@Theatre of Flesh comparing bands in such a way is valid. If I got it right, DH BA was a heartful, original show with the same energy as 30 years ago, whereas some (not all of course) young "super tech" bands hide behind their technical knowledge and perform miserable, soulless acts. This is my interpretation. Maybe I'm wrong.
@Theatre of Flesh I advise you read my comment again and you'll hopefully realize my comparison had nothing to do with your assumption, nor the original comment imho.
Yo a mis 40 sigo escuchando metal del viejo porque las nuevas bandas son una BASURA con todas sus letras ninguna me llena el oído de buena música como las clásicas.
What I really love about Demolition Hammer was how they were a primarily thrash metal band, but listening to their sound production, tunings, and their songwriting were reminiscent of brutal death metal and grindcore bands.
Despite all the glory for their unreal performance while being in their 60s and absolute murderous aggression after all these years, lets just take a moment to appreciate brutal assault crowd and how there are no phones in the air like in old school times
It’s nuts that they’ve been able to keep that aggressive attitude after all these years, and the vocals? Sound fucking awesome! The greatest deathrash band of all time.
This is a true metal concert. In Wacken people would have been all still and motionless looking at the stage without the slightest expression. Demolition Hammer are GREAT, they have the energy of 20 years old guys.
@@farmageddonfuul4789 Sure, let's try to go this year to see how Vomitory, Pestilence or Gwar are brand-bands... Still not getting why to emphasize how good Demolition Hammer are and how well they were received in Brutal Assault, apparently we need to send shit over Wacken, as if they were not scheduling underground bands together with mainstream metal...
@Theatre of Flesh This isn't death metal, just good old thrash. You must be new to the genre, stop making all those dumb comments pretending you know shit.
@@Lilbroda Theatre of Flesh isn't wrong to group DH in the death metal umbrella. Demolition Hammer's songwriting had a lot of death metal influences and elements. It was what made them so unique back in the day. They were heavy as fuck whereas other thrash bands sounded a bit sterile in comparison.
@@Bones98 There were bands playing like this before DH, Dark Angel is a good exemple from the mid 80s, you might mistake it for DM because of fast blast and double kicks and growl vocals, but DM was about the atmosphere, the low key and tremolo melodies and the variation of tempo which def gave the style the unique signature. I still understand why people would call DH Death Metal. But they are a thrash metal band. An extreme one, no doubt.
This is death / thrash. Akin to the more speedy / proto-death metal sound that was more early 90’s (88-91), especially in the florida “morrisound” era scene.
So many bands nowadays could take a lesson from these guys in how to put on a live performance. The sound is tight, heavy, and pummeling. In other words: perfect. Angel Cotte does a beautiful job of being his own drummer while still paying homage to the insanity that was Vinny Daze (RIP). The whole band just rips. And Steve's vox are the perfect blend of gasoline and an acidic mix of raw power. Like Frank Mullen (formerly of Suffocation), he MAKES the vox an instrument instead of something separate. One of my absolute all-time favorite bands!!! Hail!! \m/
@@angelcotte5000 you are more than welcome!!! It's a pleasure to get a message from you!! And I meant what I said in that you're your own drummer. No one wants someone to "be" Vinny. It's like when Keith Moon passed and The Who hired Kenney Jones. He wasn't Moon but still played the parts but gave the music at that time his personality. Keep killing it with DH, Angel!!! 🤘
Oh my fucking god the riff at 1:55 ! Freaking amazing ! The kings of thrash death metal ! The Brutal Assault sound ingeneer deserves a fucking gold medal for his incredible job on every video, this is top notch!
Always loved Steve's vocals. Not the same without Vinny, but glad to see them perform together again. Unbelievable they are still as amazing musically as they were 20 years ago. They put young bands to shame.
FUCK YEAH SOME DEMOLITION HAMMER PRO-FOOTAGE. This fucking record is beyond perfection. Epidemic of Violence, the most Brutal Thrash Metal album ever created.
What a great surprise. I've been a fan of metal of all kinds for over a decade now and I've never heard of this band. And yet here they are melting my fucking face off, while also playing with the skill and energy you'd expect from a band half their age. Old people are metal as fuck cause they're closer to death. RESPECT. \m/
It's so friggin funny how you notice that the old geezers wanna play the songs faster than the drumer! Hillarious! Guys I love you in a demolition kind of way, keep it up, stay on scene, let us hear more of you! You've nerver been forgotten, just missed!
Makes a huge difference indeed. The ones from Hate5Six (most of their videos, at least recent ones, for TIH fest mostly) and ArteConcert and Bloodstock kill too !
OOOHhh shit im old now!.....I think I just got old...seeming as how i used to listen to demolition hammer when i rode my bike to school on a WALKMAN!......BTW im 50 now!.....METAL is for all ages!!!!
It's an endless source of fascination to me how Derek has somehow not aged at all. Also, seeing this and the time I saw them in Switzerland (same year, I think) just made me wonder why they ever quit. So good.
У меня с Sodom а демолишенов я пробухал к сожалению только в нулевых первый раз услышал и сразу 44калибр так засел внутрях!но я их с assassin сравниваю чем то схожи!
@@illumibloodp0rne529 Will Rahmer lived a few blocks away from me in Yonkers. Also check out Encyclopaedia Metallum and Wikipedia; both list Mortician are from Yonkers.
This is great, sounds great and sound NO WAY NEAR as great as it was live there anyway. This gig, for those of you that attended it in 2019, was so much better! (I saw them both)
Absolutely fantastic set! Demolition Hammer needs to release this on CD! Honestly - production on here sounds a lot better than most of their studio recordings.
