@@stephendobbin9298 I've not read them, I'm currently rebuilding a rocket goldstar and yours is a fine example. To them who mock and give incredibly negative comments go and fuk yourselves you jealous low lives. All the best Stephen great pride you have. Love that.
I will tell you how strong these engines are me and my mate rode 2 up to a race in Mallory park 90 on the motorway late 60s on that way back round Stafford it burnt a hole in one piston because he liked fukn about with different grade spark plugs anyway a guy with a vello thruxton pulled up behind us and said take the plug out and carry on ! We did at 70+ to Liverpool!
i had a 63 model with all taylor dow mods (5 gallon alloy tank, yokes etc)not as quick as my 61 bonnie but better handling.rrt2 was a pain in the arse until you got going lol.
I had the same and was lucky enough to have the Dow twin leading shoe front brake and a twin carb head, unfortunately on the way to the 1973 TT the engine grenaded on the M1, the bike was left to rot in a ditch, if i only knew then what we all know now. Then went on to a Suzuki 750 kettle, complete different world, wish i had either today.
mine had the twin leading shoeas well but just before i got rid of mine (for a hillman imp and £40 ) lol can you beleive it.............. it started jumping out of second .as a tyre fitter i didnt have the money fo fix it and now i aint got the money to buy the frame.ride zx9r these days but the sound of a parralel twin on full bore still gives me that tingle.
Genuine RGS's had Gold Star frames which had the offside bottom frame tube pinched in under the timing case. I don't see that on this bike. The pinch was to clear the oil pump on the Gold Star engine.
yes for the db and dbd single cylinder gold star , this bike is a rocket gold star twin cylinder it has a duplex frame so the oil filter sump is central . if you google BSA rocket gold star you will see the details of these very rare bikes . hope this helps steve
