You only react to their live performance right?@@wrighteousj Have you tried reacting to their explanation vids? Their silly songs are actually pretty deep. You should try "Spine Breaker EXPLAINED by a Korean" I swear this song has so much more than what meets the eye.
I waited for the iconic “that’s my guy” after the two pauses of Hobi in screen. JK broke at the end from laughing at his Jin just being Jin, Jin’s life motto is always keep em guessing of what your next move is.
The choreo was made by Jin...its very literal to the song 😅. They made up a "MV" to this on an episode of BTS Gayo (on weverse) in a hotel room. It's hilarious
I came to see if someone told him about it! 😂 make sure to read the credits! Whoever was singing i think is who laughed...I think it was JK. ❤ yes I too freaking love themm!! 💜
There is a music video to this song, which they directed themselves, each member had a role costuming, snack person, choreography, etc. Spine breaker refers to things that kids would beg their parents, (jackets, watches, phones) for no matter how expensive-causing their parents to work until they break their backs to get their kids what they want, essentially BTS telling those youths to stop being selfish and greedy, that's a very basic explanation. Beautiful song at the end!🔥💜🎻🎸🎶
3:18 Tae's deep deep voice added another texture to the song. I think this is one of the most hilarious mv and perf they ever did.. pls watch the original mv which they shot in a hotel room, and they were wearing those Queen Elizabeth pale pink blazers. NGL, they still look good 😊🥰
Ahh Spinebreaker! This video is from 5th Muster: Magic Shop, which is a special fan concert where they tend to do more b-sides and fun stuff like this! "Spinebreaker" was a song off one of their early albums that wasn't terribly popular or successful. During one of their tours, they were filming a bunch of fun variety show content for ARMY and one of the last challenges they were assigned was to pick one of their less popular b-sides and make a music video for it using just what they had with them in the hotel. They picked "Spinebreaker" - a song about how young people in Korea were "breaking their parents' spines" by demanding expensive designer clothes to keep up with trends. Then they assigned each other jobs - Jin was the choreographer haha - and filmed and edited the MV themselves with whatever they had in the hotel with them. ARMY LOVED it (of course) and it became one of those hidden gems of the fandom. So when 5th Muster came around, they dug out the jackets they wore in the MV and we got a special performance, haha. I think this one was in Busan, where Jimin and Jungkookie are from! They have several performances that are just kinda fun and silly or unexpected, especially for musters and fanmeets (vs. tour shows). They've done "cute" versions of their songs in dorky outfits, they've covered each others' songs, they've performed some of their sexier choreo in goofy onesies... BTS is never afraid to be goofy for us. I love it.
Haha so back story is that they had to create the music video for this as a challenge. They were in a hotel with random clothes and props and this is basically what they came up with. The behind the scenes on creating the MV is fking hilarious
JK always breaks up!!! Jin can make them all laugh but especially the Maknaes!! As already mentioned, this was a recreation of a MV spoof they did for Spine Breaker! You need to see it!! So much fun!! These guys love to make Army happy, and love to have fun! No matter what they look like doing it!! You just can’t not love them!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
All of BTS are closet comedians at heart and love to be ridiculous on stage. They really got silly in the MV and the live stage too. Jin’s only song he did choreography too 💜💜💜
Choreographer Jin is still one of my fav in the industry... simply bcos I CAN actually dance to his choreo without pulling any muscle or breaking any bones on my body
It gets even more awesome and hilarious when you realize that this is the actual concept of the music video, self-made mv made in a hotel while on tour. Legendary choreo by Jin btw. I love Spine Breaker so freaking much. Despite the silly mv, the song sends a strong message. Well, it's BTS what else could we expect. Go watch the mv rn it's just great! The one laughing at the end was JK who was filming Jin. XD
They've shot their improvised MV at at their hotel room as a challenge too! It's so much fun! THIS is why BTS attracts millions. Their energy, their honesty, being in the moment. I love that they don't have a typical style but they do have unique personalities. I'm so waiting for Jin to come back in less than 3 months now!
Don't let the chaos fool you! The song is a very clear critique to the society, especially South Korea's youth that always wants to go with the trends and demand their parents to buy them new stylish stuff, especially the ones who come from poor background, bc they want to fit in not caring for their parents 'breaking their backs" to provide for them even when it's hard. There was this boom at some point in Korea for North Face padded jackets (we all know they're expensive as f*ck), everyone wanted to have one to the point kids who had them were bullied to give them away to their bullies. I suggest for you to check out the lyrics and watch the explanation video
I enjoyed rewatching this chaotic live performance of the boys with you😂.. the lyrics of Spinebreaker is about social awareness among teens, it's about how they expect their parents to provide for everything they want to keep up that their parents figuratively "break their spines" for working hard to earn more for what their kids ask from them. The boys created a hilarious choreo and the mastermind of the choreo was Jin who was also losing it during their live performance 💜. I love Scars.. thank you & will include it in my playlist. Love from the 🇵🇭 😊.
The song is one of their older ones and addresses kids practically hounding their parents to buy them the latest clothing trends, even if their parents can't afford it. They call the kids "spinebreakers" because their parents are breaking their backs working to get enough money for the latest trend. They basically tell the kids to either suck it up and do without or get off their rear ends and get a job and buy the items themselves.
Haven't watched this performance in a while and this was a perfect way to wake up with. I miss Bangtan and their goofyness so much!! Also...Scars is a beautiful song!!
Big Daddy Joon setting the beat, Sope showing us they have so much fun together, Jin being Jin. This is why we're Amry. Thanks J! And I think it was JK laughing at the end.
I really enjoyed listening to your song that came out in the latter part of the video~ The song was really great. And since your bias is J-Hope, I strongly recommend SOPE's Otsukare by J-Hope and Suga. You'll see a performance that exceeds expectations!!! 💜💜
Hola, Amo a BTS son lo mejor, y el solo de JIN inigualable magnífico y tu musica es genial e tenido la oportunidad de escucharla y tu intensidad es grandiosa. Saludos desde MEXICO 💜
You *need* to see them making the MV for this one. 😂 They did it themselves for their variety show BTS Gayo ep 15. It's freakin hilarious. 🤣 (But in true BTS style it's actually a song calling out whiny kids pressuring their parents to get them the latest trend even if they have to break their backs working hard to earn the money. 😉) 💜
Even though they approached the performance and the self mv in a comical way, the lyrics and the meaning of this song are great and deep! I had a great time watching your reaction to this song, thank you! love you!
If you type in spinebreaker with English subtitles, it’ll come up with that version. That’s what I’ve done for any of their videos that don’t have a CC option.
Oh, and I don't know if you noticed, but it's always one of the members behind the phone that they're using. You can see that there's only six people in frame when they're dancing in pairs. Hamming it up for a camera on stage with them during a live performance is something that they've done for years, using different songs. Most of the time, they use a regular camera, though, instead of a phone.
I just really love the way BTS make social commentary acceptable with hilarious choreo and catchy songs. They did the same thing with BAEPSAE and the crotch thrusts and hilarious dancing just got wilder the more they performed it. So these songs tackle both ends of the spectrum. Whereas BAEPSAE critiques the older generations criticism of young people. This song admonishes young people for constantly asking for things their parents cannot afford breaking their spine.
5th Muster, Magic Shop in Busan... 2019... JK was laughing and singing... RM was not happy with shorts and suit ;) so Jimin focused on that immediately ;) Hobi lost his round glasses while hoovering above floored Jimin. The best is to watch official DVD from Busan with their creation in corner and see all mess. "O.K.cut,. Where did my glasses go?"
Thank you again for another reaction to our boys! It was Jungkook laughing at the end and in case you didn’t see already Jin came up with the chaotic choreo. I hope things go well for you and your band. I forgot to say this but The Rose is also an independent artist like you guys. So I hope you guys can prove the industry wrong like they have. Ps. Recommendations for another reaction is an artist called DPR IAN. He has a song called “Go Insane” thats really good.
aaaaaa....finnaly you're react this one, SPINE BREAKER is about There used to be a jacket trend in Korea, because the jackets were good. all young people bought the jacket. while the poor also want to buy, but by forcing their elderly parents to work hard to be able to buy their children's jackets. that's why taehyung's part said "does wearing that make you feel like 'rockin, rollin, swagger, swanger. wrong!" then Jin's part "lalalalalala...you are a burden on your parents" AYYY.. next react JUMP stage mix ✨
BTS are fucking kings! I love how they're always recreating their own memes always roasting eachother and doing self parodies. I mean it's only possible because they have such a huge fan following, but they do and are such a cultural powerhouse unto themselves they can do it and everyone just loves them even more for it.
If you like Sope interactions (Suga J Hope) you NEED to watch Otsukare Sope version, a trot inspired jokey song written by them... also the SOPE Airplane pt 2 dance break. Suga and Jhope are like drunk uncles bouncing about
