Lapata was a jazz musician who played all around Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley. He traveled to Nevada for eight years, playing and conducting bands for hotels in Reno and Las Vegas. Upon his return to Philly, he recorded a few rock and roll tunes before becoming a staple on the nightclub and jazz circuits.
He came from a family of music - both his father Billy, his brother Tony, and his younger brother Billy Jr. were well-known musicians as well around the City of Brotherly Love. If anyone has information on what year this album was made, we'd love to add it to our files.
