This is such a great album. Frozen Love is a personal favorite track from this album. Fleetwood Mac's sound became very similar to this album when Lindsay and Stevie joined the band.

The album may have been "commercially unsuccessful" but it was huge in the South. Lindsey and Stevie toured there before joining Mac and were blown away by adoring crowds.

1/28/75 one of my Senior years at Alabama BN performed one of their final shows after Lindsey had already signed with Fleetwood on the condition that Stevie was part of the deal. Played in a 500-600 seat auditorium in the English Building. Still have my vinyl from 73. By the way if you want to know where the FMac sound came from listen to “Don’t Let Me Down Again”. Even more so than this track.

That album cover!! So young and beautiful. You can tell by Lindsay's guitar why Fleetwood Mac wanted them so bad.

Wow, great one! They had a lot of their conversations and arguments via the music, just as so many did in those days (Joni Mitchell broke up with David Crosby by singing him a song in a roomful of their mutual friends), and Long Distance Winner is no exception. “I bring the water down to you, but you’re too hot to touch.” What a line. Musically-speaking, I wish I knew who played on which tracks. I know that Jim Keltner and Waddy Wachtel are on the album, but I don't think either one of them is playing on this one.

The album is seriously good and, in my opinion, practically a blueprint for the Rumours album. My mom had this in her collection when I was a kid. I spun it on my turntable up until I went to college in the mid- 80s. Need to still score a copy. I no longer have the album.

Mick Fleetwood had this album played for him when he was looking for new studio space [Studio City where this was the first album recorded] - specifically the last song on it Frozen Love. He was impressed and when looking for a new guitarist a few weeks later offered Buckingham the position. Buckingham and Nicks didn't own the rights and masters for a couple of decades, then weren't on the same page. Then reportedly when they finally tried to re-release it in 2013 came up against crediting issues for the backing musicians because records weren't kept of who played on what songs. They put it on the back burner and now it may remain there. It's a very good album. Polydor just had no idea how to promote them. They were working on their second album when recruited by FM but weren't getting any studio takers for it. The songs already recorded or demoed for it - Landslide, Rhiannon, Monday Morning, I'm So Afraid, I Don't Want To Know, Sorcerer, That's Alright etc...

Distinctively Stevie and Lindsey. There are some good songs on this album, Frozen Love comes to mind. Mick Fleetwood and John McVie wanted Lindsey to join Fleetwood Mac after this, to replace Bob Welch. He only agreed if they brought in Stevie Nicks too. Wisely, they made a good choice.

Lindsey wanted to continue their duo career because he said he wanted to get married and have a family with her, but she was tired of being broke, waiting tables and scrimping. Lindsey threw out the ultimate that he doesn't go to Fleetwood Mack unless they take her too but he didn't think they would accept the terms. Or the way he says it, he was hoping they didn't accept the terms say the time. It worked out for their careers but not so much for their potential marriage.

Very good! I like that middle "chorus" part, get harmony, guitar plays along w the vocals & you get more percussion in there. Sweet.

There only album release. Before joining Fleetwood Mac, Unfortunately didn't really didn't get a lot of love but the album is great.... Has been out of print for many years but in recent years started to become saut after. I have it on vinyl one of my most prized possessions

One of the songs on this album "Crystal" was redone later as a Fleetwood Mac song. Also many of Lindsey's guitar riffs also got recycled into later Fleetwood Mac songs.
