About three years ago you inspired me to take my music seriously. Since your last video came out, I finished school, have been practising for four hours a day, moved to a different country and am currently playing as much as possible to try to make music my full-time career. Just wanted to say thanks.
What I like about Marta is that she doesn't try to play technically difficult stuff for the sake of it, like some others on RU-vid. She plays the music she loves and you can see and hear the passion, in her playing. Never stop playing Marta, your videos are great.
@@lorencaulum5344 I'm not sure she plays anymore - she kind of disappeared. I did see rumours she got married and moved to the UK. Shame we don't get new vids from her but hey ho, if she's happy in her life without being a pro bass player, good luck to her.
ahahahahahha -- playing technically difficult chit - is by far the best way to learn How to play not only fast - it helps one learn how to play more correctly after learning how to deal with fast adjustments - it is by far the best way to play and learn in private - so some do it in public - and makes mistakes - who the fart cares - ahahahaha - they are practicing in public for better public skills of recovery after screwing up with less embarrassments - any teacher would teach that - teachers who know what they are doing at least - and one of the better ways to learn how to learn better - is to get altered - half drunk maybe - drunk and Jam - as time goes by - it would help with straight playing very much so - altered states is one of the better ways for adjustments in skill sets - to relax and just play music for music sake - instead of playing for people -- which is a bit of a joke - and of course it will help with remembering where the chords are at - when half asleep or altered or having brain farts while looking at people in the audience - a REAL expert -- has made as many mistakes- as a professional has ever played - thats the reason for practicing at least 3 hours each and every day -- altered and straight -- in a few more years - she will even start to play outside the box sor-ta-speakin - and her movements will become habits - instead of just efforts - which of course makes for a more professional effort and sound - if these guidelines are not followed - it will take a decade for what should only takes a few years -- and she is already getting good for a beginner -- ahahahaha -- and most young people believe they are already good at whatever they do -- which makes for less practicing and skill sets learning - which causes learning to be delayed -- yu know how many bass players there are on boobtube alone -- the market only needs players who can play completely out of the box stuff - sor-ta-speakin - just read some of Robert plants or Van Halen's or stanley clark's comments on the subject - just saying -- ✌
Marta, I know these are older videos. But, I still watch at least one a day! The talent is amazing and the way you wrinkle your nose and smile just shows me how much you just love what you do! You make my day lighter, and you are breathtaking.
Martin Williams EXACTLY. That's what makes Marta especially a joy to watch. You can tell she's having fun and enjoying the music she's playing. Just look at that smile.
In all of these vids she plays the parts perfectly. Effortlessly. Just a musician playing with pure joy-I bet she will love it just as much the 1000th time she plays it! As a musician myself the facial expressions tell the entire tale! This is a perfect example of what RU-vid is for. Well done well done! LOVE it!!👍😀

I have worked in the music business for decades - but you are reminding me just how creative and important bass parts are to many of the productions we love so much. Marta, you are playing on the bass guitar with so much joy, enthusiasm and passion that it takes really (not only my) breath aeay. You deserve to play in a real good band and make live performances. Bass players look like they have most fun than anybody else in the bands. They are groovy...If you pay attention to her facial expression you can tell that is enjoying it.

I would like to add one point that I don't think nobody has pointed out. She does/did superb PR for Stingray basses! For me bass is 3rd or 4th instrument… but boy would I love to have a Stingray bass after listening & watching to these videos by Marta and trying to play and sound even nearly as good as she did!!! For herself, hitting the tone, the exact speed, the perfection that is needed to perform a song right!!! I can feel that this is important to her and not to be famous, being looking up to her by others......
