I don't think that she means to be. She's trying to get to the heart of what this book is about and the reality of life for an African woman in Britain. But, she doesn't have the advantage of years of multicultural experience and knowledge that we have today. However, I couldn't watch to the end - I found her language and phrases cringe-worthy!

I don't think she is, I think she is asking questions on behalf of the ignorant viewer, not herself. Interviewers do this all the time and sometimes I think people don't know that.
