I've seen him 22 times - solo and with other acts, such as Primus. His hands fascinate me. He's 6 ft 8, moonwalks, robot dances, does nunchucks, and gives out toys to people in the front row. He's recorded over 400 albums, 79 of them collaborations. He's probably the most prolific and talented guitar player alive. He also did the soundtrack of the game Mortal Kombat and has had two songs that were the bonus tracks on the Guitar Player cds. He's awesome. Thanks for doing this reaction.
Saw him a few times in Boston! So glad you sort of understand his talent! He played for Guns and Roses the two years Slash solved. When Buckethead left the band Slash said it took him a long time to figure out Buckets music!
I'm so glad you guys are checking out Buckethead! Incredibly talented and versatile. He's my favorite guitarist and, in my opinion, the best of all time! He's the reason I started playing guitar!
Saw him a couple years ago and it was truly amazing! Got to tap the kill switch on his guitar when he does a crowd friendly section in his show. Super talented. Plays many styles and makes an insane amount of music. He’s actually been a therapeutic part of my life. Can’t say that about many artists to that extent. Glad you got to check him out! ✌🏼
He's #1 . End of story. Even though he may not look it. Please listen to him and you will understand. Great album is "Colma". That's a good start. The whole album is a peaceful moment. No lyrics just music. Thank you guys for everything
Check out his song Jordan too. Or anything he did with Les Claypool, the bassist from Primus. Or Praxis, his band with Bernie Worrell, the keyboardist from Parliament Funkadelic. Buckethead shows are crazy. It's just him and a guitar. And he dips into weird stuff like songs from Star Wars or random movies in the middle of songs.
I first heard Buckethead as a solo artist. I saw Buckethead live with Les Claypool (bassist for Primus) and Bernie Worrell (keyboards for Parliament Funkadelic and Talking Heads). They all took a backseat when Buckethead was playing. First time I saw Les Claypool play second to anyone else. 🙂 Buckethead is incredible.
Favorite song title from Buckethead: Gory Head Stump. The song itself is really good too. His song "Jordan" is also often reacted to if you ever have time for another Buckethead song. As others have said, he's created well over 300 albums (ALBUMS) and it's just him and a backing track.
You might not believe it but the studio version is even better. I used to mow my yard and it was a big yard, to Buckethead and I would just get lost in the magic and be done before I knew it. The guy is unbelievable
Buckethead is a great guitar player. Some of the greats are gone - SRV, Eddie Van Halen, Jeff Beck, Randy Rhoads, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Dimebag Darrell, Terry Kath, Gary Moore to name a few. Some of the guitar greats still alive - Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Tony, McAlpine, Eric Johnson, Frank Marino, Alex Skolnick, John Petrucci, Eric Clapton, Billy Gibbons. A Guitar Instrumental only stream would be a great one to do.
Great comment. I agree you must have forgotten Jimmy Page by mistake. Buckethead is a blessing and a gift to guitar fans who loved and miss the great players. Buckethead is a miracle easily worthy of being in the list of greats. His playing is the next level, beyond EVH and he is out there on his own.
Bucket has played with GUNS N ROSES in the early 2000s and had played with Primus as a guest many of times ..He has had a live band that had toured with him years back..Thanks for this awesome reaction video great job guys!!
Buckethead is Buckethead. 🙂 but he's also c2b3 and Praxis. You'll know the people in those bands. Best ever- Mishawaka 2006 and Fillmore Denver 2004 (c2b3). Great job!!
Buckethead will take you down a rabbit hole if you choose to let him. He has over 300 albums of originally written and composed music. Hes a modern day Mozart with a catalog that rivals composers of old. His music will trigger any emotion you want to feel. None of it has words. Its a brilliant way to not muddy the art with words that are personal to him and it allows you to make the journey of the song personal to you and your feelings/experiences. A few fun facts about Buckethead. He is 6' 6" and has to have his guitar custom made to be about 20% bigger to be the right proportion to his size. He wears a bucket and mask as a way to combat his stage fright. His name is believed to be Brian Patrick Carroll but no one knows for sure. He is a huge NBA fan with songs like "Jordan", "Redeem Team", and "Lebron" as a few of his tributes.
Incredibly versatile guitarist and composer. He does everything from metal to easy listening and anything in between. For something entirely different, check out Mount Shasta. Absolutely beautiful track.
Buckethead has performed with numerous other musicians and bands since the very early 90's, including Praxis, Primus and perhaps most notably Guns N Roses. Collectively, between all of that, he has released in excess of 400 albums and EP's. That's not an extra 0 or typo lol
I love Buckethead, seen him live 15 times. But I gotta say, I love you two as well. BJ... we are both bearded cavemen that somehow got beautiful women. I'm still confused about mine. But, I totally understand yours's. Keep up the great work. I love you both.
I haven’t listened to a lit of Buckethead, but I like everything I’ve heard. He’s an amazing talent. Another one to check out with similar shredding speed is Paul Gilbert. Check out his songs Scarified or Technical Difficulties.
They used to call kfc the bucket in the 60s 😆this guy spent a ton of days in his own room searching why i think he is great and only discovered him 2 weeks ago thanks for covering him !and he has new material recently !
A new drop from a guitar player by the name of Paul Gilbert it's a tribute to Ronnie James Dio he plays Ronnie's lyric parts on guitar first single is Holy Diver and it is insane you guys gotta check it out. Keep it going luv you guy's.
Hey guys thanks so much for reacting to Buckethead! Hes from another planet, everyone will tell you to also react to Jordan but if you do check out more of him please react to Bucketheadland live, theres so many buckethead reactions but people only ever listen to soothsayer and jordan
