most mainstream artists take as much as a year promoting and hyping up their latest album... Buckethead's comfortable leaving some of his most awe-inspiring songs untitled and relatively unknown. Just shows how little value he places on recognition. He plays for the sake of playing....something all musicians should take note of.
And thats where all the raw feeling and talent is. Its for him and his ears and the audience of course. Love this guy so much, Inspired so many musically, like a new aged Hendrix. I feel like only a select few are destined to know about this guy at a young enough age, and to pursue guitar like I did, and I am so grateful for all that he's done for me musically.
I Hear your point! But we all know a studio release wouldn't compare to this raw feeling that was in the room that night. This is how this song is meant to be heard, We hear it from time to time in our heads and it is the audio of this recording. Similar to the countess others, live recordings of this guy!
Its ok i have too. The tune is just a bad a$% Awesome tune. I mean bro literally gets off in this tune .Slow and mild then all of a sudden Straight Jammin. Not just shredding either but a tune unheard of from the fingers of anyone else strumming the strings ie guitar. This tune is a Brilliant Masterpiece
D string 11, G string 9 , G string bend 11, G string 9 hammer on to 11, G string 9 with vibrato. Repeat but the first note on D string switch to 9 and alternate. Use a Wah as well. That's as close as I can figure out. Sounds about right too me. prob a little off! Tell me if you can figure it out better.
+~Delevity~ I tabbed this song out, it includes that awesome lick which should sound just right if you drop your tuning down a half-step. I love that part too, so coooool. (I've seen your vids, I know you are a kick-ass player yourself!) Here's the link to the tab... tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/b/buckethead/new_untitled_song_ver2_tab.htm
I love bucket head but not all of his work. I love rock ‘n’ roll but at the end of the day I’m a bluesman. I would LOVE for Buckethead to do a pure blues album.
I'm SO stoked to have recently bought an unplayed Gibson Buckethead signature Les Paul through eBay. Cost me an arm and two legs but small price to pay to own a piece of Buckethead history :) Been honing my skills on a bunch of Big-B tracks and this one has been my latest. Such a fun track to play... mellow at first then switches to the uplifting tone at 1:30. I really do feel sorry for those who listen to mainstram crap and who will never know of Brian Carrol... *sigh*
OMG - what an awesome soul inspiring song !! No guitarist today can match his range, his energy, his originality, his soul, his proficiency and his presence. He is truly fearless. My son said to me that he just does not understand some of his songs due to their eclectic nature. I told him when the first Picasso was viewed or the first Van Gogh, people said the same thing. BH is just pure genius.
Even though many of Buckets videos were posted years ago....finding them and playing them is like uncovering gold. This man is a musical genius. One of the few guitarists that plays with so much emotion you feel it in your soul when he plays.
I could watch Buckethead videos and listen to his music in my cell phone 24/7 and never get tired of it. He is a true guitar genius/virtuoso! God bless him and his music.
the only reason Buckethead isn't on radio is because he doesn't have a mainstream record label and is a solo guy. The radio doesn't play music that is good, it plays music that these labels pay them to play. They filter out music that is actually decent and spoon feed manure to the public.
Ever since I discovered this beautiful and out of this world guitar virtuoso/human being, I can't stop listening to his music and kept wishing for the opportunity to lock myself in my place for 1 year, not deal with the outside world and binge watch Buckethead's live performances on RU-vid and since March 20, 2019 my wish came true! :) :) :) :)
It’s artists like this who carry us through bad times (deployments, deaths, breakups) and just make good times all that much better. Alice and Chains and Smashing Pumpkins carried me through Bosnia 1 and 2 (IFOR And SFOR) and if there is a difference made by music, this is surely a prime example. Rock on brother, you make a difference.
I’ve come back to this video countless time over the years… and everytime it raises every hair on my body. It gives me that sensational, indescribable feeling of emotion. Melancholy, overcoming, joy. I can’t describe exactly what the emotion is because there’s no words but it hits somewhere very deep… the juxtaposition of sad and hopeful to create an overall experience of joy. It just makes me feel human.
Agreed 100 perecent. too bad the people in that audience were not also lost for words... they almost ruined his performance by chatting the entire time, ironically, one of the things he told his therapist in the taped interview is that he had to learn to lose himself into the music to get away from the annoying people talking by the stage.
The more i got to know about buckethead, more i wanted to know more! Just mesmerised. He was and is far far ahead of his time. Expert international Players like Ewan Dobson got inspired from “Big sure moon” and released his song “TIME 2”. What an honour!
That bend at 3:51-3:53 is the best bend I've heard in my entire life. Just makes that whole section tie together to me for some reason. It's the perfect bend in the context of that part, the way he bends up it and comes off of it so clean with that little wail into the distance. Shit is robotic.
The depth and soul of this song is astounding.,How can it become, yet again, an instant favorite. He just hits different in such an appealing way. Props to the drummer too. He really melts right into this song alongside bucket head. Fucking bucket head, where did you come from man?
bucketead holds the crown for the greatest to ever bless this earth with music and he will never be beat. when buckethead dies later down the road cus its natural it will happen but thats the day music stops...long live bucket...hes just totally inspiration to my ears.
Been stuck on this one for years. This untitled song is like finding a hidden secret area in a video game. Used to want him to name it and throw it on a cd now I’m kinda glad he didn’t.
He missed some chords there i actually thought it was kool added this human element...im grateful for the music and all the hard work he put in to get this good...i imagine his personality to be a bit introverted and that was a factor in sort enveloping himself in mastery of the guitar...i could be totally wrong just a guess...and of course pebber brown is a bit of a hard ass in a good way when it comes to practicing...
@ryanashby211 buckethead has given music an everlasting impact that will not fade when he dies. he wears a mask, not just to hide his identity, but so people will see him as a musical entity. Entities don't die. There's always going to be someone who wears that mask. Brian Carrol is just the first one to do so.
So, people attend Buckethead live stage to... have a chat? I mean, he playes for 1.5-2 hours and not everyday you get to see him and people decide to.. have a word with each other? And they do it so loud you can hear them in the background. lol.
I was there for this show and I know the man who records the video and audio for this venue he was a former YT user KCmojoe and he sent me a DVD of this show but he had said that Buckethead's rep wouldn't let him tap into the board audio to record this show so instead he had to place the mics back by him at the sound mixing equipment station and unfortunately it was located close to a beer vending stand and thus all the chat that you hear are concert goers who are less interested in the music as much as the beer. I on the other hand was about 12 feet from the stage though not in the reserved VIP section unfortunately but, when Buckethead started playing this unknown song the "REAL fans" quieted down and listened closely to try figure out which song this could be and man weren't we rewarded with a rare unknown gem from BH himself.
No! I've heard this song 50 times or so in 3 days. Buckethead is a fucking genius. I don't know of a better way to put it. Mere words cannot communicate how beautiful, and truly captivating this song is. I'm very new to Buckethead, just discovered him like 6 days ago, but I feel pretty confident in saying that he is amazing; Composition, performance, technical skills, tone, emotions/feel etc. is pretty much unrivaled (at least to my limited knowledge). One thing I do know for sure; I love Buckethead! This needs to get released, preferably in a live version, but a studio version would be really nice too.
