First Love, The Last, and So Far Away were the songs that made Suga my bias. Prior to listening to them, I had never in my life heard an artist convey so much raw emotion. He truly captivated me, and he's been my bias ever since. I still cry whenever I listen to some of his older music.

"First Love" wasn't actually ALL about the piano. It was generally about his music. The piano was his first love, and so was music. When things were tough between his family and his career, alongside his work and the world, he felt like pushing music away, "the piano", to relieve some of his burdens. Turns out it wasn't the best idea because it will always be there and will always be a part of him no matter what. So he came back to it and embraced it. If you want to see SUGA playing piano, on his D-DAY solo concert tour he played Life Goes On on a piano every single show. That’s the most recent you can see him playing. But the one I really love was when he spontaneously played the piano in his hotel room in Japan late last year. He posted it on his ig reel and at that time it was the most viewed ig reel in 24hrs garnering 30M views. ✨💜💜

If you didn't know Suga is a genius. He captures your heart and soul. He hypnotizes you into his childhood experience. The arena lowers into silence just like a quiet echoing library. He poetically and lyrically tells his childhood story with an orchestral tone. His words play us. And we join in communion to his deep feelings and deep abyss. We are his until he let's go and the curtain falls theatrically and with a thud felt in our hearts forever. Like I said. Suga is a genius and also a brilliant moving actor. Bravo. Applause. Umm this does have the most incredible live performance!!! Watch that!! It's literally one of the most EPIC performances for Suga. Im surprised no one said that already. It's a must.

First Love always makes me cry (Interlude: Shadow always has me a sobbing mess), and the live is definitely worth it. The power and emotion he pours into it live.... It blows me away. But also feels like a supportive hug.💜😻 I can't remember if you've seen Jin performing Epiphany live, because he plays the piano during it.💜 All the members are multi-talented, and it's always so wonderful to watch someone discover, yet another, new aspect to them. yoongi loves instrumentals and film scores and he incorporates the strings and the piano with this grand vibe in a lot of his productions, like you said hans zimmer-esque he is a big fan of hans zimmers and ryuichi sakamoto (he got to collab with him on snooze)... you can hear more of it in so far away (the original one with suran and the version with jin and jungkook), interlude dream, interlude dawn, snooze, stay alive (by jungkook, prod suga) and his collab with samsung for the over the horizon ringtone in 2021

A lot of the songs Suga produces he goes cinematic quite often... BTS songs like Let Me Know, Tomorrow, or solo songs like Intro: Most Beautiful moment in life, Nevermind, The Last, Snooze (played by Ryuichi Sakamoto Japanese musician who wrote many film soundtracks and a huge inspiration for Yoongi).... If you want to hear him play you can watch his performances on his recent tour of "Seesaw" he is on the guitar and "Life Goes on" (by Agust D not BTS) on the piano! Beautiful solo songs! Also their performance of "Yet to Come" on mcountdown he has a beautiful piano opening

Do not underestimate rap the lyrics of the rap line are incredible each one has a unique essence they even tell us revealing things like personal feelings, secrets through their raps it is always important to pay attention to details

When you get time you should definitely check out the live performance of First Love. It is 100 times better than the lyrical video. Suga is a story teller and ultimate performer.

i was one of those people that recommended this to you in your first or second reaction to bts, and I'm so glad you finally got to hear it! yoongi is such a good storyteller. as someone who also plays piano, but hasn't played it in a while (because life happened in between), it makes me a bit emotional whenever i hear this. more than just a first love, yoongi talks about his piano like an old friend, and it makes me realize i kind of think of the piano this way too. the song he was playing in the clip you watched is jungkook's solo from the same album - begin. it's a great song also with rather emotional lyrics, and can't wait until you get to hear that one too.

Hi guys! I'm sure you've had lots of comments about other suggestions, but I thought I'd add mine too heh. For more Suga songs with a big instrumental focus: Snooze (he actually collaborated with the late Japanese movie composer Ryuichi Sakamoto for this one!) and So Far Away. Both of those songs are also attached in the album tracklists to some amazing instrumental interludes--Interlude_dream, Reality and Interlude: Dawn respectively. If you want a good video of Suga playing the piano, there are a few clips of him playing an acoustic version of I Need U and a video on his Instagram of his cover of Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence. As for a performance, he did play piano on his tour, specifically for his version of Life Goes On that appears on his most recent album. There are plenty of videos out there of that I'm sure. For other BTS songs in this category I would highly recommend Jin's solo song Awake! (Also showcases some amazing Jin vocals and on the tour they had an orchestra on stage with him for this performance!) Many of BTS' Japanese songs are also really strong on cinematic, swelling instrumentals as well: Crystal Snow, Film Out, and Your Eyes Tell to name just a few. This song is a masterpiece. The live is even more emotional,hearing the raw emotion of his voice. My favorite thing yoongi did with this song is how he personified the piano, he speaks in the perspective of the piano and you can hear it in the change of his voice in those parts.

There is a touching scene near the end of “ Road to D-Day” documentary. Suga plays one of his hero’s greatest works from the score of the movie “The Last Emperor” on the piano for the man himself, Ryuichi Sakamoto. After that Mr. Sakamoto plays for Suga. Sakamoto worked with Suga on “Snooze” and passed away from cancer about a month before the D Day album was released. Suga had a tribute for Mr. Sakamoto during his concert. (Since this is on Disney, you probably can’t show here but hope you can see it just for yourselves. It is near the end.)

For me, the lines "Don't ever feel sorry to me, I will get to meet you again NO MATTER WHAT FORM" signifies how he can always meet his first love, MUSIC. Which was given to him by the piano in his childhood. There was a sense of assurance from MUSIC that it will never leave him even though he neglected it for long. It will always be there in any way, shape, or form, even not with piano.

I don’t think I saw anyone mention it in the video or in the comments but one of the things I love the most that is in this song and a few other BTS songs is their tendency to change their voice tone or style to signal that someone else is speaking (like in this song) or that something is being said sarcastically (like in Ugh) in this video at about 4:13 he changes his tone and style to let us know it’s the piano that is talking. I don’t know of many if not any other artist that does this and it’s probably one of my favorite things. Probably because it’s a storyteller’s tactic and to use it in music is just… so clever. 💜💜

This is such a beautiful emotional song.The song itself is a biographical mini movie. Between his voice, the melody and lyrics I am in tears again.😭 The wonderful greatness about BTS songs are that you can really feel their genuine sincerity which resonates and makes you relate compared to a lot of the songs out there nowadays in general. SUGA really knows how to tuck at my heart with his music. I have my own piano story and this just brought back my own memories as well. I always thought SUGA is a great storyteller with his music. Love that I get to experience all this and much more to come in my lifetime.💜

Getting teary eyed when listening to Yoongi’s songs. So far away is another one. It helps me a lot when I lose focus on my dreams and when I feel like giving up, that song pulls me back up.

I relate to First Love a lot since I also learned to play on that acoustic brown piano we have at home back at my hometown and now that I finally bought a proper Digital Piano for my apartment these are the two songs I'm learning on it 💜 Speaking of Snooze, I really recommend it to have as a CCW pick if you'll find a free spot one day. It is feat. When I started listening to bts songs I wasnt much into rap songs so kept pushing the rap line solos for later *my ignorant self*. But, idk if you guys know about Bang bang con but it was this special streaming of almost all of bts concerts, that happened back to back for two days I guess in the pandemic times, so on the first day, I woke up- saw the notif of bang bang con and played it- wings concert was going on and suga's solo started... He started performing first love and even without knowing the lyrics I was so moved by the music and the rawness in his performance, started crying without even noticing it! And I couldn't control was tears as well... Went straight to check the song and the lyrics just 💔. Changed my view for the rap line solos completely. It's an absolutely beautiful song and will always remain in my top 5 Suga solos.

First Love and Stigma are both from the Wings album - the first time every member had a solo song on the album - and I can promise you every single one of those solos is amazing. You mostly listend to the LY-era solos which are great too (and a lot more upbeat..) but the Wings-era solos will always be my favourites because every single one of them can make me cry even now when I listen to them now years later
