Soothsayer is a real emotional one for Buckethead, it's dedicated to his late Aunt Suzie who actually bought him and gave him his first guitar aged 12. When she passed, he wrote Soothsayer for her as a means to tribute her and thank her for setting him on his life's path.

Buckethead is a really strange dude, but he's a legit musical genius. He's got about 400 albums (yes, albums!) and his music spans everything from metal to easy listening and just about anything in between. But as great as his technical skills are, his compositional skills are perhaps even greater. He has so much great music it's ridiculous. He's the GOAT!

Cartier Family, never saw your channel but can’t tell you how happy this made me. Buckethead is a true genius of our time. All he does is make music and doesn’t speak (much) He has over 400 albums and worked with System of a Down, Primus, Steve Vai, Bootsy Collins, chilled with Snoop Dogg, done music for Dragon Ball Z, Power Rangers, Ghosts of Mars, video games, etc. I am so glad you guys found him because he has thousands of songs. You guys just found enough music to last the rest of your life LOL! He covers all kinds of genres even hip hop, he LOVES Wu Tang Clan! He is my favorite guitarists of all time. I play guitar, he is like a super hero to me and my kids love him too. He can say more with a guitar than most can with words. Subscribed! Check out his other stuff it’s so damn epic. As a guitar player, its always reassuring when a non-player audience is so impressed with something before it even gets to the solo like when you guys were at 2 mins. Buckethead is a legend and carved his own lane in the game.

Some of the most beautiful playing is slow. It's art, not athletics. Nice to be able to let rip sometimes though, but to be able to do it so effortlessly, and with passion, takes more work than most people are prepared to put in. I've done my 10,000 hours [and I'm pretty agile] but I'm not even close. Then again who is? Enjoy him while you can. He has heart problems as a result of the intense anxiety he suffers. He's had 2 heart operations already. 😪

I've seen him more than 20 times. He robot dances, moonwalks, and gives out toys to people in the front row. He's 6 ft 8 and never talks while in the Buckethead persona. You mentioned Slash - Buckethead was with Guns 'n Roses for four years and completed 9 of the 12 tracks on the Chinese Democracy album. He is from California and has recorded over 400 solo albums, as well as projects with approximately 80 other artists/groups.

Buckethead is a legit artist, he has a real name obviously but Buckethead is the character he created over 30 years ago and has created a whole lore around the character. He's never been interested in fame or fortune and damn near invented the style that he's been rocking for decades and his catalogue of over 50 albums spans a wide variety of musical genres, which he makes basically all by himself. The dude is a prodigy and plays the guitar like he breathes air. Probably one of the greatest, most unique musicians to ever touch a guitar, even if the music isn't for everyone 👍 Check out "Nottingham Lace" "Jordan" or my personal favourite "Buckethead - the early years" which is one of the earliest videos of him in 1991 playing in the backyard to his friends and family! Much love, keep it up! edit: He played for Guns n Roses on one tour when Axl Rose was running the band iirc. Eddie Van Halen was also a big influence of Buckethead obviously, being one of the og 80s tap guitarists

I'm legit convinced that his guitar is just a second half of him. Listening to his Pike albums and normal albums all together, it seems like he just spends his time in some cave just playing constantly, his work ethic is legitimately insane. He once turned down an offer to work with Ozzy Osbourne because Ozzy wanted him to take the bucket off.

I've got to hip you guys to another genius-level guitarist - Eric Gales. He's a left-handed player, but unlike 99% of left handers who either play a left-handed guitar or string a right-handed guitar upside down (like Hendrix did), Gales plays a right-handed guitar upside down. He's not totally unique in this, but Buckethead is known famously for using a cut-off switch in his guitar, which is how he does those wild "staccato" riffs where it sounds like it's stuttering. He's literally chopping the signal off coming from the guitar with a button that he taps, but he's tapping out the "negative space". In the song "Jordan", he uses that cut-off for the entire rhythym chorus of the song.
@thatsamazin-

Check out his happy birthday MJ song. He does a whole comic book series of cds called pikes. View masters and eerie canal are great just off the top. This guy was making a cd a day. For two years… he’s the best imo because of that.

The guy goes to the store to buy toys to pass out to people at the show. Check out Gory Head Stomp, then All in the Waiting. Dude can write anything and it's good.
