My second kayak fishing tournament of the year was held at Delaware Lake in Central Ohio. Determined, I set out to catch a limit on a new body of water! The Buckeye Kayak Fishing Trail runs around the state and holds some amazing events! I hope you enjoy the kayak fishing tournament videos I upload. I caught a handful of crappie! They were chasing bait schools and hammering em. You have an awesome lake in your backyard for sure

Heck of a job I'd say for the first time fishing that lake! I live 15 minutes from there and have never fished it! I wish I could've come to root for ya.

The thing about Delaware is that the small fish are a sneaky 12 inches. Great way figuring out what they were hitting on, also I was about to say something about you fishing around the ramp during a tournament, but you caught a dink.

Yea a bunch of those fish didn’t look like keepers but they were!! Is the boat ramp a good spot to fish?

Delaware is tough this year. Supposedly there was some kinda spill upriver in Marion, I think that’s what’s causing the lack of bite at Delaware.

@@thecreekcrawler it's my local lake. If you get out on a day when there's not a bunch of yahoos on pwcs or people towing skiiers and tubes it's really fun in a kayak. Just gotta keep your head on a swivel

One thing I have learned is opportunities will always be there when fishing. Sometimes things go right and sometimes they go wrong. No sense in dwelling in the negative or you will become overrun. The rivers have been great! But the Hocking river has yet to really feel my presence lately.

@@thecreekcrawler Both the Olentangy and Scioto have been up and muddy for the most part, but when opportunity meets with a safe water level, I’ve found good success. Looking forward to getting back out there soon. Stay safe out there, Bryan!

Another great video. Been watching you a couple years now. My dad lives around the corner from Delaware Lake and he's fished there all my life. So cool to see you fish a spot I feel like is my backyard. I've been fishing 40 years and still take something away from each of your videos. BTW Delaware Lake has excellent catfishing. Love the video and a little tourney action. I live vicariously through you brave Yak souls. Keep those and your other videos coming brother. Solid showing on a new lake. Just finished up the 5 day staycation in IL. Big river smallies with size on topwater, pond largemouth bass hitting everything we threw at 'em while fighting the wind, then a little smallmouth and rock bass creek crawling of my own. Congrats brother. 👏

The bait caster rod tip is typically lower than a spinning rod tip. A kayak sits very low in the water compared to a bass boat.I think this allowed some slack line when fighting the fish.
