03:19: When The BOSS said "pick up those horns boys", it only took a nano-second for that dude in the white t-shirt to grab his trumpet and start playing. When The BOSS gives you an order to pick up your horn, goddammit - you pick up your horn ... and you do it fast. Well done sir. On point! Epic performance.
What? I am just seeing this tonight. I cannot imagine hanging out at a bar on the Jersey shore (which I do every summer) and this happening. I’ve been a Bruce fan for 40 years...this would definitely be the pinnacle.
I’ve just recently rediscovered Bruce’s music. I’ve been loving RU-vid and just found this a week or so ago. It’s hard to believe that this is from 20 years ago. What a lucky group of partygoers! The Boss is brilliant and now an icon for our generation and for the ages. Hopefully he’s not ready to hang up the mic yet.
Love how Brucie is dressed like a Jersey hobo, Philly hoboes are a bit more natty - not so farmish, but check out the HONKIN' gold chain around his neck! Yeh, a Jersey hobo fer sure. LOL This used to be my favorite song before Streets of Philadelphia. Am a Jersey girl born in Philly of course.
First time I got drunk was with your cousin Sean at your uncle joe's house. We were like 17. Joe Scialfi and my dad lived in the same neighborhood when they were kids in Jersey.
Brian, I am so thrilled you got to sing and play with your idol and mine. I'm sure you will treasure this video and memory for the rest of your natural life. Thank God someone captured it for posterity! Rich from Philly
So glad I WASN'T there-I'd would have been so annoyed with the people talking and screaming instead of listening to Bruce Springsteen SINGING, I would have lost my mind!
