That wasn’t a deer, if you watch the whole video you will see that it was in the water, unless they are blind, and the deer came back to life and ran into the water, thats no deer.

no, that was a fallen stump with an ant hill on top. I filmed the hunt, we found the deer in the water the following day I can assure you.

With him laying dead all night, I'd say the meat was bad. I live and hunt in the south, and there's no way I would eat it, The mosquitos being so thick tells me it was way too hot out for the meat to be any good.

With the running water, he wasn't too hot surprisingly.

I kind of wondered too but it would probably be fine everywhere but directly around the wound where scuzzy water could soak in. Animals in the water can get water logged and nasty but being left overnight does not always hurt your meat and being in the water it actually would have kept the flies off and maybe kept it a little cooler. I hope it was still edible. There's a lot of good meat on a buck that size. Your nose will usually tell you if anything's wrong though. If it starts spoiling its gonna start stinkin too

Unless it was around 40 degrees or colder, I wouldn’t eat a deer that sat all overnight, especially in some stagnant looking creek.
