First time Bruce Springsteen played the song If I was a Priest in Europe. It happened in the first European gig / show in Europa at May 5th in 2024 in Cardiff / Wales. The song was not printed on the setlist this evening.
What a brilliant gig! My first Bruce Springsteen gig and hopefully not the last! Still on a high. Every song was incredible and what a performance from the band. 3 hours non stop playing - not even leaving the stage for a second!
Welcome to the Tramps. I've only seen them 44 times and every one was a wonderment. Seen him in Barcelona, too, where the crowds are amazing! There is magic in the night!
wonderful to hear...saw him in Vienna last year and it was 'so so' (for him) so I'm happy he's mixing up his playlist...seeing him in Vancouver in November. glad his tummy is better!
How can you expect him to remember every song that he has performed in his concerts. Even an elephant couldn’t. Does it matter anyway, it’s a good song, well performed.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Would have loved to have seen you again my friend - I enjoyed the BEST night last night, and hope you did also - I’ll be at Belfast from Tuesday, not sure if you are also? - cheers, Sam.
Maybe he inadvertently omitted “in Europe”. Maybe it was a genuine mistake. Maybe it was hyperbole. I don’t care. I’ve learnt to forgive him far worse crimes (the lyrics are correct, but the title should be ‘If I Were…’) - and will continue to do so for performances like this. Privileged to have been there.
Another valuable contribution to a comment thread. Do you make an effort to look for stuff you don’t like so you can insert yourself into the comments?
@nickrizzi4927 I loved him years ago when born to run came out but his voice is shot to bits and I don't like his politics. Saw in 76 and 95 should have left it at that .
@@terryhenderson9097 seen him all over east coast USA maybe 18 times. My last was due to many reasons. Will never forget it. Tom/Joad acoustic show at Constitution Hall D.C. With my beloved, now departed, buddy. He did that album and a few new tracks from the contemporaneous Greatest Hits release. I retired myself from live performances!
Nice video - you got a better view than I expected - it was such a fantastic gig ( Bruce seemed really on it!) It was lovely to meet you in the pit queue after last years Vill gig ❤️
So how do they do it? I know that the lyrics can be brought up on autocue and that these guys are all experts but are they really just winging it? Or is it that rock music, especially in a stadium, has such a wide margin of error that they can just basically busk, provided they know the key and tempo? But that doesn't account for how well the lighting fits the mood of the song.
