I carried this knife for many years on construction sites as a carpenter. I still have it today. Can't go wrong buying.

Me too. That was a loaner, but they are very overpriced on the secondary market

The 501 is the largest size knife of that style that you can still carry comfortably in your pocket. The sheath is nice, but I'd pocket carry mine. The smaller models in this style(O55, 503, 505) are too small IMHO. The 110 and 112 are monster workhorses meant to be carried in a belt sheath. I would like the 501 and 500 Duke much better if they had a clip blades like the 110 instead of spearpoints. All these knives are solid American made quality at a mere bargain.

I don't leave without the 503 in my pocket. Considering giving away the 501 for a few Christmas gifts this year, not too big not too small. Thanks for the video on a great little knife.

I ended up picking up a 2021 model. I like the size, a little larger than the 503 I carry. I put up a video on it as well as one comparing the 110, 501 & 503. Such a nice knife. I'm reading different things about the make up of the handle. Some say it's made of the resin infused rosewood (dymalux) and some say that the newer models are solid rosewood. Do you know what the handle is made of? Btw... I've been to SA & have close friends there, I love the country.
