Today he’d be fighting against the juicers, steroid users and growth hormone abusers. The cheaters are what competes today.....most of them. Lee was all natural......a very rare thing to witness today is the all natural athlete.
Far from perfect Lee used to complain to friends that he wished he could put on more muscle weight. He had a natural ectomorphic build. No one will hear of this today however because all of the lies have catapulted a really good martial artist and action star into a fighting God....How stupd
@@johnbulcaster7464 what the hell are you talking about? Bruce had a incredible physique, that is undeniable . You try to do some of the things he did. Show me another actor, or MMA fighters in the same weight class, has that kind of physical forms and focus? What lies are you alluded to, what’s your evidence to substantiate your bs talking points. Putting on muscles doesn’t mean getting bulk. Ectomorphic, mesomorphic, or endomorphic, Bruce understood that. Bruce’s intense training regimen was about strength, speed, and agility, not body building. His training and discipline put today’s fitness hype to shame. I would say that close to perfection.
He certainly changed the action star genre radically... Prior to him you had figures like John Wayne and Clint Eastwood and all the actors in all the army grunt moves of the 40's, 50's, and 60's throwing haymakers and carrying six shooters. He was a radical change from all that, he brought a "ripped" physique, incredible torturous training regimen, and pure speed and precise form to the action star genre. Every single ripped action star you see today began with him.
@Panty Sniffer yeh that was the Jun Fan era, with the Jeet Kune Do era he was striving to free himself from style,so that in reality JKD is above the concept of style

@@hungkiet7535 - BC Bruce Lee was cursed by God bc he was an atheist. And he did all he could to conceal that he was not 100% Chinese to the American public. Bruce was run out of Southern China bc of that fact alone by the 8th street Junction tigers who were triad's children that did not play. (Bruce even said it on an interview) They even told by the HK police to tell Bruce father if they saw him again on the streets of HK they were going to bet him to death. They immediately sent him to America the next day. No sooner than he got here a triad/tong was ent to him and bet his butt for trying to steal IP family art form Wing Chun. He was ran out of Southern China after he learned 2 years of kung-fu, a 3year course. (and he never learned anything else to completion. Everything he did was for show and a buck) Prior to that, and the reason why he took up self-defense (wing chun is known 'qick road of self-defense) is bc he got his butt kicked from 12-16. Bottomline, Bruce wanted to be admired as a movie star in life. He did 20 productions (most as a rebellious kid he never grew out of) as a kid from 6-12 years old. When he got to Hollywood and made more money in one job than he had made for the whole 6 years of his childhood stardom (he was given $100 bucks by his parents after 6 years of work) the 'bug' bite him again. He was a child star who did not want to grow up. But he learned to fight but couldn't beat anyone. Had he did tournament fighting karate men would have beat him down with their kicks. But Harvest Studios is doing the same thing with Yip Man series that they did with Bruce. They are doing the same thing with the Yip Man movies. The guy that plays Yip Man doesn't even know wing chun less more martial arts. Bruce Lee did not know martial arts and was banned from anyone who knew it to teach him. That is why the only place for him to go was karate. Anyway its in da' book "What (really) happened is still no gung-fu in Hollywood. They all pattern after Bruce Lee as phony martial artists, and don't even know it. They think karate is martial arts to Jun Fun Li?".
The greatest martial artist ever! Pure perfection in every sense of the word. Truly gifted with athleticism that will never be matched nor duplicated. I truly wish he was alive today. Rest In Peace and in POWER to the honorable Bruce Lee!
“#1 Most influential martial arts film star” is more like it. Don’t say “#1 martial artist in the world” because people will attack you and attempt to debate you for no reason

For you youngsters who don’t know, everyone wanted to be like Bruce. Like the 80s every kids wanted to be like MJ. Bruce’s influence on martial arts and physical fitness were huge decades before the internet and social media.
I compare him to The Beatles when they first landed in America, there was nothing else like them, nobody sounded or looked like them, they were many generations ahead of anyone making music at the time, and Bruce Lee was certainly their equal in his field.

Bruce's workout regiment was insane. He put heavy emphasis on core training, agility, endurance, speed and strength (pretty much all MMA fighters aim for today). Bruce did incorporate weight training into his routine, but never concerned with bulking up. Bruce maintained world class BMI and body fat for his weight and height. He pushed the limits of the human body capabilties. Bruce's philosophy was that you must train every inch of your body, so when you want to use it, it becomes automatic (body and mind connection). His focus was intense and unparalleled. This was 50 years ago. So ahead of his time even by today's standard of fitness.
@@DeanAdventure yes. He didn’t want to bulk up. He wanted strength, speed, flexibility, . Bulking up like bodybuilding was not Bruce’s training purpose.
Bruce was too light even for his height. The reason why alot of people don't respect him is because he was so skinny and it's easy to look muscular when you're that skinny, there's so many people out there who are way more muscular even though they're much heavier bruce was not that impressive

He was the very first prototypical "ripped" action star. Not as much was known about exercise and nutrition back then, but he was the first action star to put it all together. Every "ripped" person you see today began with him. Prior to him you had stars like John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, gun toting one-punch haymaker type figures, he brought precision and ultimate physique to the action star role.
Mr Lee was brilliant and graceful, beyond a Grandmaster,Rest in peace and be like water my friend. What you could have taught the world will only be known by what you tried to teach us.

It's hard to read comments about him being an actor only and not a martial artist/fighter because he didn't fight "competitively". These are the same people who watch MMA. Firstly there was no MMA then and one can argue Lee was the founder of MMA. Secondly he trained Martial Arts champions and created Jeet Kune Do, a martial art. He used his acting career to showcase his art and philosophy as well. To those that believe he wasn't a "fighter" doesn't know anything about the man.
