The video for ‘Windswept' was directed by the late artist and filmmaker Derek Jarman. Recorded at various studios in London, Nassau and New York, the song featured guest appearances from David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler, Nile Rodgers, David Sanborn, Guy Pratt and Chester Kamen. The track was released in 1985 on the album 'Boys and Girls'.

About 20 years ago I turned my nephew Craig on to Roxy Music he came up to me later on maybe a year or so later told me Uncle Steve mother of pearl gives me gooseflesh I hugged him and told him how much I loved him

This sublime track and "Don't Stop The Dance" are off the scale perfection in terms of lush production, dramatic deep emotional musical scaping, thus literally is platinum grade music and it's such a shame he didn't continue with tracks like these!

Just listened to Boys and Girls three times in the last two weeks (now that I've figured out how to use an MP3 player in my car). This is a perfect album. I mean PERFECT. And this is the best song on it. I couldn't listen to it for a couple of decades due to tragic associations, but I'm so happy to rediscover this masterpiece. Thank you.

Took a lot of hurt to be able to listen to Ferry tracks like this back in the day. I had to lower the volume to please my parents. I had to hide the tape and make sure everyone was OK. I lived in a very fragile environment. I later read that Mr. Ferry was an art student graduate, that made all the pieces fall into place. I'm artsy too.

My heart is broken seeing and listening to this. This is my absolute favourite BF song. Sadly, I've gone to two of three concerts alone in the last 10 years here in Toronto, Canada. (Don't worry, I prefer it that way. Besides, I paid good money for my tickets), and I have gone home empty handed. Not once has he performed Windswept at those concerts. I'm so afraid of going to another one of his beautiful concerts for the same disappointment. I love him and his music but I wish I could make up for the fact that I missed out on the Bête Noire tour.
