I had the Vikicon cordless model....buttons on the side went out after 6 months. I got the Aberlite compact now and it's an improvement. It's solid, sturdy, heats quick and does the job well. I do like the close together teeth on the Vikicon.

Thank Dan for another great video! I been looking into trying a heated brush but I normally just stick to my blow dryer. But I get those stragglers near the side burns so maybe this might help to tame them.

Viking has been contacting me asking me to review the beard brush but apparently they cant get it sent over to Australia, so it was good to see that youve done it, I still wouldnt mind doing one myself eventually. If I can get my hands on one.

I bought the Vikicon Axe 2.0 cordless version that you reviewed last year ($50 range) and works well. I checked Amazon again on it today to remind myself how much I paid and it has a coupon that brings it down to $45.59. Its only big con is that it is bulky.

Hey Dan, thanks for this review. I got gifted this 007 model by a family member for Christmas. I've used it a couple of times so far. Seems good although (and I don't have anything to compare it with as I've never used one before but it does seem cooler than I was anticipating. I know the 365 rule in terms of temp but I think I get good results quicker on the medium 380 temp. Is that bad? Should I stick with the 340?
@DanCBearded
@DanCBearded Год назад
If it’s regular use, I would encourage 340 for you

Great Review! I use the Jergen K beard brush. It is great. Question is how often should one use this and will it damage the hair with frequent use? I have very long, coarse and super super curly beard sometimes it hurts to comb it 😑, but with this brush it was amazing and so soft after one use. Forget the hair dryer this is the best way imo. I recommend to use a beard oil before.

Looks like it works well… like you say though you get what you pay for. It doesn’t look like it would survive a fall if it was dropped😧. Also curious what are your thoughts are on using those heat shield sprays? I’ve had one from Husky beard for a while now but I’ve never thought to use it. To me it seems like it’s just a spray on beard oil?

Hi Dan! I'm a self groomer. My beard is a bit curly, well there are some waves in it, maybe wavey is a better word for it 😅. I ordered this product. It's surprisingly good! Although it is not in my daily regular routine. What would you suggest, when I'm cutting and styling my beard, will it be better to do after the beard straightener or before? Basically I freestyle cutting it with a clipper, without guards (as Matty Conrad suggested it on his DIY videos), after washing and combing it, because that's how it sits on my face most of the times. Would be a better choice to cutting and styling it after straightening?
@DanCBearded
@DanCBearded Год назад
You want to style your beard like you normally wear it and then trim from that point. Just no solid products like balm or butter

Thanks Tim! I am going to have to purchase one of those to try and review. I checked out the reviews on a "review checker" and it looks mixed. Over 600 of the reviews failed for being "unnatural". Bots or sending products in exchange for a perfect review. Could be just a marketing strategy and still a good product though!

@@DanCBearded Great for people looking for a budget option. I'd say it is a stepping stone at least. Then if it dies, or you get more into it, you can always upgrade. I am one that typically likes to go to the highest end of something in terms of quality, but sometimes you need to see if something is actually right for you, before more heavily investing in it.

Alright, just because of RU-vid... Why no Dr. Squatch review? Literally, every time I watch an upload on RU-vid, I see an ad for them. I can't be the only one. They have a beard oil (which is incidentally the first [and thus far, only] beard oil I have ever bought. Being a new beardsman, I am truly curious how it stacks up to Beard Octane, or Grey beardsman [hope that's right...probably not though]. In all seriousness though, I consider it a light oil, that lasts 4-6 hours at most. None of the ingredients are on your "naughty list", and my beard seems to soak it up and my skin feels awesome (I did say this is my first oil, right?).

The problem with most of these heated beard brushes are that they’re the same ones you see in generic form that beard companies just pay to have their names slapped on em. I wouldn’t even call 25 bucks a “budget” beard straightener when you can just go on eBay and find this and most others for around 10-15 bucks. I’m sure about all of these things are made in the same handful of Chinese factories anyway lol.

The two companies that design and make their own would be kushelbar and aberlite

@@DanCBearded Just asking because the blow dryer and comb method doesn't seem to be working for me this time. I'm at about 3 inches in length but have grown one much longer in the past. I have a thick full beard but for whatever reason nothing seems to wrangle it in from curling and waving everywhere this time. I'm trying hard not to just shave it off cause I'm a perfectionist like you, lol, and can't stand for it to look like a mess. I use Viking Revolution wash and conditioner, then Honest Amish Classic beard oil once a day and the heated brush I have is Wild Willie's the beard straightener. Was hoping maybe you have some insight on if I might be using the wrong products. I want to grow this thing out again and hoping to convince myself not to give up and shave it off. Any advice would be appreciated.
