Bro, people were doing that in South Texas as far back as the late 90s, around ‘98. And as kids in middle school in ‘00-‘02, we were doing it to copy the older class mates. I suspect everyone across the country was doing that way back then.

Correct Us in the DMV have been cutting the inseam on polo and levis jeans since the early 2000s for sure, slim fits lay better over the new balances and foamposites, goadomes when you make the slit. Pretty dope to see it iterated in today’s trends.

The slit on the side of the denim goes back decades. My dad used to do it in the 90s with his Air Forces. Even I did it back in middle school (06-08) when I used to be super into skating. Don’t let these new guys act like they created it 💀💀

Being from MD I definitely used to see and wear the side slits at the bottom of the jeans but that was years ago and I didn’t even realize it was a DMV thing, I thought more people than just us were doing it. A lot of people didn’t stop at 2 inches though, some slits were much longer than that.

From the DMV here, Yeap we were cutting and cuffing our jeans at the bottom back in junior high in the early 90’s. I remember my parents were PO’d I did this and they had my g-ma sew my swag away :(. Like every Asian g-ma knew how to sew. NB990s and foamposites are DMV claimed too.
