They do usually drop the mic. Suga (the guy holding it at the end) secretly swaps his mic for a dummy one so he can drop it while Jin (I think?) taps his mic to create the thud sound.

He didn't drop the mic because they were transitioning to a performance of "Idol", which is a song that totally gets the crowd fired up (and entire stadiums singing "You can't stop me loving myself")

I've been in so many concerts because I love different genres of music, for example I've been at Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Metallica, The Cure, Backstreet Boys, Cold Play, Taylor Swift , Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Ramnstein, The Weekend, KISS , Depeche Mode and more, I love concerts ,next week I'll be at Bruce Springsteen concert here in Milan (I live here). But believe me, BTS IS THE BEST CONCERT'VE EVER BEEN in my life. I went to their concert in 2019 IN PARIS .THE'RE THE BEST OF THE BEST BY SO FAR. INSANE PERFORMERS. THEIR CONCERT HAS EVERYTHING GROUP PERFORMANCES, SUBUNITS LIKE RAP LINE, VOCAL LINE AND SOLOS PERFORMANCES , MOTIVATIONAL SPEECHES WITH GREAT MESSAGES. I mean, there's everything in their concerts. THEY'RE AMAZING SINGERS, RAPPERS, DANCERS,STORYTELLERS. I'm already saving money for their comeback 2025. Thank you for your reaction.💜💜

The vibe from Busan Concert of this song Mic Drop is much better.

If you guys want to see more of the boys' vocals, I highly recommend "Your eyes tell", "The truth Ultold" and "Film out" in the live version, it's a slow songs without choreography and very focused on the vocals. Thanks guys for the reaction 💜

As others have said, Yoongi usually does swap for a cheap/dummy mic to drop for one-off televised performances. This was the final show of the tour, at home, in S. Korea's biggest stadium. I suspect that Yoongi didn't swap out for a dummy mic to drop because the timing of the set list wouldn't have allowed for him to get his real mic back in time & seamlessly for the next song. If you look closely, you'll see the mic he's holding out is custom studded with black Swarovski crystals - that's not something you wanna be dropping on the ground.

For hip hop, I recommend Cyphers 1-4, DDAENG, UGH, Interlude: Shadow, Tear, Intro: Persona. They are solo or rap line BTS songs. There are many more that combine rap and vocal line but these would show you how capable they are. The rap line also have solo works that are amazing but I didn’t want to overwhelm you. 😊

They are all in the military right now. Most did solo projects prior and Jin comes home in June and will do his solo work. They will all be back June 2025. You will like the music video.

You often hear the lives raps with a change of cadence or pauses in them. Yoongi does this a lot to prove to the haters that they're performing live and not miming. The vocal line sometimes change bits of lyrics live for the same reason. 100% awesone genuine live performances 🤩

They each dropped solo work before going in to the military. They will be back as a group in 2025. They also have solos within BTS. Enjoy BTS More is a great channel for live with correct subs! Mic Drop is BTS' response to their haters with a little flexing on the side spitting facts...lol. with Suga's epic lines "tasteless ratatouille" & "sue it". I recommend you check their latest live performance of Mic Drop from their Yet To Come Busan concert last October 2022 where it was attended by 70k live audience and was livestreamed by over 50M worldwide causing the apps to crash from time to time....but so worth it. One of the great things about BTS is that they've always allowed each member to have their own flavor. It has made it so that if they ever get a song that resonates with them, at least one member can take the lead on setting the vibe.

there guys are still in a group. They did solo work while each of the member's were conscripted into the military. In Korea men from18-30 must serve 18-22 months of military service. BTS was no exception. The first member to go in,Jin is the first (next month) to come out. They will be doing a World tour when all members are out.

BTS did debut in 2013 as a HIP HOP IDOL Group, but they also do other genre's. They are well known for crossing and fusing many genre's into their discography, and they are not afraid to try new things or cover controversial topics. Also, they do solo projects, but they have always put the group goals first as their priority, and right now they are serving their mandatory military service, so they wanted to officially debut as solo artists before enlistment, so they could experiement and grow as artists. That way when they come back in 2025 as a full team, they can get the longevity as BTS that they desire. If anyone can do it, they certainly can. I can't wait for their comeback as a group. In the meantime, we are enjoying all the content they have meticulously prepared before enlisting. The instruments they use that are traditional are Korean instruments. SUGA is one that is known for using tradition instruments in his production. He normally drops the MIC, but if there is another song that they are performing after, he can't drop it. The MV has a lot of MIC's dropping, if you want the MIC's to drop.

They always have a mixture of choreographed and non choreographed parts in their concerts. They also do solo and sub-unit songs. Non-stop adrenaline for a few hours. I recommend watching a medley video where they sing 3 or 4 songs back to back. There are a few but I love the medley of Dope, Baepsae, Fire and Idol at the Love Yourself: Speak Yourself concert at Osaka. Even more impressive than the high adrenaline, intense choreo whilst singing in that they sing in Japanese rather than Korean.

BTS began as a HipHop group and grew from there. They can do almost any genre and do it extremely well! This recording was a bit chaotic and hard to follow. As others have recommended, the Busan concert was incredible... and just go right into the Run BTS song that immediately follows MicDrop. FYI: Suga usually does drop the mic at then end! Just for Shits and Giggles... Look for live performances of "Film Out" or "Your Eyes Will Tell". These show their amazing vocal performances as well!! 💜

RM and Suga(aka Agust D) prior to being BTS were underground Rappers in the South Korean Hip Hop scene under different stage names. While the J Hope was a Street Dancer and listening to RM Suga and some of their friends Battle Rapping wanted to learn to write lyric and rap so Suga gave hims a few pointers and a bit of coaching. These are the 3 Rappers of BTS they are the main song writers and producers within the 7 members.

Hi, I'm new to your channel! Mic Drop is a hip hop song telling their haters off. BTS has over a dozen genres and about 300 more songs. Full group, vocal line,,rap line, and solos. They are the ones who brought k-pop to the western world, and they are far ahead of other k-pop groups in terms of creativity and performance. This was the largest world tour this year, surpassing all other groups and artists. You can't go wrong hopping into this rabbit hole. I won't make suggestions because everyone else will. I'm not in a community or chat group because I don't know what those are or how they work.

BTS was originally meant to be a hip hop group, with the first 3 members all rap line artists. So they have a lot of hip hop influences. RM, their leader, has always said that the members need to listen to various styles of music and artists and made playlists for the members to listen to, so that they were exposed to and learn from these artist. They have multiple genres of music in their discography, and are quite diverse. Couple of suggestions: Outro Tear ( esp live ), Hip Hop Phile - where they talk about who inspired them, Born Singer - reimagined from J Cole’s Born Sinner, and a personal favorite Dis-ease. They use a live band on their shows and also change up the score so it will be different to the studio versions used in the MVs. The Live versions are always better. The energy is next level.

As you continue your reaction to BTS, it is best to set aside your expectations that are based on Western Boy Bands. For instance,some reactors aske " who is the Justin Timberlake" meaning who will leave and break up the band. BTS signed another multiplr year contract in 2022. As stated in another post, they are all serving their mandatory military service right now but they all have vowed, multiple times, to reunite in 2025. BTS members all released solo work for years. Most albums kick off with a solo track but they all gave other solo work. Starting in 2022, they started to go to the milutary. All did solo work since then at staggered intervals prior to entry into the military. One more thing, at times they perform in units-- rap or vocal. Whether they perform as a unit ir full group, all have significant parts of the song unlike many Western boybands that have a lead and the rest are there as support

They've always done solo work but the 3 Rappers had most solo work but the 4 vocalist have also had solo work but were did it less often as they were learning. They are a group of 7 solo artists in one Super Group.

As commented here, BTS started out as a hip-hop group centered around RM (the guy with the gravelly voice). Their rap line is made up of RM and Suga, who were both underground rappers, and J-Hope, who was a hip-hop street dancer and learned rapping from the other two. They all have solo mixtapes and recent albums that are more their styles. Suga even has another name he goes by when doing solo music: August D. If you’d like to react to the one solo rap song, I suggest August D (song) off his first mixtape August D.

Fans usually recommend live performances but there is a truly excellent MV for this song, Mic Drop Steve Aoki remix, they do drop the mike in that version. BTS did start as a hip hop group, then they branched out to cover other genres.

hi! so, they usually drop the mic, but they didn't here because they were directly transitioning into another song! anyways, it was very nice to watch you guys, if you enjoy hip hop, early bts will go well with you - hip hop lover, the cyphers, paldogangsan (although this one is difficult for foreigners to understand in their own, but there are explanation guides!) etc. i'd really recommend the cyphers for more hip hop inclined listeners, but if you like a grittier song, more like a mixture with rock, you would enjoy tear and airplane pt2! jhope's album jack in the box is also very influenced by rock - i think the rappers solo works really shine when it comes to hip hop, like right place wrong person, rm or agust d, d2, d-day or hope world. for their dischography in general, it's not difficult to find a song you like because they have a great variety of music! if you like calmer hip hop, more melodic, mono is the place to go, as well converse high, miss right etc. hope you guys enjoy bts!

Hey guys! This is a popular song, but I gotta say it's not the greatest showcase of their artistry. A while back, I recommended you watch the rap song "Outro: Tear" live, and I stand by that. A couple of notes: In South Korea their LAST name is 1st and despite 3 of them having KIM as their last name, they are not blood related.

If he did the hand over where he give's his personal live mic to the Back dancer and takes the dub mic from the back up dancer. If that goes smoothly then yes Suga Drops the mic. He isn't going to drop his best personal mic. They all have Personal mic's and back ups mics and they are always live no lip syncing for BTS in fact they'll often make it very clear by removing the mic standing still and all you're hear is either the live band they often have on stage or a musical backing track. The Rappers do it more often, once they made poor Jimin laugh in the middle of him singing and all we heard was his giggle. They do play the stage (do whatever they want) but they have to make their way back to the appointed part of the stage at a give time within a song. They've had full on water fights on stage a huge inflatable slide which the members climbed up and slide down while trying to sing they're pretty insane at times. They are just a bunch of crazy musicians who love the stage.

I was surprised that you thought this wasn’t that choreographed. The choreography doesn’t have them in tight formation but they are dancing in rotation and sometimes as a whole group throughout. That doesn’t always happen. They used to do more complete dances in the beginning but they were exhausting themselves and relying on oxygen between sets so they generally pare down the dances now. This is the full Korean version. The Steve Aoki remix has more English in it. They are fervent supporters of Korean culture so use Korean instruments.

Mic bungee -- one drops the mic and the other one "bungees" it back up to keep the flow going.

I've seen videos of live performances where they do drop the mic, but I think it is just a cheap or dummy one usually. The one Suga was holding looked like his personal one, which they all have and they are extremely expensive mics, so he maybe didn't do it this time because of potential damage.

You just described BTS. Their SOLO projects are all so different than their GROUP projects. And their Group projects are always trying new genres'. It just shows you shouldn't put someone in a box.
