@@jag360.I'm a Bama fan and I had Stroud/Bryce as the best QBs of the 2023 draft about tied in talent. They played about equal vs UGA in 2021/22 with both having 4 TDs but Bryce having a 98.1 QBR vs Stroud with a 94.1 QBR, when both had their WRs. I won money on OSU covering vs UGA, and Bama covering/winning the 1st UGA/SEC championship. I use UGA so much in my example because it was obviously the college defense with the most NFL players, especially 1st RD ones.

@KCC46 if you know anything about football in general, you would realize the fact that the dude came out of college with a height of 5'10, the stress of being a heisman winner and others having high expectations for him, and being new to the league and being put on a terrible team. Not to mention that his o-line was playing terribly and the team went through 2 offensive coordinators through his rookie season. The reason he was the #1 pick, or suggested #2 pick was how well he did in college. You can blame David temper because he's the one who chose bryce as the panthers franchise qb. There are so many other factors blaming the team entirely (except bryce) and there are plenty of reasons that prove bryce was not the problem, it's to early to say he is a bust. So don't go around and telling other ppl that bryce is a bust and he's a trash player. No reason to trash someone because your mad at the fact that your team did just as bad as the panthers. The “lowers his eyes” knock is extremely nitpicky. He was so good in college at keeping his eyes down field while improvising and it paid off numerous times. He also had 7 batted passes last year, Lawrence had twice as much, Stroud had the same amount on 60 less drop backs, Herbert had 7, Love had 8 and AR had 4 on 522 fewer drop backs and I could go on and on and on. He took 62 sacks and only missed 1 game, Stroud took 38 and missed 2 games. Young played behind one of the worst offensive lines in the league and still hung in there and only missed 1 game. If anything that should be praised and his ability to complete the play and not shy away from hits is important in the NFL

Houston and Green bay were his best games and the game after houston he threw 2 pick 6's against indy and debatably his worst game of the season. Green bay was probably his best game but then the next week we got shut out he looked terrible against jacksonville we lost 26-0 he had 112 yards and an interception and looked like he had never played football before so basically nothing to take away from his good games bc he didnt build on them he went backwards after every decent moment he had. I didnt expect him to throw 5k yards and 30 tds but i didnt think he would have more turnovers than scores and showed nothing that proves hes going to be a good quarterback. I hope he does he is the guy i wanted us to draft i even bought his jersey last offseason but he has a long way to go. How does Bryce get the opportunity to have more scores when the Panthers defense was injured and not up to par which then led the offense on a passing script? Not to mention the coaching staff on offense an the roster talents on offense was ass. Bryce would end up getting 3rd and long situations because the run game was also ass (for overpaying Miles Sanders). You are literally asking a small QB whose not an athletic runner to make miracles and to move the ball in the air with receivers who can't separate. I'm not saying they did or did not do this but a lot of breakdowns, video or article, of players that are after the rookie season are still based on pre draft analysis. Whatever side of the fence you were on pre draft, you're probably staying on that side until it's abundantly obvious you were wrong. You're going to hone in on the things that line up with what you thought would make him good or bad. Which is honestly how it should be. If you were high or low on a prospect, 18 weeks isn't enough time to make a final conclusion.

Sure there are some people who are small who can get by, but the problem with him is that he doesn't play like he's small. Brees made up for it by throwing more downfield and dropping back further and Sean Peyton knew how to work around it. Russell Wilson did it with a running threat and he was a lethal out of pocket thrower. Bryce just looks like he wants to stand there and shift around like Tom Brady. That poor guy got flattened over and over again. I think it's gonna be hard for him to be productive and he'll end up being a decent backup somewhere.

Why isn’t Bryce Young considered a bust and gets excuses but literally everyone says Trey Lance is a bust when he has only played 3 full games?
@capitolphoenix7531
@capitolphoenix7531 14 дней назад
Plenty of reasons: -Trey was overdrafted (49ers trading up didn’t help) and considered raw coming out. -Lance had two years in before he was dealt albeit injuries knocked him out. -Purdy outplayed him and probably highlighted the difference in development. -49ers were a win now team when they traded up opposed to the Panthers who were bad and gave up a bunch of draft resources to draft Young. Another year or two of failure the excuses won’t matter and the label will stick for Young.
@patek9789
@patek9789 14 дней назад
@@capitolphoenix7531 -you can easily say Bryce was over drafted with this logic he was literally the #1 pick - he had one season in when he was backing up jimmy g then he got hurt in his second game - Purdy came into a much better team with Cmc and the defense playing at their best, if you want proof you can go look at Jimmy G’s stats when he had Cmc for just a short time and he was putting up great numbers - The Niners have been in “Win now mode” for 4 years and haven’t won once it doesn’t really say much So Bryce can get a year or two more of chances but yet Trey Lance has been written off after just 3 total games he played? Why is Trey held to the highest standards?
@capitolphoenix7531
@capitolphoenix7531 14 дней назад
@@patek9789 Bryce was pretty much close to consensus leading to the draft. Lance was noted to be RAW. He may have had 3 starts but the 49ers decided to cut ties after having him for two years and trading up for him. That’s telling they rather move on then even develop him after all that sunk cost. They’ve been plenty of close, you think Lance gets them over the hump? lol I’m not sure how he gets another year or two. When Lance had a year more to prove himself as of now. And again that 49ers team Lance played on still light years better than what CAR trotted out last year coaching and team wise. I don’t have a horse in this race, but seems like you’re hitched to Lance.
@patek9789
@patek9789 14 дней назад
@@capitolphoenix7531 Lance was a raw prospect but there’s been plenty of raw prospects and he was still projected to be a top 5-10 pick. Yeah the 49ers got rid of Lance because he was a distraction to Purdy and they wanted to protect Purdy. If you want proof you can go look up 49ers fan chanting “We want Trey” in the Broncos Pre season game when Purdy was playing. They really haven’t been close like people think and at the end of the day the reason the Niners have fell short is because of the Qb play and there is no disputing that. So you said Bryce can get a year more or two which would be year three or four for him but you have already written off Lance after a year or more to prove himself? It seems like you’re hitched to Bryce because you are willing to give him a year or two of chances but Lance you already have written off after a year.

@@patek9789 49ers also chanted that they wanted Carr at one point. They were in the Super Bowl last season, I highly doubt they get there with Trey Lance at the helm. What’s CAR going to do? Jettison a QB they traded up for with no proven replacement? That was saddled with a poor supporting cast? All the reasons why Lance was moved like I mentioned before? Lance was moved after two year with the team… why are you acting like it was one? Im not hitched to Young but you’re a hardcore Lance fan to be overlooking all these things.

I don’t understand. It seems like you cherry picked 5 positive plays and then extrapolated your conclusion based on that. Look, I pray Bryce rebounds next season. This is the NFL, and we weren’t even the worst team in the league when we got him. When the Reich staff was assembled, a larger contingency of fans and insiders were singing their praises. The Panthers were widely viewed as the best situation for a rookie QB. But wait. Turns out that coaching staff sucked and the entire offense sucked too. Did it? Bryce was historically bad in certain advanced metrics that indicate he’s not only a bust, but in the conversation for biggest bust ever. This is the nfl, and it amazes me that a group of professionals had a toss up and decided to got with a 5’ 8” QB. His ball mechanics, footwork, arm strength, and deep ball are riddled with problems.
