Cleaning out the sludge trap, removing the old sludge trap screw was a pain due to the large amount of punch marks! Replacing the timing side bush was much easier. #bsa #a50 #royalstar #restoration

Another good one Ian. Great job cleaning up the crank, you definitely had stress crack risks before. I can't see why Loctite wouldn't do as good if not a better job than peening. A medium strength would be going nowhere. Looking forward to the next episode, have a good week. Dean.
hi i've used red loctite on all my a65 engine rebuilds and there all fine so i would''nt worry to much about that. and normally with the solid bronze timing side bush they do need line reaming but the metal backed bush as your original one is, they don't they were designed for the dealerships to change them there self and if needed regrind the timing journal to suit the new bush so the metal backed bush don't need reaming and i would say the metal ones are far better they support the crank as the metal ones don't distort under load, and i would get an allen key sludge trap pug they are far easier to remove the next time round. kind regards Adrian. and can i say great vids
