BigNerd Dean: The thing you should know about BTS right off the bat is that they are telling you what their life is like at that time. They write very few songs that aren't exactly what's happening in their lives or what they are feeling about situations or incidents. This song is about working their asses off, while other KPOP stars are going out clubbing. BTS would go to school during the day and come back to the practice room and practice into the night. Most nights falling asleep on the practice room floor. They didn't go out clubbing. They practiced & practiced, so, if and when the call ever came in, they would be ready. Most days they worked 10 to 12 hours. I've never in my life seen anyone rehearse more than BTS. I never seen more determination from anyone before.
Yeah they haven't dominated like they are right now. Hence RM asking is this your first time to bts right at the start. I feel 2015 is the time when they gain the confidence in themselves.
I love how exhausted he gets from experiencing their overwhelming talent. so funny. the West has a lot of catching up to do to level up with BTS’s performance qualities.
I love watching people watch Dope and Mic Drop for the first time. You can see their faces drink in the awesomeness of BTS. It does blow your mind... Great reaction!
What a great reaction!! They truly worked their ass off to prove themselves against the industry which always ignored them and they alsoreally behaved differently than other idols or topstars who were arrogant and clubbing their nights out
This was my first video I saw from BTS….I was busy minding my own business happily watching my BAP (RIP🥺) videos and this popped up in my suggestions back in 2015. I just wanted to know who the guy with the red hair was😩😩😩😩😩😩😂😂 The dancing is also epic AF ….and here we are 🤷🏻♀️
It will be fun if you will start reacting to thier debut song since 2013. But be ready to enter the "bts universe" because there music video has hidden meaning😂😂😂😂
🙋🏻♀️ from 🇺🇸 Silver army here 👵🏼 What they are is pure dedication, determination , passion, enthusiasm , perseverance, and a desire to share = Artistry . Your reactions to BTS mirrors mine when I first discovered them 3 years ago and still there is much more to discover of them as you will experience as you delve/dive into BTS . Thank you for delightful video reactions👏👏 💟💜
OMG😯! Another BTS song to pump to as they inspire me. Yesss! First time listening to 'Dope'. Sounds like to me they're saying here I am and I'm kinda dope. Don't talk about me because I'm working while you clubbing 👍🏾💗👵🏿🎶🤗🙆🏾♀️!
There is a way to increase the size of the captions. Sorry, too small for me to see what the translation was. As an ex dancer, I have to watch more than once to get meanings, because I can only watch the dance 1st, maybe 2nd, 3rd times before I can read the lyrics. Believe me, lyrics Always count with BTS. I firmly believe their English translator(s) on the MVs should be winning awards. It may be RM. There are very few obvious errors.
I often wonder how many people realize that BTS was being falsely accused of plagiarism, chart manipulation, and copycating other groups concepts/styles during this time . . . I don't think this concept or individual costumes (all related to working) are at all coincidental. I would say that this is Clapback in true BTS/BigHit style!
This is the song that hooked me into bts, years ago 😂💜 love this reaction so much 🔥 We dont mind all the pause and replay bc that is genuine reaction 🔥
There is definitely greater meaning to this song. The great thing is that there are also many fan made videos that provide explanations of the deeper meanings of their song lyrics, especially where there are cultural references that are hard for us foreign fans to comprehend. I suggest you check DKDKTV's explanation video for this song, I'm positive the deeper meaning will blow you away! 😁 Welcome to the rabbit hole, welcome to BTS!
In the beginning BTS experienced alot of harsh accusations from people trying to silence them. Most if not all were lies and the instances where BTS felt that they were in the wrong, they apologized and learned from their mistakes. The "lying wacks" i believe is speaking to the false accusations made by people lying about them. BTS always seem to chose write about people or instances that bother them,(which became part of some of their best discographies, instead of creating situations that could be harmful to their rise. They always showed respect to others but haters beware...if you passed them off you will probably be the subject of their next big diss track.😉💜
💜💜 When BTS writes songs, the songs relate to what is happening at the time in their lives. You said you like documentaries. The Rise of Bangtan is 7 episodes that trace BTS from their start as trainees through 7 albums, I believe. They are long but you won't hear a complaint from ARMYs. We will watch those episodes over and over again. I am looking forward to your reaction to BTS's journey. You will be able to see the connection between their development as a group and as individual performers and the music's development. (You will also learn about the haters.) This song was written when BTS worked their tails off to make it backed by a company that didn't have the money to promote them like other companies promoted their idols. But BigHit gave them the creative freedom from the beginning that no other group had...writing their own songs, not having company-imposed practice schedules (but they practiced more hours than any other group), etc. It is their work ethic that got them where they are and they continue to be humble. 💜
I am really enjoying your BTS reactions. Sometime maybe you could have your daughter react along with you, since she probably knows more about them, LOL. There are some very interesting Korean cultural references in Dope; it was really helpful to me to watch Baepsae and the Explanation by a Korean by DKDKTV to get it; RM's lines refer to some of the same things here in Dope. Baepsae is in my top all time favorites because it talks about a problem that is happening all over the world, not just in Korea. I love BTS because (most of) their music has so much meaning. I suggest watching the dance practice, then the explanation, then some of the fantastic live performances. There is also Ugh (watch the explanation for that one too!) Ddaeng, Am I Wrong, Idol, and I'm probably forgetting something else but I'm guessing you will get about a million suggestions anyway. Thanks again!
there is a great explanation video "BTS “Dope” Explained by a Korean Fan" ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FhWUagYBbtI.html ). she has many videos for several of the BTS songs. DKDKTV also have really good explanation videos. for good content about the boys XCeleste and Anetria?(not sure if this is her YT channel name). I am sure other ARMY's will know more. I just found them myself last april and I am still working my way way thru all their content and enjoying every minute. 56 year old Auntie and baby ARMY Welcome to the rabbit hole :)
