My family is from Alabama and my uncle would make a huge pot and share with everyone. Back in the day my family used a hog head as the pork and that's what we've always called it Hog head stew! Now I know the true name and will be making it for my family, we haven't had it since my uncle passed a couple years ago! Thanks for sharing!!
I grew up on that hog head stew also. When I started cooking it, I used a Boston butt! That hog head (with 'dem teefs') wasn't appealing. 😂😭 But the older I get, I'm starting to crave a lil more slime. I started adding pig ears to that butt. It's good.

Great video of a Great Brunswick Stew, I know that has to be delicious. My Grandfather and Grandmother used to make Brunswick Stew and it was fantastic and yours looks like what they cooked and the ingredients you used were almost identical. They made a large cast iron wash pot full and they would can a lot of it in quart jars. When my Father was in the Marines during WWII in the Pacific they canned it in metal cans so they could mail it to him and of course he shared it with his brothers. G Rich, you threw down on that Brunswick stew, I remember days in the country when my grandparents made it outside in a big black pot with chicken, pork and beef. They would put in all kinds of veggies and seasonings and have fresh made cornbread. It was so good, you have inspired me and hubby to tr y to make it. You should be very proud to serve it to your fam.

Never knew I was making Brunswick stew, I add all that you used plus cabbage and okra. I am finishing some now, I used smoked pork neck bones and smoked ham hocks as my meat. We make huge pots of this stew in the cold winter months.

I have been watching Brunswick stew recipes tonight just trying to see if there is anything that can spice up my already tasty Brunswick stew. I'm noticing that noone uses lemon juice and everyone uses cream corn. I gotta have that lemon and that cream corn can stay where it's at. Yours looks delicious

Lordie. That is some good looking Brunswick stew. When the churches where I grew up raised money with Barbeque they always had chicken bog and Brunswick stew. I have even had rabbit Brunswick stew lol. I grew up in the SC low country
Whoa! I’m with you G on a couple of things in this episode. First...I’ve heard of BRUNSWICK stew but never made or tried it either. Second... I don’t like cream of corn 🌽 either but I knew once you mixed it in altogether it was gonna be fire 🔥 I love how you put your spin on it and made it your own. The best part for me was as you were naming your ingredients I got all of them right from watching your style of cooking LoL 😂 Even down to the Louisiana hot 🥵 sauce LoL 😝 The weather is in the 40’s here today but with those wind gusts 💨 I’m right there with you in the 30’s.
