Buck 501 Squire brief overview 

My favorite pocket knife; small enough to carry in the pocket, sharp, durable (bought mine in 1973) and it’s a really good looking classic knife.

The steel difference doesn't come from hunters. It comes from these guys who need a $200 or more chunk of steel to break down Amazon boxes. Hahahaha. I laugh but I %100 believe that

i like the 501, but it would be nice if buck would move away from brass and nickel. use something like stainless steel or titanium. even a high grade aluminum would be good. just my opinion. I just don't like the smell that brass or nickel leaves on hands. like you've been holding change for too long.

Got the buck 112 finger grooves 3inch on the way … now I want this 501 looks like it will fit 5th pocket perfectly!

I can't speak for all 300 series knives, but my 301 is American made.

Excellent review! If I have pants on there's a Buck 110 on my belt.
