wow dead out of the box! motor is still good if your looking for a cheap motor ill leave the link. www.amazon.ca/... support the channel gofund.me/cacb... join my Discord / discord ebikes.ca ebikes.ca/
I just installed a 3000w Vevor kit and need to reduce the torque and speed. I have a 3 speed attached and it doesn’t reduce the speed half as much I need. You seem well educated on these and I was wondering if you know of something I could use to reduce speed even more. I also tried a Potentiometer and that didn’t do much either.

Doubt the controller is dead , you need to activate it , one of those connectors will be the on switch wire, if no joy, open it up, look for vcc conection.
You forget to connect the vcc with the plus of battery ...the vcc cable com wthe orange or red color ...you shood to link it with battery plus it's for contact key ..thanks
unit came without key. motor and controller only. there is no single red vcc wire to setup. its not a true 2k controller anyway. if anything below 1k. i will go over the controller set it up working in case anyone was the same problem. I'm sure it would work if it came with the ignition set.
what batterys and sprocket are you using to for the 1800w motor. i recently bought a 1800w motor but i have a budget and i cant find any batterys that would work for under $400 please help
Got the same Kit from amazon , NO 3 SPEED SWITCH , NO ANTI THEFT , JUST THE CONTROL UNIT THROTLE with key. Plugged it in and NOTHING ... Dud like a firework with no powder , no lights or nothing
Between these vevor and the other 48v 750w motor that's often sold with a controller and a sprocket, which one do you think makes more sense for a trike scooter with 2 rear wheels driven by 2 motors? This 48v 2000w draws 32a each, wherehas the 750w draws 15a, which is usually easier on the battery. Once I add the rear gears and chains, it will reduce the speed by 1/5 and also increase quite a bit of torque. The problem is I have to wire for reverse rotation for one of the motors to match forward rotation, but I heard that when reversing polarity the motors will not match rpm/torque spec, is this true? Oh, that gear is T8F for some sort of go cart or whatever.... it uses 8/10mm double D shaft bore.
I have the same motor and controller. Was working. Now when from standstill sounds like the motor making lots of clunky noise I can here struggling and when I get some speed its normal. After each take off this takes longer for it to go normal. Feels like a turbo kicks in. From cold the takes off fine with no signs of problem. When it was good the acceleration was smooth or linear. Is it the motor or controller? How can I tell if is in good working order? Thanks.
Gidday from Australia, I see your power supply on the bench do you bench test these motors and controllers with the bench power supply? I read somewhere there are limitations or risk of damage to the supply when running dc motors.?
@karmaEbikes. I have a nice 60v 24A supply but don't want to cook it apparently in some cases you should only run dc motor at 25% max output of the power supply? As an example i should only run 6A into a dc motor with my 24A supply I should try find the info again I think it was RD Tech article just not sure if it was about running brushed motor directly from the supply due to feedback or if the brushless controller on this would behave differently and negate the issue entirely
I'm actually looking at buying that motor. But from the company it's self with a throttle. Plan to put it on a moped my son trash picked. I'm a complete noob, so I'm a little lost on what components to buy. Would this motor work with lead acid batteries?
Umm yeah the electric lock is the keyed ignition you can loop them together or use a throttle with key. You have to turn on the controller with the electric lock. Silly people falling for his bs.
Thanks for sharing. I'm very much interested in how you mount and connect the motor as I have a Solidworks enclosed velo trike designed I was considering that motor for. Might you be planning an intermediate reduction or possibly using a large drive sprocket? I have some ideas for a simple chain or clogged reduction drive, and could lay something up in Solid-works that could inexpensively laser cut and bolted together if you have some interest? Thanks.
@@karmaEbikes. When I did some calcs with that 2000w/ 4800 rpm motor on a 26" bicycle tire, a # 420 9-tooth motor sprocket and an 88 tooth rear sprocket should give about 40mph at 4800rpm. Of course a 2:1 intermediate drive would give you the same rear final drive with a more reasonable sized 44-tooth rear sprocket, but such an arraignment with only a 9-tooth motor sprocket would be direct drive. About the smallest freewheel clutch I'm seeing is 14 tooth so that was bringing me back to an intermediate reduction drive. Another option might be to drive the crank set with a secondary chain.. Something like a 3:1 reduction drive with a 9-tooth output chain sprocket to drive the derailleur chain was what I was looking at f or the Velo-trike design in order to be able to use the derailleur gearing for a bit more toque and speed bur I do prefer the idea of a separate motorcycle chain
I had the same problem like you as the motor did not work. However, I did what the other guys suggested with splicing the on/off wires directly (since I don't have a switch yet), and the motor worked fine. The speed controller worked fine.
I got a controller from vevor in a kit and there is a plug called eletric lock (that's what it said on my controller) you need to attach the two pins to gether with a wire and that should work
need some help! when i turn my ignition on wheel just srarts spinning> but when i fide it it sounds like its locking up ???? ive played with hall sensors but only does reverse and still cant find any info ?
