A great catchup with Big Country guitarist and founding member Bruce Watson on surviving as a musician through the pandemic, the WKW project, the recently re-discovered Robin Millar Mix of The Seer, Restless Natives - The Musical, the 40th Anniversary of The Crossing, the forthcoming Big Country book and documentary, when the band plans to return to Australia and much more.
We're also joined by Tom Kercheval, founder of the incredible Big Country podcast, The Great Divide.

Fantastic interview. Really intrigued about the possibility that the NY Pier concert could maybe form part of a RM Seer release. Exciting times

Thanks Dwayne (and Tom and Bruce). Great episode, well timed and so cool to get updates. ‘It’s just one of those songs, you can’t edit it’ is the quote of the episode!

Scott Rowley did good magazine articles on Adamson/BC about 6 years ago, so it may be good that he's attempting a book. The Allan Glenn book was as shallow as a polaroid. BC comes & goes as a band I might like to listen to, & the three pointless, but "I wanna know", Qs for me are: 1) Heart of the World: it sounded like an update on the band's 80s sound (yet it was left off GH) & a year later, "Beat the Devil" (BC sounding like a drunken blues-rock band): how did it happen (a polar opposite/seismic change in 90/91?) & why was Ahern, as per a cassette I had, the drummer on NPLH but the later CD said he was not? 2) Tattoo (formed 1973): as per an Adamson site, he said he disbanded the band in 1976 because he was no longer into Rory Gallagher (who did an album Tattoo in 1973), the original "check-shirt wizard" guitar player, but did Stuart really play/like Rory's stuff then? 3) is it true that the guitar on Into the Valley was a session player, not Stuart, or who did what, removing Stuart, on that first LP,. Hmmm.

Superb ! Did I misunderstand Bruce, or did he talk about "recording with Big Country" early in the podcast ?? ie one or two new songs ?

@@ShaneARichards I am near Exeter in the West Tamar. I had In A Big Country and Wonderland on a home made mixtape (recorded off the radio) but my first BC album was The Seer, so that one has a special place in my heart.
