I tried using chief bogo early on with the floodborns. If he was inkable, he would be a perfect card. The problem is, he hurts your tempo a lot of the time. You want to really empty the opponent's hand immediately, so that the opponent has to choose to either ink or play. The problem with this is, you need to play floodborn until about turn 5. Taking a turn to get bogo down is rough on your own pacing. He is an mvp vs agro, but is useless against control or saphire. I would at most run 2 copies.
Yeah I kinda forgot about that despite mentioning it in the intro sorry :( I am going to be doing a 'beat the meta' video soon though & will make sure to cover it there.
Chief Bogo seems alright its a spicy pick for sure, but isnt he too slow? first proc of his ability is at turn 5. Dont wanna lecture the master deckbuilder but wouldnt morph for quicker tinker provide better value? Seems a turn quicker and morph is also usefull for shifting robin and beast when needed ;D
I was talking with someone last night about how good Chief Bogo can be. One turn you can get rid of Bucky, Pegasus and merfolk and the next turn he gets rid of Diablo and Prince John. Also I love Donald in this deck. He lets you draw three cards at the start of your turn if you have Diablo and the opponent draws a card and then you can just rip it out of their hand. Once they catch onto this they usually won’t draw a card at all.
1. Diablo only draws you cards during the opponents turn. 2. Diablo only draws you cards when exerted. Neither of which are true when Donald lets an opponent draw a card. Donald's draw is in the "Set" part of "Ready, Set, Draw" at the start of your turn. I also like Donald for PJ decks to bait someone into taking the draw then slamming another floodborn for extra draws off the discard though.
Hi Speci, great job casting Lille! Will you do another run at the deck Ruby/Emerald? I really like your latest deck you tried on Pixelborn (in one of the last videos before Lille), I changed just a few cards, and it seems to be working properly, although I'm playing only in ranked, and not on hardcore ranked ladder yet. Thanks a lot for your content, it's soooo helpful and great to watch! Keep it up :)
I will definitely revisit Ruby / Emerald yeah! I am so busy with Lille Set 3 meta last weekend & UK Games Expo this weekend but will be doing a lot of testing this weekend!
A resist deck with some card draw and challenge ready characters etc can hold up well to this. Idk how that deck holds up to ruby saph tho. Maybe some ward mixed in
I have been playing Ladder and the one thing that has absolutely amazed me is the amount of people who think that Ruby Sapphire is still good. It has such a hard time against Bucky Discard that it's not even close to playable IMO. It needs a lot of re-tooling IMO. I queue into Emerald Steel probably 80% of the time.
Only two E-S decks in the top 8 actually played one single mirror match. Look at the game records, the rest of them ID’d all the mirrors to avoid them.
$750 to build this deck?! With Pixelborn being shut down, I’m thinking value meta deck builds will need to be part of the content strategy moving forward. Just my two cents
Bogo is way too slow imo. Swords can get sung as early as turn 3 and Tink at least gives immediate impact plus a Bucky Trigger. The strength of this deck is the ability to curve out and constantly threaten the opponents hand with Floodborn back to back on turns 3-5 after a turn 2 Bucky. Bogo slows this down and won’t impact the board fast enough most of the time and is a really easy target for Bruno to bounce and have 0 impact.
Yeah mb I definitely want to make sure I cover that kind of thing moving forwards. I will be posting a meta guide soon & will make sure to cover it there
At the low low price of 756 dollars... i know most content creators are dead focused on competitive and destroying the meta. But would be cool to see like now heres this deck but slightly budget
Sure this deck is wildy expensive & if you're looking for something cheaper the deck is going to be entirely different. The Ruby / Sapphire deck i posted yesterday is also more affordable & I will try to include more budget options moving forwards. I appreciate the feedback & will try to include that aspect in the videos moving forwards.
@SpeciLorcana I appreciate it! I mean I know it's important to nail down the most competitive version. I don't know what kind of casuals are out there like me who still like to be semi-competetive haha
Robin Hood is one of the least problematic cards here, it’s the cards *around* RH (Robin Hood) that make him seem good - lots of E/S (Emerald/Steel) lists have been cutting RH
