A purple guy arrived on an island filled with animal people in cloaks on a boat and one of the villager "broke" the boat's propeller then took it...I see where this game is going...

manly just wandering around in silence and occasionally uttering "secret..." is fucking psychotic i love it

the endings NEEDS a cutscene or SOMETHING

Honestly, Horror 3d platformers are something that's severely missing as genre

Interesting game, but the endings feel really anti-climactic. Was excited to see the actual outcome of the endings, but it literally instead just tells you in a few words. It just made the game feel incomplete, since it felt like it was just a lot of buildup to nothing.

Cool game, but some wasted oportunities. The endings were rushed - ending abruptly with a text saying something happened. The horror would shine through if in the "scary" parts were silent, the ambiance would be much more scary. Some details would make the experience much more smooth.

This feels a lot less like a horror game intended to feel like a platformer, and more a proper and unironic Collectathon that just so happens to be spooky. I would love to see the devs actually do a full-length game in this style, as the best (And nearly only) we've gotten in years in terms of new games has been A Hat in Time. On that note, AHiT proved you could freak the absolute heck out of the player in a stupidly light-hearted platformer.

I`m so happy that they put the coins as a 2D sprite. I study game development and that technique make possible to insert a ton of coins and details with minimal computational cost.

Wow, this really is just a straight-up 3D platformer. I agree it could have used more scares, but I do respect how well they mimicked the feeling of N64 and PS1 platformers. The cheats in particular are a nice little reward.

Those poor little rats! They don't even attack you, they're totally innocent! Also why does Ritz, who is also a rat, want Bubbo to kill his brethren?

21:51 - 24:07 It may be because Manly was playing on an early review copy, but Gerald is supposed to be chasing you during all of this. It's honestly the worst part of the game, so I'm kinda glad he missed it. During the chase you need to avoid touching Gerald as he flies around and at you, but if you get too far away he rubberbands and teleports in front of you, and just like all the other endings, you have to replay the entire game to try again.

Bubbo's head look like a purple poop...Also the giant person on the background in the thumbnail kinda looks like Baldi but with freaky realistic lips!

This game made me think. I think it would be nice to have a very earnest retro platformer like this, no hidden dark things or whatever, but the game constantly hints at itself being just a front for something sinister. Then the big reveal is it was just a misunderstanding. Maybe that would just feel weaksauce as a product, but I kinda like the idea.

I'm surprised by the amount of weird games you played yet you're never corrupted by them? Is this related by the fact your soul isn't even inside of you?

I will always appreciate Manly's obsession with the minor objectives in these games. The whole game is around him and every time somebody says something his only commentary is "is it more money?"

I will say, it is rare for a "horror" game to luck genuinely fun without a fear aspect to motivate. Makes me curious about . I supposed that isn't important though.

Gotta love the borrowed sound effects. The talking sound reminds me exactly of Banjo and Kazooie, while Bubbo's sounds are awfully close to Mario.

Too bad the endings are so abrupt, everything else is really good. One could complain about some gems being so hard to find but otherwise that game only has strong points in my book.

On the day of release, there were far less flesh platforms and people had all sorts of trouble with it. This is a welcome patch.

The whole rat skull thing reminded me of that one time when i was like 6, i was helping my mom hide easter eggs in our backyard and she found a rat skull while hiding an egg by the pile of firewood (i'm assuming an owl came by and ate one) and i was TERRIFIED of the skull and refused to go near that part of the backyard until my sister took it lol

Its fun that when you watch a Manly vid from Dread Collection, when you watch the first minutes its a kids game, then you scroll to the almost end and you see demons and bloody sacrifices.

I just rewatched Killer Bear and I thought Otto really looked like the Killer Bear himself. Then I saw Buddy and he literally IS Killer Bear.

This game is incredibly awesome. I love the idea of cute, N64 style horror games. I am really looking forward to more of this Dev! However, three things I'd wish the dev would do better next time. 1. Music and sound design. Only the tone of the normal happy music shifting as you progress and get a glimpse of the possible horrors could be enough. And voices for the villagers would be cool, kinda like in Banjo Kazooie, but when shit goes down their voices change. 2. The endings need to be more rewarding, as many others already said. Small animations ingame or cutscenes. Or at least a still with some more text. 3. Some minor changes in the game world, as you progress. The colors changing ever so slightly. Sparce visual "bugs" that occur. Really short glimpses of something following you. I'm talking about really small things that make you go "Did the color just change or am I going nuts?" I think just the last point alone would really improve the athmosphere in the game, without being too much in your face or cliché.

The gameplay makes me think its dev could make a really good fleshed-out 3D mascot platformer. The secret gem hunt reminds me of some of the Stop 'n Swop Eggs from Banjo and aside from the creepy overtones and simple mechanics it looks like a pretty good demo for a bigger game.

My only complaint is I wanna push Gerald into the pit. He said it himself: been around for multiple rituals, they happen every 50 years, we must keep the ancients from rising. Sounds to me like he's been around long enough, his turn has come.
