so simple, effective, and easy to understand and applied.. Im also think, that bussiness should be this way too.. GBU Dan. Thanks
that was my comment for JKD foot work. But, then after i finished watching this video, you also say that your bussines philosophy some are from martial art philoshophy. wow.. thats great haha...
truly enjoy seeing someone who lives in the martial spirit... in my insignificant opinion, you are representing well... for you to mention that the art does not begin when you walk into a dojo or conflict, but extends in to all aspects of life is inspiring... thank you for your time and sharing.
Ironic, I found you looking specifically for martial arts training in wing chun/jkd and was immediately hooked by your knowledge, insight and application of Bruces technique(s). Keep making great informative videos no matter thier context Dan, your doing good work
at last I, hear the reason for your sharings sir! Im currently practicing FMA here in PH, but i like to check your videos all the time, practicality is superb!
Thank you so much sir I,m learning JKD technic from watching ur video, as u say there r lot of video in u tube but I found ur video best of them ur speed is very good. ur business video also very impressive and helpful. I'm from India
Hi Dan, love the JKD videos. I've never been interested in the business aspect, only in tactile arts, working wood stone and metal and how martial art philosophy can relate to these. Thanks for sharing, it's much appreciated.
Hey Mr.Dan I am big fan of Master lee and I am realy very thankful for all your work , that you do preserve this great technique of martial art ..... ..... hats of to you Mr.Dan👍
Good. You show something of your speed here and you use your strong upper torso to your advantage. Like your back fist. I did not have the opportunity to study wing chun, but I did catch some of its basic principles. My strategy and training was always to deflect the opponent's arm positions or attacks through very subtle deflections which when applied at the right spot, with little energy, completely throws off the opponents line of attack. This works well when one is not as strong on the topside. But it requires very good footwork, balance. Thanks.
THANKS sufu for you teachings and I m glad of your respect of bruce lee and ted wong.. thank to share your passion with us please keep on making jkd's video I hope that. respect!
Dan, I completely agree with you that JKD is misrepresented online. I've been studying Bruce Lee for about six months and been in official JKD lessons for three months with an exceptionally great Sifu who trained extensively under Jerry Poteet. Preservation of the real JKD is very important, these videos are great in helping with that goal. Keep up the awesome work!
Hi Dan. Thank you for all the videos. I'm making my way through your entire catalog. I look forward to shaking your hand and giving thanks to you at one your seminar. I have been studying martial arts since I was a teenager. I got bullied as well. Bruce Lee has been such a source of I inspiration for me as well. You are likely aware of him and may well have trained with him. But just in case there is a teacher in the Vancouver area by the name of Adam Chan founder of Pragmatic Martial Arts. In my opinion he is one of the world's best martial artists as well as excellent teacher. To top it all off he is a excellent human being. If you haven't already I suggest you look into him. He also has Bruce Lee ties in that he has trained some with Jesse Glover. Ed Hart and Steve Smith. Thanks once again. Good luck in your endeavors.
Miyamoto Musashi talked about the five ways of attack too (in he's way), you can see two genius (Miyamoto Musashi and Bruce Lee) knowing and mastering similar concepts.
Hello Dan! Thank you for videos. I have a request. Can you make a video where you show how to anticipate an attack to the chest and abdomen and how to counterattack. Thanks so much!
Close the gap by stepping forward and outside of opponent. Twist your hips and torso when stepping in and twist inside the opponent.(like you want to slide the punch on your torso). You can use that dodge movement also for any front kicks or side kicks. Also when you twist you can use that that twist power with your front arm to intercept opponent arm or leg. With arm you want to swing through your chest, and impact what's in front of it. First train with your arms down and relaxed, you will notice natural movement of them as you do very quick twist of torso. Don't step to much outside. Most likely you would turn your opponent with that and by that making him easy for a quick takedown. Combinations of what you can do after dodging like this are unlimited. Be fluid, be creative, be water my friend
very good why you are doing it. plz continiue still in 2019. dont stop with it. its important and interesting. follow still your passion. no matter what.
