I have this drum set and I can give my two cents about it: The good part: Pads are really nice, they feel great and they react to the hit in a fairly realistic way, no complaints there. Same for the cymbals, choke works great too. Sounds included are nice and the module allows for a good deal of customization. Now, for the not so good side of the deal... That same module is not compatible with windows 8/10 (heard it isn't on OS x either but cannot confirm), so forget about using it with your DAW or as a MIDI device. Drum rack is of subpar quality and somewhat small (I'm 6'1 and I found it doesn't get quite as high as I need it to be), fine for a young drummer who's starting, but it won't hold if you're used to playing real drums. Bass drum pad is, sadly, not mesh and not as nice or accurate as the rest of the pads in the set. So, all in all, a decent drum set for students or people who *really* want mesh pads on a tight budget (and don't mind upgrading later), but if you already have some experience with drums or plan on using it for your home studio, I'd suggest you go for something else. It may be budget enough, but factor in replacements for the parts of the rack that *will* fail and a decent, MIDI compatible module aaaaand... Not so budget anymore, isn't it?
Well, I'm guessing any module that has MIDI in and out, or with a usb connection that actually works should do the trick! If you wanna use it with a DAW and don't really care for built-in sounds, maybe go with a trigger interface like ddrum's.
My grandparents bought this for me last year, for my birthday gift and I had a lot of fun playing this drum, it doesn't matter even I'm still a beginner and I'm still don't know how exactly to use it. but until now I'm really satisfy of the product, thanks Thomann...
Hey, i have a problem with my snare. The Sound of the snare and the rim of it are swapped for some reason sometimes. And i don´t know how to fix it. If i hit the middle of the snare, i get the rim Sound, and i i hit the rim, i get the Sound how the snare should Sound.. any ideas how to fix that? Thanks a lot!
I have this kit, it's got me fairly far for a few hundred euros but the durability is very bad. The cymbals are all starting to come apart after a few months of playing, and if you prefer an angled tom set-up, it's impossible to get the tom rack high enough, so you will keep hitting the rim
can you please tell me how many sound layers per drum is has from 0-127 on the "vertical" velocities ? foe example how many layers of wave sounds has the snare / hi-hat / toms ..
Bitte! I just shot a short intro video on it today... Eric in the Drums Dept kicked some ass on it and you should be seeing that video pretty soon! //Andy
It reacts very well with soft hits. If I had to chose, I'd say that they are too sensitive rather than not enough. The dynamics are OK. Maybe some ppl would say that they are not wide enough but it's the best for 500€ imo.
Question : is this kit amplified thru an amplification system or is it connected to a computer which is recording via a DAW application ? Many thanks beforehand for your explanations. Kind rgds, Marc
Hi drummer. I have a big request to you. I want to upload my videos to RU-vid, where l am present an electronic set. Please, how to connect the kit to a computer? What minimum parameters must the pc contain and what program is suitable for recording my videos?Thx
Hi - I have the MPS-750X model of this kit ...When you save your own drums on the module as "user song 1" for example , is there a way to export this recording? Or save to USB and load straight to garage band?? If so, how do you do it
hey im really sorry i dont have the answer to your question but im thinking of getting the MPS-750X, im just unsure of how much better it is that the MPS-450, do you have any advice on which to get? :) many thanks !
After 1 year of using this kit the hi hat works whenever it likes and the main unit stopped saving presets and it has been stacked in a weird setting that all the kits has reverb and bad EQ . I hard reset everything several times but nothing works. . I got what I paid I guess.
HI! You are not stupid kkk, and yes and no. Because this kind of drums are used because of the lack of noise, usually people who play them plug Headphones on the little Mix , so they are the only one who can ear it, but , I think if you wanna "share" your true TALENT to the whole world, especially to your neighbors :P , I think you can use an amp.
Yeah, you can basically switch tom 2 and ride. The only stuff you can put wherever you want are the 2 crashes (but you can still set their height and their angle).
Not sure between MPS-750 and MPS-450. Difference is only 50€. The MPS-450 got all Mesh including Kick. But MPS-750 seems to have the better Module with individual Volume-Settings. Which to buy?
@@icefx8289 thx! But at the end, after reading and viewing a lot, I don't buy neither the 450 nor the 750. I ordered the Alesis Command Mesh with an extra Millenium Stereo Crash/Ride. I know, the Alesis only got Mono-Crash/Ride w/choke, but I think over all a better build quality and nicer Sound-Module. I don't want to go and buy again in two years. Okay, Price tag is now 770€ over all, but I hope the investment is worth it.
No idea but on the Thomann website you can filter that only kits will be displayed with 2 zone snare, that are helpful, when you play Bossa Nova or Slow Rock
