I love that Jin said this was the first time he SAW BTS and said he understands why people love them!!

Don’t know if anyone said but the reason Jin isn’t dancing with the rest is that he had surgery on his finger just before but they made it work so well! Such professionals!

Jimin had an appendectomy about a month ago before this performance…Jhope had to stay in Korea recovering from COVID…Jungkook had to go into Quarantine as soon as he got to USA…Jin had surgery on his finger which was why he was at a desk in the opening of this performance and Jhope got in like day before or day of Grammys so making this performance perfect was not working for them but they did it anyway….sheer perfection for BTS!

Actually they said that they couldn't nail the jacket choreography in any of their practices, especially because some of them had covid and weren't able to join the practices up until the last days. They were so relieved and excited after their performance and informed us that everything magically worked out and they pulled it off. Also Jin's hand was injured during that show, that's why he couldn't dance with them.

One of the best iconic performance on Grammy. BTS knows how to put on a show and they always work really hard for their fans and audience. They deserved the standing ovation.

They actually had almost no time to practice the jacket dance together. j-hope and Jungkook were recovering from COVID and couldn't join the others until the day before the performance. Every live performance of Butter is amazing and a little different. They had very little time to prepare for this performance so this just shows you how talented they all are.

I enjoyed watching this iconic performance with you. I was also on my feet, first time I saw it, such happy energy and talent. They didn’t win a Grammy , but their performance won everybodys heart. Good you dressed up for the occasion😉 😝♥️

I know everyone has already filled you in on the little practice they had for this. Just shows you how amazing they are. Jin was also recovering from hand surgery and that’s why he couldn’t dance. I saw them in Vegas right after this and Jin had to sit out a lot but man was it amazing still. You can’t beat BTS live!

The jacket bit didn't work out a lot of the time in their practices, so they were really nervous about doing it in the live performance. You can see Hobi's huge smile when it works out perfectly. While it would be great if the guys could see your cover of Fake Love, as of a few days ago all seven members have entered the South Korean military for their mandatory service, so it's much harder for even the power of ARMY to bring things to their attention as their online/cell phone time is severely limited.

Yes Nathan do another BTS song cover, I remember Suga recalled that they had a tough time during rehearsals as Jin, who was only part of the second half of the performance, had surgery on his index finger. Meanwhile, J-Hope and Jungkook had to be in quarantine, after testing positive for Covid-19. Suga said that it was unlikely that the band would be delivering a performance of that scale anytime soon.The performance went off without a hitch anyway.

They actually practiced separately and only did it a few times together cos Jung Kook and Hobi arrived last minute after getting covid. Jin had a hand operation so was sat out. Hobi had lack of sleep and didn’t know the layout of the stage and tripped in the very beginning but he pulled it off and not many people noticed. If u rewatch this again, watch the back drop. Slowly the paintings go missing like they’ve been stolen. The jacket lock was done once before but with just Jimin and Jung Kook when they did a dance to Michael Jacksons Black and White.

Jin will be back next spring. We can start trying to get his attention when he returns home.

Nathan!!!! Finally!!! Been suggesting this performance since I first saw your dive into BTS! Behind the scenes: JK was in LV and 6 days prior tested + for Covid his first day. Hobi also in Korea had Covid. He had to clear before he could fly out. They just barely squeaked in by about 24 hrs. Jin had just had surgery on his hand, why he us in the control space and joined them at the end. Hobi almost fell in the opening and in the very end JK almost tripped and fell coming down the steps.(Covid takes it out of you). Behind on the screen is subliminal messages flashing. As the artwork is stolen it is replaced by messages from BTS to ARMY. And V said he was just mumbling nonsense into Olivia's ear.. And Olivia won 2? Grammys that night! And that was HER at the same table. And with all the great work BTS has done. They have yet to win a Grammy with 7 nominations! Magic, I guess it would be a handy talent for a boyband member to have!!🙃 BTW any of the BTS groups I belong to and have sent your cover to I get denied. And unless we know someone in the Bighit world......maybe we should bombard fans of BTS like Jimmy Fallon, John Cena, Matthew McConaughey and others!!! 1) Jin had suffered a surgery on his hand, that's why he was sit almost the whole time. The doctor had said it was dangerous if he hit his hand while dancing) 2) The girl besides V is Olivia Rodrigo. Grammy winner that year. 3) J-Hope arrived at the USA the day before this performance, because he got covid. JK too, but he was released some day before this. It means that they had almost no time to do a good group rehearsal. 4) The suits trick was made for the first time by JK and Jimin when covering MJ's Black and White (I'm sure you'd like to watch it) 😊.

The jacket choreography - you should check out the behind the scenes video. They’re called Bangtan Bombs, and you’ll see how they worked out the choreo. I think RM even ripped his jacket, and ended up borrowing Jin’s.

That one time when jhope tripped almost took a nose dive recovered and slayed the stage.

I thought this performance was breathtaking. BTS performed like the true stars/celebrities they are. I normally do not watch the Grammy's because I alway felt disappointed. But BTS changed my outlook.

This was a great performer. Jin was out cause he had surgery on his hand that's why it was wrapped up. Also that's Olivia Rodrigo yes she is a famous singer. BTS got a standing applause from everyone. They should of won a grammy for Butter and last year Dynamite. Numbers proved it but unfortunately they didn't.

This performance was beyond exceptional because they had almost no time to practice it on site. All odds were against them. Some months back Jimin got appendicitis, then shortly before Grammys Jin injured his hand and needed a surgery ( that’s why he was sitting in the beginning with bandage on his hand), Jk arrived to US and got immediately sick with Covid ( as the last member to get it)and needed to be isolated in his hotel room, practicing on his own locked inside and J-Hope was still recovering from Covid in SK and arrived as the last to US virtually a day before they performed it. As a group they had 1 day to rehearse it and the jacket trick was failing them until the live when they nailed it. Incredible !

BTS forever

They were sooooooooooo stressed about that jacket trick coming out right, especially since Hobi wasn't even there until that last second cause of Covid . . . . But they pulled it off so well! One of them (maybe Jimin =) or Hobi said, "even if you don't catch it, fake it!" and it came off so smooth!!!!

This is another day in which I am trying to get his reaction to let go or crystal snow so he can really see how strong bts' vocals are. I am still trying but anyways I love his reactions ❤

I'm sorry but I laughed out loud when Olivia appeared and you said “who is she?”, man, I even forgot her second name, but if you, a music producer, didn't recognize her, I honestly don't understand why she won the GRAMMYS and BTS nothing. BTS actually had really less practice for this performance. You would know if you saw their practice episode they posted in their channel *BANGTAN TV* . At that time 2 of the members JK and JHope were positive with covid-19 and so they arrived at US in different times. They only practiced with 5 members before JK arrived and JHope arrived only a day before the D-Day. All they had as practice was what they did before going to the US in Korea as a group. They had only 1 day practice at the venue. But they still made that performance being the world stars they are. (JK aka Jungkook)

Jin's hand was injured so they put him in the side room to perform; but he joined the rest of BTS in the last dance.

you can't imagine all the hurdles that they had to overcome to make this performance happen.

That was Olivia Rodrigo and yes she's quite famous and an award winner. Actually, with this grab me award show being in Las Vegas, The inspiration came from the oceans 11 movie about in Las Vegas heist. It wasn't just AOL It was anything back in the day because we all had to log in using a phone line and modem. Making all internet connections sounded that way in the day.😂

I don't think the guys will be able to see your cover for awhile. As of the 12th of December, all 7 of them are now enlisted in mandatory military in South Korea. A few things you wouldn't know about this performance: 1) Jin was recovering from hand surgery and couldn't perform most of the dances, so that's why they put him in the control station. 2) J-Hope and Jung Kook had just gotten cleared a day or two before the event, due to getting Covid. Jung Kook flew to the US early and upon arrival got tested and quarantined in the hotel room. He was practicing to videos alone in the hotel. I think he flew over early to make sure the thing he flew down from the ceiling on was set up properly, maybe. J-Hope was quite ill with Covid in South Korea and only got cleared to fly 2 days before. So, bottom line, they had ONE DAY with all 7 of them to practice together. They were worried about the jacket part as they hadn't done it successfully in practice, but they pulled it off without a hitch. Basically, they started off practicing together a month or two before the show, but ended up with only 4 of them practicing together until they could re-unite with J-Hope and Jung Kook, and Jin as well. 3) The theme is a museum heist. If you watch the background walls, all the paintings disappear and around the laser part, start being replaced with pictures of the BTS members. Yeah, 007 theme. So cool. 4) There is a behind the scenes video for this on BANGTANTV channel. It is worth watching that. 5) The girl that V was sitting next to at the beginning is Olivia Rodrigo, pretty famous singer and very good!

I looove this performance concept -- so glad you checked it out. I can't help imagining Plus One doing a 007 concept. Your first album cover coulda passed for secret agent concept. 😅😉 Anyway, this performance was in Vegas, so they played art thieves, in the vein of "like a criminal undercover" and "like a robber" from the lyrics. If you go back and watch, you'll see the art on the walls slowly disappears throughout the performance and is replaced by their own images.

No one else really noticed that both J-hope and JK tripped during that performance. J-hope near the start and JK at the end. But when you've watched it several hundred times (like me) you notice these things.

@ 6.58 actually they couldn't practice much cause first 1 of the members caught covid,, then a second member did, so they could do rehearsals with the 7 of them only twice! they could manage to get the jacket trick done I think only once.. all the other times it failed, except on stage lmao

I couldn't really see through your copyright thing. But what others are saying, JK and JHope had just gotten out of quarantine although they were still recovering from symptoms. Staff was concerned about JK coming down on the hook. Hobi got there last and since he is the dance leader it didn't 100% come together. After he came it was all cleaned up crisply but there were only two full rehearsals. Also the choreography had to be revised due to Jin's hand. Still, the performance was ranked 14th out of all Grammy performances of all time.

The best version would probably be a clip from The Road to D-Day with English subtitles. You'd have to pay attention to the lyrics as they are sincere and meaningful. Since the members are all serving in the military at the moment ARMY's been streaming Spring Day to the point it's been leading global lists on Spotify and iTunes across a number of countries. Spring Day is full of symbolism and is an emotional rollercoaster. If you really wanted to take a deep dive, you could react to the MV then watch the explanation video by Italian ARMY, then watch some stage performances with the theories about what the choreography represents. It's very deep, emotional and a special experience that stays with you for life. If Spring Day had to be represented by 2 emojis, it'd be a snowflake and a cherry blossom. This is interesting, because since the last 4 members enlisted, spring flowers started blossoming in S.Korea across the country in the middle of winter! As if mother nature was ARMY itself saying we'll wait and will definitely meet again.

Jin had just had hand surgery, Hobi still in Korea until last minute because of Covid, JK quarantined for a week because of Covid right after arriving in Vegas a week before the others arrived. It was crazy but they still made it amazing! They were by far the best act of the night. The crowd loved them.

If you are really looking for a song to cover, there can be no song greater than Spring Day. It is one of their absolute bests, and if you haven’t heard it, then you are missing out. Have you not watched their NPR tiny desk concert? Spring Day is a song about longing for someone who is gone, and the music video is about the Sewol ferry disaster. Heartbreaking. Look into it, and you will be totally moved.
