This song is from Map of the Soul:7 Album which was released into their 7th year of career. The album has the solo songs- Persona(RM) , Shadow(Shadow) and Ego(J-Hope) performed by the members of the rap line. This is actually an abridged version of the song and the full song has one more verse which you can listen to on a lyric video if you want. This MV and the song depicted a battle between Yoongi's real self and his Shadow self which is full of these negative thoughts and his greed. You get the point of view of his shadow self as denoted by the sinister shift in the music. They have another album by the name Map of the Soul: Persona which was released before the MOTS:7 Album. BTS really love their duology or trilogy of albums and songs so you may sometimes get confused between the various album names. No pressure though😅. Thanks so much for reacting!💜

This is such a great song. A great example of the Shadow part of the Map of the Soul psychological theory of personality development by Carl Jung (pronounced Young with a soft J). Thanks for pronouncing it properly, for some reason it drives me nutty when people don't. Listening to the longer version would be worth it. There are 2 MOTS albums, but I think 7 is filled with insight, advice, acceptance, and all things humans struggle with. Taking a deep dive into this album would be really fun to see you check out. It is a heavy task, but I think ya'll would enjoy the ride. I think human emotion and personality is like a thermostat. If you never feel the cold (shadow of yourself), then appreciation for the warm will not have meaning. You are right. People are often taught to ignore their darker part, or suppress it, then end up being fake, one dimensional, and eventually explode. Granted, that is why pharmaceutical company's make lots of $ on anger, depression anxiety management, but they already have enough bank. Thanks for sharing your take on this song and others.

For context: MOTS: Persona (first album) has songs reflecting how BTS shows themselves to the world, ie. their persona> These include Intro Persona, Boy With Luv, Mikrokosmos, Home, and others. MOTS: 7 (2nd album) includes songs related to shadow and ego. These songs include Interlude: Shadow, ON, Black Swan, Louder than Bombs, Ugh, and We Are Bulletproof the Eternal among others.

This is one of my favorite Suga solo song, mainly for the beat. I came from a Heavy Metal or Hard Rock music background before BTS. This song has everything in it plus Suga was my first Bias. Thank you so much for your reactions 👍👍💜

MOTS7 is their 2020 album, with 20 tracks, incorporating songs from its precursor, MOTS: Persona (2019). Map of the Soul is an exploration of Jung’s psychoanalytic concepts: Persona, Shadow and Ego. RM did the intro (Persona), Suga the interlude (Shadow), and JHope, the Outro (Ego). The other songs each develop an aspect of these concepts that constitute the map of the soul.

It's great :) I love their intros, interludes, and outros. The way they use them is great 10:35 yessss this really clicks for me why I struggled so much as a teen bc I was really intensely following one or the other and the older I get I become better at balancing them 13:25 YOUR MUG JOEL OMG

Basically: Careful what you wish for because he wanted to be all these things, not realising just how lonely it is at the top after you achieve them. These fears and doubts about their fame and success is the shadow Suga explores here, and in the end his Shadow speaks back to him to let him know that the shadow will never leave because they're a part of the same person.

About your fubar wrong title! let's start from the beginning BTS has never had an album called "Map of the Soul"! two different albums originally to be a trilogy of three albums. First album was MAP OF THE SOUL PERSONA released April 12, 2019. BTS army suspected there would be two more albums Map of the Soul SHADOW and Map of the Soul EGO. In late 2019 the second album was announced the final album would be called MAP OF THE SOUL 7 the video you watched MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 "Interlude: Shadow" Comeback Trailer Jan 9, 2020. not a music video. but the album was released on February 21, 2020, the song "ON" as the title track. with performance video ON Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima. "ON" official music video was released a week or two later. The video release was I spoke to you said the first video release was Black Swan Art Film not starring BTS but a Slovenian contemporary dance troupe. the video you watched said comeback trailer not official MV. Once again, I have to give your fubar video a dislike you constantly put the wrong titles on the videos you watched.

That’s an insane reason to dislike a video, because of the title being wrong. The contents of the video is what you should be talking about. The only thing that’s fubar in my reckoning is your reason for a downlike but hey, each to their own I suppose. ✌️💜
