Coming along now, much better with the seat lowered and the springs removed. Using the black plastic spacers will also be less noticeable than the springs.

Looks great but I would put the speedometer to the other side of the handles closer to the rider

Looks good to me, most of the fun is sorting things out and making them do the job you want. Enjoy the build. 👍

With the problem of how to bolt the back mud-guard. Why don't you weld some type of bracket off where the indicators are being mounted, and maybe it will result in leaving enough room to mount a Licence plate. What I saw on the Donner bike was crash bars, I thought they might look rather nice on the bobber but I noticed it mounted to the radiator, so you could see that as a plus or a minus of giving you a reason to have a liquid cooled. I must say it is looking very good and only keeps improving, Great job gentleman!

I ended up using bar end indicators through the left over brackets from the original tail on my regal raptor. Fit through those holes perfectly and nice and easy to hide the cables.

Lovely, guys, back on track there! So much better there. Lines still not flowing, though. Move the lower shock mounts 1.5-2" back on the swinger, you'll get a balanced frame geometry out of that. Still too high at the front, lowering the forks 2" would sort it. Kill those fugly bar risers.... And just leave it at that. Forget the air box. And I'll let you off on the headlight and running boards.
@motorsforthemasses
@motorsforthemasses 5 лет назад
Lol. Those rear springs still a consideration....not a fan of the risers either. I don't think the front is too high though....we will see on that one
@thefreedomguyuk
@thefreedomguyuk 5 лет назад
@@motorsforthemasses Yeah, you are probably right, it may be the risers throwing it a bit off. How about removing the risers, and mock up the bars, fix them with zip ties, to check how it looks ? Btw..I'm fitting a set of ultrashort shocks to my own build right now... let's see if I can get it to look as I'm hoping. Sadly, it's not exactly OCC here in my shed...

personally. id go with the springs. itll be more comfy for anyone riding last thing anyone wants is to hit a pot hole and feel like the seat is ripping you a new one
@motorsforthemasses
@motorsforthemasses 5 лет назад
I know what you mean...but it just didn't look right. The bike still has springs. I thing it will be comfortable enough.

The bobber looks great with a clean looking back end so far any thoughts on the number plate
@RYDER-ux6sp
@RYDER-ux6sp 5 лет назад
Rear end and seat looking soooo much better now, my only suggestion would be to throw some Gators on the front forks
@thefreedomguyuk
@thefreedomguyuk 5 лет назад
On a bobber, gaitors are only acceptable in a MOT situation, to cover up rusty stanchions and leaking fork seals. If the gaitors are mechanically secured, the MOT guy isn't allowed to remove them...(-;
@JayC133
@JayC133 5 лет назад
I think flat steel to support the rear guard instead of a hoop. And in terms of colour... Why not go for a full rat look job? Gators on the forks, white wall rear wheel, micro indicators, wrapped exhaust with it exiting parallel to the angle of the frame at the rear.

Great show paint the back shocks mat black chrome looks out of place. Plus I would suggest a led ring light to light the front the staging area up.
@motorsforthemasses
@motorsforthemasses 5 лет назад
Rear shocks will most likely be black! Good idea re: led

Without the springs that seat is going to give the rider a major case of piles?
@motorsforthemasses
@motorsforthemasses 5 лет назад
Have you tried a hard-tail bobber?
@CalOnGuitar
@CalOnGuitar 5 лет назад
@@motorsforthemasses I used to ride hardtail with an unsprung solo seat. No issues. I love it when people get all warrior over hardtails ahahah
@motorsforthemasses
@motorsforthemasses 5 лет назад
@@CalOnGuitar absolutely! Unless you are riding on bumpy dirt-tracks I don't see an issue. Those springs on the seats give very little bounce anyway and many bikes with conventional springs have thin seats anyway....superbikes with fence-post seats and hard monoshock....they are worse.

Budget bobber build?....how's that work then?.. not really budget is It when you are using a second perfect bike to take bits off! You should re name to 2 complete knobs that don't know what they are doing stuff up two bike's.
@motorsforthemasses
@motorsforthemasses 5 лет назад
How do you know that second bike is perfect? Fyi that one has a dead engine and carb! If we are knobs...who cares. You watched it. Look forward to seeing your superb build....your comment is quite telling of your persona. Good luck with that.
@yorsnave
@yorsnave 5 лет назад
Dead carb 😂😂😂 yep you are a true expert as for my personal..happy with it.. And I don't need to put my builds on RU-vid customers buy quality builds by real builder's 😉
@motorsforthemasses
@motorsforthemasses 5 лет назад
@@yorsnave Never claimed to be an expert at all.....you seem to be picking 1 word in a sentence and making up the rest...resulting in a different context. Anyway...of course carbs can be rebuilt but it they do not work properly, they can be referred to as 'dead' as in 'not working at this time'. Shame I had to explain that to you. Once again...you have missed the whole concept of this build...as in, we are giving it away. We are not selling it, nor building it specifically for an individual customer, who has paid money. Congratulations on being a 'real builder' whatever your definition of one of those is. This odd communication has been amusing...so thank you for that, you are funnier than you realise, albeit unintentional. I wish you all the luck in the world...and bow to your superiority.

Yoursnave No, that's called Frankenbiking ! This IS a budget build, and a nice one too. Come over to my place, I'll show you an "Over Budget Bobber Build". He stands in a corner, looking sad and half done, as the build expenses right now have reached the point where the value of the completed build will be. Bobbers are often expensive, when trying to get them perfect. The boys are doing well here!
