this song to army was released soon after he left for military service. the beginning showed us that he actually created the song while he was also working on his album. very special 💜

Maybe "Closer Than This" is the title because if Army and Jimin sing this song together the distance between them will bring Closer than This💜. I miss you so much Jimin & I love you💜😘

This song, that Jimin wrote & composed, was a special gift from Jimin, to comfort & reassure army, (BTS fans), knowing how much army would be missing the BTS members now all gone to the military temporarily. Jimin, I believe also did some of the drawings as well as chose the photos & clips shown throughout the MV. Jin will be returning the soonest this yr, but most other members will be back to perform once again, all together in June of 2025. 🙏❤‍🔥🥹🫡🥰

I felt Closer Than This means we are closer than this distance. Time away/distance is nothing compared to our bond. We are closer than all that. Always have been and always will be. We can interpret the title depending how you feel your relationship is with BTS. Jimin and the boys often title songs using the meaning/intent of the song vs the catchiest line. This song isn’t just about Never letting go, but about his close bond with ARMY and all our shared experiences. Jin wrote Astronaut with cold play, and J Hope wrote On the Street, V sang a song with UMI called Whevere you are. All were written for ARMY to comfort us during enlistment. They also depict ARMY as small children in their videos so the kids choir represents ARMY. We In this together. It’s a beautiful tribute to ARMY and what we mean to them. We have been their other companion through their journey.

😍🐥That was producer Pdogg’s house shown, where Jimin also wrote most of the lyrics, composed melodies, & helped produce all his songs, worked alongside Pdogg, (legendary in-house BigHit genius producer, along with a couple of other producers, GHSTLOOP & Evan for his whole FACE album! Ft equally must hear songs ❣️“Face Off”, absolute fire❣️Alone”, so deep, beautiful & emotional. Which comes right after ❣️“Like Crazy” which has a full English version I almost prefer, as well, also a ‘hidden’ song ❣️”Letter” (hidden track only in physical album specifically for army), (which Jimin wrote as a thank you to army, & ❣️“Set Me Free Pt.2”. The whole album, as Jimin has mentioned, is what he was trying to convey, pouring his heart out, his very essence, to show what he was going through, during pandemic, his emotions, thoughts, loneliness, despair, depression, that he hoped to share & have many able to relate to! Plus his voice is so beyond heavenly, stunningly beautiful, so eloquent, his ability to convey his feelings, emotions, what the lyrics are trying to say, his approach, the various tones that resonate, making you feel that much more what he’s feeling. What a phenomenal artist he is! Jimin worked close to Pdogg, who he’s become quite close with already when creating Jimin’s earlier hit song “Friends” that he ft, V on, (“Friends” was in Marvel the Eternals film), that Jimin also wrote , composed, as well as helped produce previously, along with other songs in the past. Jimin worked so hard, non stop, while creating his FACE album that he pretty much stayed over Pdogg’s house, all of the 10 months it took to create the album, as shown in Jimin’s FACE production Diary documentary! Plus, as shown here, Jimin apparently worked on other songs with his production crew team. This time for “Closer than This” Jimin even had legendary Ayo the Producer, as well, working on it, who even posted, “we’re far from finished”! It looks like there might be more songs eventually being released as well, but this song was a special gift to army from Jimin knowing how much army would be missing the members now all gone to the military. All these photos, & clips shown are all the times & memories Jimin & rest of BTS shared with army who helped them with all their non stop support throughout the yrs, including helping them receive many of their awards! RM has even mentioned several times in his speeches, as well as ea and every member that there would be no BTS without army and all their love & support! 🙏❤‍🔥🥹😢🥰🐥😇

🔗Interesting Info: ❣Yeon Eum Boys and Girls Choir gave enchanting harmony along with Jimin, truly captivating, especially in the latter part of the song. Jimin's charming vocals blend seamlessly with the pure vocals of the Yeon Eum Boys and Girls Choir, resulting in a beautiful and memorable performance. Also, aside from Jimin writing all the lyrics to this song, he wrote as a fan song just for army, meant to comfort & support while he as well as all members of BTS are all temporarily away in the military, he also is credited with composing the melody! Jimin also, pretty much hand picked the clips & photos chosen that were shown. There were so many occasions that Jimin made a point of telling army afterwards, about how special those particular times were, so meaningful & meant so much to him! I also believe that some of the drawings, sketches seen in the MV for “Closer than This”, were also Jimin’s! It definitely looked like his style. Though for some reason, it’s not known as much in the fandom, Jimin is quite impressive in his artwork, as seen in some rare times during run episodes & or behind the scenes..Jimin excelled not only in art class but Jimin also took calligraphy, which shows in the way he writes as well! Throughout the yrs, there is so much of Jimin’s input, talent & artistry that’s sadly not shown or acknowledged. ❤‍🔥🙏🐥😇😍🔥🔥

This song was truly made for ARMY. He only made this music video and it is only on streaming platforms. There's no fysical single you can buy etc. Nor is there any promotional material etc.

This song has never been performed live. Jimin released it AFTER he was gone. The only other time we heard a snippet was a dance teaser Jimin did to this song prior to release. He composed it at the same time as his FACE album but only released it after he left for the military. So you could not have heard it before.

This song has never been performed live. It wasn't even released until a few days after Jimin went into the military and they can't be in a video while they're in the military. They can't even film them when the members that were already in the military showed up to support the ones enlisting. They can take photos, but not videos. Also, BTS do actually worry that ARMY will forget them. It's not exactly a rational fear, but it is a fear that they've expressed before.

It's funny that AICH said he thought the background images were just there to fill in ... cuz ARMY recognized every single picture and drawing. But it's great advertising that Jimin and team did that bc it could cause interest for possible-ARMY. There was no need for OG ARMY to have the titles of where the clips came from lol 😂😂. Although I'm not OG ARMY, I still recognized them since I was introduced to BTS in early 2020 during a time when there were rumblings about a new virus and then binge-watched 7 years of content over about a year, when the world was forced to slowed down. Keep it up guys!! 💜

yes, this was his gift to army for the temporary goodbye while completing his military service. He, along with JK enlisted Dec 12, and the song came out Dec 22.

I thought like Aitch that the song should have been called "never let you go". This would have been prepared and recorded before they all enlisted in december, I wonder what else Jimin has prepared for us. I hope. The song is very catchy, very Jimin.

Yup jimin recorded the song and worked on it along when he was working on his album so anywhere between the beginning of 2022 to beginning of 2023 prior to FACE release

I know it's probably not right but to me it feels like every spots to something he reacted to a song called Love letters by Army a song for BTS. You guys should react to that song to and to the members reaction it's very interesting to see the different ways to express what they're feeling Jimin RM and Jungkook did reactions to the song that was given as a gift to them.
