Bts has a lot of haters and this song was a response to them. They came from a small company, that even almost went bankrupt. They didn’t really have a budget, Bts even use to sleep in one bedroom. Bigger companies and companies fans used to look down on them, telling them they would never make it. They also used to print designer labels on their clothing, as they couldn’t afford it. But at they end of the day Bts got the last laugh, as all the hate towards them only fueled them to work harder and achieve the success they have today. Which is why they are so humble and grounded as they know what it’s like to be at the bottom.

BTS arguably is the most hated upon and the most beloved group in the world. If you want rap try BTS performing Outro: Tear at Wembley Stadium.

The live version of this song would drop that buildup the end. Fire af. It is so hype.

People hate on them in many many irrational ways. In all genders, races, and ages and could be fans/stans of another artist/s. But ARMYs are always there to protect them at all costs. It is the best. 💜 Whenever ANTIs trend a hashtag, ARMYs trend their own to counteract the hate. 😊 You should watch their struggles and hate to them throughout the years because I don't want to spoil everything.

There's a "Making of " for their MV's. In the making of mic drop, RM says they were inspired to write this song by President Obama's mic drop. Its my fav BTS mv.

Great reaction. Yes, BTS went thru hate from other fandoms, bigger companies and even underground rappers which RM and Suga were apart of. Plus if you realize that ( I'm not sure where you are but I'm in the US) BTS didn't get airplay. I didn't hear their songs on the radio until Dynamite. BTS is world wide but only heard of them thru my oldest child then slowly on talk shows. Like your reactions. 💜

I think you mentioned you're in Japan so you might be interested in the Japanese version of MIC Drop as well. They actually have quite a few Japanese versions of mv's and songs, plus entire Japanese albums. Japan has stricter copyright laws than Korea, from what I gather from other reactors, so not sure how reacting to them would work out.

They have over 300 songs and most of them are more like this than Butter, Dynamite or Permission to Dance. Those songs are more lighthearted to ease the mental strain everyone is going through during Covid (and in English to gain more radio play in the west), but the bulk of their work is much deeper. I recommend Not Today, Fire, and maybe watch a live performance of Outro:Wings.....it's a great combination of rap and vocals. Their live performances will give you a taste of how amazing they actually are as artists...I find their live stuff even better than the studio stuff.

Yep, they had/have a lot of haters. Even worse, they have been disrespected for years - in Korea, and in the west - just watch how western interviewers spoke to them a few years ago - like they were simple-minded pretty boys with nothing interesting to say… I guess they got sick of it, and the result is Mic Drop 😂😂 They are really just telling those busy-bodies to get a life and stop interfering in theirs… Their English songs are good, but their Korean songs are brilliant - their lyrics are way more clever, complex, profound, and interesting when they can write in their own language, which I think is natural. They are very brave with their music. And they are very creative. Most of their songs have at least some rap in them - there are some that are pure rap, and some that are purely vocals, but most mix it up. There aren’t babies anymore - the first member of the group was signed in 2010, and they debuted in 2013. Right now, July 2021, the youngest member is 23 and the oldest is 28. Yes, they were really young when they debuted (Jungkook, the youngest, was 13 when he signed, and 15 at debut), but they have been doing this for a decade, they are grown men and seasoned performers - finally they seem to be getting some respect, but there are still some who mock them 😡🤷‍♂️

They are a 23 member group that is typically split into units; NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV (Chinese unit) and NCT U which is a rotational unit that can have any number/combination of members for any given project. An interesting aspect of NCT is that over half the members are foreign to Korea... two of which are Japanese (Yuta and Shotaro). And word around the campfire is there is a new Japanese unit on the horizon as well.
