Hi Guys! Welcome back! A little disclaimer here, the video I watched for my reaction, is not available anymore, so the link in the description of the video is not that exact video but pretty much the same. Also, the video got blocked on my first try so I had to try and work around that, which is why there is a text layer over the video. I'd prefer otherwise of course but I much rather choose this than the video not being watchable for you guys! I hope you understand. 🙂 Finally, my camera apparently had some focusing problems for this one, I hope you don't mind the number of "out of focus"-parts. That said, enjoy the video, guys!

Every BTS performance is a WINNING PERFORMANCE... Their live performances are TOP TIER... And they're singing and rapping live while doing all those choreographies... And as u are digging deeper of BTS, u will see that they are doing almost all genre's of music... And they write and produce almost all of their songs, which is incredible... Oh, and yes, they were singing live. They train by singing on a treadmill. They don’t lip sync and rarely use auto tune. I can’t wait for you to see some of their live stage performances!

According to Rolling Stones, this performance is the 13th best performance in Grammy history. Billboard said this performance was the nest in that night followed by Silksonic

Thanks for the reaction to this performance. They really did incredible, this was considered the best performance of the night and included among the 25 best in the history of the Grammys. Could you believe that a few days before it was still uncertain if they could perform? That the 7 were able to rehearse only the day before on that stage? Well Jin, the one on the screens, was sitting down because he's recovering from hand surgery and couldn't break dance. JK, the one who came down at the beginning came out of his quarantine the day before. J-Hope, one of the rappers, came out of his quarantine 5 days early and was able to make it to Las Vegas just the day before.

They were singing and performing live in person at the Grammys, which makes this performance amazing and superior, since no one really believes they can sing and dance so flawlessly.

Yes this was live! their live performances are the best. You will be shocked if you watch the ones they do at the Korean award shows like MMA and MAMA, the are just in another whole level. BTS for this Grammy performances had a lot of hardship because One member called Jin (The one that is sitting the whole time) had to go under surgery for his left index finger, J-hope and Jungkook had Covid a couple of days before Grammys (One member flighted alone to Las Vegas 2 days before the grammys and the other ended quarantine in las vegas just one day before and in addition to that, Jimin recently underwent surgery for acute appendicitis). BTS said in a live that they practiced a whole week with just 4 members and the day before the awards, they managed to organize and synchronize everything which is so impressive because they did it perfectly. As always it was an amazing performance 👏🏻💜 Can´t believe they didn't win best pop duo/ group performance again because they are the best but we all know how grammys are.. Sometimes they have backtracks when they dance like in this case but they always sing live and are incredible in it. They ran a treadmill while singing just like Beyonce did and overall have 10 years of practicing, back then 10-16 hours a day. They are literally famous for their performances! The whole performance is live, including yhe singing (ofcourse there is a backing track but they r still singing live). BTS are undisputedly the best band in the world and you can see here why.

the funny part is, the category they were nominated in was "top duo/group PERFORMANCE" imagine being one of the best, if not the best performers right now and not winning a performance category nomination

And to think that they only had 1 day to rehearse this as a group! 1 member just barely got cleared from CoVID while the other was injured.

People who have first seen their grammy performance are in awe. Me, too. But the 'intermissions' or 'performance between award shows in Korea/Asia were x50 grandest. It' s like they make the award show their concert, they literally own the stage. And US tv arent ready for that. LOL But for BTS to do this on Grammys is quite amazing really. They are so amazing. They try not to overdo it when they pwrform outsixe their comfort zone, bec in korea/asia music awards they really give the best of the best performance and stage production, if i say production, i mean 100 people in intro alone + animals. 🤣 And yes, they do complex live performances. They dont lipsyncing thei performances, only backtracks since they are sometimes out of breath because of the intense movements.

Their Japanese songs my goodness, vocal line is just beyond words. “Your Eyes Tell, “Stay Gold” to begin with.

I just gotta say I've just watched the Grammy performance of Butter and omg I loved the concept of them being being art (heart) thieves. the dance break was just wowzer and amazing and jin did so well joining in on the last chorus eventho every tiny movement hurts his hand. Also this performance to me must be my fav performance of Butter and I sure hope that their next comeback has a spy/art thieve type concept and this performance had me speechless and just amazed. Also every member was amazing and totally wrecked me.

Just for added info, the theme was 'art heist' and they used the 'smooth like butter, like criminal undercover' line as their concept. Jin (as he had a hand injury and couldn't take part in the main part of the dance) was in the control room, co-ordinating the 'criminals undercover' as they entered the gallery. Take another look and you will see pictures on the wall behind them. As the first part of the performance progresses, these pictures disappear one by one. After they negotiate the lasers, the now empty walls suddently are filled with graffiti and words from their older songs. As Suga starts his rap, the disappearing pics are replaced by pics of the guys from throughout their career. BTS don't do anything by halves, the performance is never just singing and dancing, there is always something going on in the background and that often isn't obvious on the first watch as we are bedazzelled by their singing and dancing.

They sing live, they can't lip sync for shit... they run on treadmill & sing to build up lung capacity & stamina for their live shows. They train between 12 to 16 hours a day.

Iconic performance, deserved Grammy

What a party is right! BTS performs for 3 hours at their concerts, no opening act. Stadium shows sell out in under 2 hours and never hit general public sales. It's a light show, pyrotech, everyone is dancing. It is so much fun!!!!

This performance is so amazing but this is just almost half of what really a performance for them. Their korean award show performance are iconic especially MMA 2019!

I think the word you're looking for is charisma. They all have it. The concept of this performance comes from the lyrics: "Smooth like butter, like a criminal undercover". Jungkook that enters from the ceiling at the beginning is like a thief coming down into an art museum and getting access with the card to the room where the art is. Hence the laser beam security field and the disappearing art on the back wall eventually filled with graffiti & pictures of BTS like thieves leaving their calling card. Jin had surgery on his hand a couple weeks & the doctors told him he shouldn't be doing the hard choreography which is why he's got the black cast on and is playing the part sitting down in the security control room. He joins the easier dance sequences toward the end so he could be a part of it. While the soul of BTS is as musicians, they aren't just lyricists, singers & dancers. They're performers so every part of a concept is thought through. They've got over 300 songs in their discography and a ton of performance content online. If you want to explore more, it should only take a couple years to catch up with all their content. 🙂Enjoy the ride!

BTS always sings live. They do use a backing vocal track to add to it, but they are singing live. BTS are always FIRE with their live performances. I really like your reactions and I'm glad you're interested to see more. The English songs don't really have that much depth to it lyrically, but once you get to their Korean songs, I definitely recommend paying attention to the lyrics, because they're a huge part of why BTS is so successful. I would recommend Black Swan to start with. It's a newer song and features more contemporary style of dance than BTS usually do. The lyrics are very meaningful and as an artists yourself, you might identify yourself with it.

BTS ALWAYS sing live they didn't practice running on treadmills to get their breath control for nothing. Yes there is a backing track but they always sing live MICS ARE ALWAYS ON IN THIS HOUSE.

Enjoyed the reaction. It was a great performance, but honestly, they were giving about 30% of what they can actually do if given free reign but the Grammys, well, they can't handle that...

That is what 7+ years hard work gets you.

I don't know if anyone has told you yet but they are together since 2011 practicing for over 2 years of dancing, writing, composing, and dancing before their debut in 2013 even since then they still practice a lot. So they have years of experience, that's why many people think they don't sing live because it's so good to believe it's true. You should react to the tiny dest performance where you will hear their vocals are on point. BTS covers a lot of genres and every album has a meaning so the lyrics are important in most of their songs. Their English songs that are Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to dance don't have a deep meaning they are just to sell in the American market but all of their other work do have special meaning.

Bts almost NEVER lip sync, cuz uM, they’re bad at lipsyncing lmao and they have the talent to actually sing and dance at the same time. A couple more things you should know: I mentioned Jin in an earlier comment, Jung Kook, the MAKNAE (youngest) got out of COVID QUARATINE the DAY BEFORE & J-HOPE had COVID THE WEEK B4 & flew to US on Friday. JIMIN had his appendix removed 6 weeks ago. They had one day (actually less) to practice and there was much new to learn and they PERFECTED IT! UNREAL! UNBELIEVABLE! PROFESSIONAL! STUNNING! SUPERLATIVE! SPECTACULAR! MIND-BLOWING! THIS IS WHO THEY ARE IN EVERY SINGLE PERFORMANCE! EXTRA, EXTRA! They are so beloved!

Nobody mentions the graphics in the background, to play to the art heist theme, as they arrive on the main stage the framed artwork begins to disappear (they have stolen it) at the 3/4 point of the performance all the framed art is gone and graffiti is being drawn across the walls as a "we've been here statement". Excellent. Jin was the member in the large control room at the beginning, he had recently had surgery on his finger 2 weeks before and couldn't do the complex dance moves, he joined in at the last. Jungkook had been released from CV quarantine 1 day before the Grammy's and the entire team only had 1 day together to practice on the Grammy's stage. J-hope had arrived in Vegas about 2 days before the Grammy's from Korea as he was also released from his CV quarantine on April 1. They did an outstanding job, true professionals in the light of adversity.

Jin was in the separate "recording studio" room, because his hand was injured. He joined the rest of the group to dance in the final segment.

BTS mma 2019 performance would be their best performance ever. i have never seen anything like that in my life. live animals on stage at a stadium size arena you should watch that too. Korea has a very big budget on their award shows in general

Can’t spell BEST without BTS. And yes they are live. Always live. They don’t know how to lip sync. They’ve been trained to sing AND dance since their debut in 2013. These “English” songs do not showcase their true talent compared to their Korean songs. Ppl who listen to their English songs makes them sound like some bubble gum pop group. BTS always sing live - It is a matter of pride for them. they do have a backing track playing in case of breathlessness, but for the majority of time it is their actual vocals. They trained running on treadmills while singing to get voice stability while dancing. enjoying your reactions. Hope you do more BTS - you really haven't seen anything yet. They announced last night that they're dropping a new album on June 10th. The first two weeks of June are what BTS calls "Festa". It's a celebration of their debut anniversary and they release a LOT of new content during those two weeks. It's going to be interesting for them to have a comeback at the same time.

Here is some info about this performance, BTS almost didn't perform at the Grammys. Jin had injured his finger and had to have surgery 2 weeks before this performance so he couldn't dance with them, but he did join them a little at the end of the performance. And 2 other members had covid right before the Grammys. J-Hope got it in South Korea and was unable to fly to Las Vegas until 2 days before the Grammys and Jungkook got it after arriving in Las Vegas and luckily he got of quarantine and tested negative the day before the Grammys. So they only had 1 day to rehearse with all 7 members. They said they only got the entire performance right once during rehearsals because something would always go wrong. The jacket part was also difficult because even if 1 member was off the jackets would get tangled. This was actually BTS 3rd Grammy performance. In 2020 they performed Old Town Road alongside Lil Nas X, in 2021 they performed Dynamite remotely from South Korea because of the pandemic they were unable to fly to the US. So this was their first performance at the actual ceremony as lead performers. They were nominated last year for Dynamite but lost to Rain On Me by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, and this year they lost to Doja Cat and Sza's Kiss Me More, but they still gave an amazing performance. And as good as this performance is their Korean award show performances are even more mind blowing than this one. Particularly their MMA (Melon Music Awards) 2019 performance, they did a 37 minute performance at a freaking award show and it was incredible, especially the 2nd half.

Everytime BTS do a performance on stage, they are singing it Live. If you watch more of their videos you'll be more amazed because most of their dance are so powerful, strong, intense and solid steps. BTS is also known as synchronize group when it comes to dancing. They have 3 rappers and 4 vocals. But all of them can sing. The rappers are just doing fun of their voices. But if they are serious, they have a beautiful voice too. The BTS founded on 2010 and debut last 2013. Please if you do more reactions of them, I suggest you read the lyrics and watch the explanation of each song. Their songs are too powerful. It heals a person, give hopes, and motivates us. Most of their songs also discussed about pain and how to fight it, mental health, social justice and more. just giving u little bit information. 🤗 And if you are wondering how they can sing while dancing..... well.... thanks to their training days. They do physical training to maintain their voice and avoid out of breath during their performance..
