Growing up I have vivid memories of getting home from school and finding my mom had painted and rearranged the furniture. I loved the refresh and so I also did that often to my room in my teenage years. I need to get in the habit now as an adult too. Thank you for your channel and your enthusiasm is a bright spot in my day. ☀️
My mother moved furniture around every few months maybe 2-3 times a year and it always gave me a good feeling because all the old stuff we had forever always felt new when she rearranged it. As a kid I loved when she did that it was new and exciting to me.
I love your style and your vibe, I think it would be great if you made a video on how to "style" your home to be toddler friendly but still look cute. I feel like we inadvertently went the minimalist route just so our 15-month-old doesn't destroy or choke on anything and so now I feel like our house looks like Kanye and Kim's and I would really like to add the cozy without worrying that my toddler would get injured.
I love the fact that you have just validated what I have been doing for years - I am forever repurposing my things, especially painting them so that they co-ordinate together 😊
I’m with you I’ll paint anything 😉 we bought a nice wood dresser in 2001 and I took the time to sand it down and give it a different color stain and I fell in love again 🥰 in that year was trendy the light color wood but for me I love the dark colors and it is a totally new piece in my master.
I did the same to my gallery wall but with vintage frames. I had ones that were too modern for me (thought they looked good just not for me) and now it looks completely different and love it.
Your never gonna believe this...I went to a church yard sale this past weekend and I found a picture of an old city building and I thought it looked similar to your building pics in your office and I picked it up and the frame deterred me from buying it but then.....I found some ceiling medallions for $1 each.Wow! Can you possibly do a video how would you shop or what you look for at yard/garage sales? 😀
I have recently discovered your videos and am thrilled with the inspirations you have given me. I am 70 years old and have always considered myself and our home very fashionable. However, since turning 70, I started worrying that our home was going to look like an old person’s home. Yikes! But when I saw your video on what stylish people have in their homes; I had all of them! It made me feel OK. You have inspired me to look at what we have. Repurpose where it makes sense and add what’s needed to feel happy and comfortable. The compliments on our home we have received lately, convince me that you are my inspiration. I look forward to your guidance as we grow together.
I found your channel a couple of months ago. For the first time in my life I have an empty nest and I am redoing my house to my tastes. Your suggestions have been so helpful as I make decisions about what changes to make. I am 69 and I very excited to be creating a "new" space in my home of 35 years. Thank you for all the helpful suggestions and your enthusiasm.
Love your energy and tips! I'm all for painting things, anything and everything and giving things a brand new lease on life. My daughter and husband say that I will paint anything that doesn't move and joke that if they stand still long enough, I'll paint them too! 😁
This video really inspired me! I love salvaging, refinishing and recycling home decor, but you just gave me a fresh set of ideas that completely changed my kitchen nook, living room, hallway and guest bath using very few new items and a lot of moving around of decor I already had. I really enjoy your channel as I'm trying to take my interior design skills to a new level; I appreciate how you achieve a high end look while not feeling sterile and cookie cutter. I'm trying to evolve my post-college maxi boho style into something a bit more worldly and mature and minimalist and your channel has been a huge source of inspiration.
Hey Valentina, I love this! Very useful tips that can help save some $$. I have done a few before such as changing photo frame, repurposed items etc. The amazing thing about this video is how you outdo yourself everytime! Love me some more you!!❤ Blessings!
I am almost finished painting my wall Black thanks to you guys. I love your channel and when Jack and you are together it is such a trip, and how you guys “laugh “ really laugh together. You have such a great relationship and I don’t think it’s put on. Loved hearing about your adventures overseas and having kids and not letting them hold you back from a dream you have and what a great education for your great kids.
*Great Tips* I love a cheap and easy refresh. Re-grouping, re-styling and painting are my go-to's. This channel provides a great kick start to getting *FRESH* with your home decor and styling!
I am a "Ride or Die" fan. We are interior "Sista's for Life". I do so appreciate the pep talks and photo collages, but I need more shopping trips. It would be great for you to go into a store and create an entire vignette on the spot. I need help in identifying classic styles when shopping, and how to recreate that style in real time. I struggle with choosing updated traditional dining tables, and finding neutral Persian carpets under $500. Keep doing what you do, and perhaps add more shopping trips for smaller budgets that don't involve IKEA. Thanks in advance!
You guys are my mentors. My home-design anxiety has been replaced with thrilling inspiration. My home is transforming and it’s fun! On a different note, I’m watching the San Diego Padres (my team) - Atlanta Braves right now, it’s quite the game!
Wow, you are so inspiring!!! How I wish I could have you for a day in my home for some expert advice… but I’m in CA… oh well. It’s like I don’t want to just hire anyone, you know… someone who really gets the client! But everything is out of the house, new wood floors going throughout, and you are so right about seeing the space empty….
I'm so glad I don't have to worry about this. I never followed trends to begin with. I get wanting to change things up, but to me that means get more art, or maybe rearrange. But it's interesting to watch anyway.
Excellent video and great points. You're one of the few that I can watch daily without getting bored. And I know how hard is to come up with daily content. The husband is a great editor.
Hello Valentina, I've been thinking about rearranging my home, since Thanksgiving! I have used the " thought process" that you speak of to recreate a new look with the furniture I have ( all from Robb & Stucky) . It's good well made items; just need a new look with the furniture. Thank you for your inspiration. I am a subscriber and love your energy ! Especially, your ideas. Thank you so very much for your help with all of us who need a " Mentor" You're fabulous! ❤
I’m half through this video and I’m realizing this is the advice (or permission) I needed right now. I really got sick of of the current placement of things and I’m realizing that I can make changes. Its ok.
I watched this video on the train ride home yesterday and got really inspired. By the time I got home I was on a mission to clear the clutter from surfaces and to rearrange the furniture to let in more light. I’m about halfway done and already have a huge giveaway pile. Some stuff I just packed away so I don’t have to look at it out in the open. It makes such a huge difference!!!
I purchased.a beautiful oak vanity on Facebook Marketplace and wanted to paint it but got comments to have it restrained. Now it is sitting in my garage and not knowing what direction to take. Your video inspired me to just paint it like my original plan. Thank you!
I am glad I am not the only one...lol...my sister and I used to do this as kids to redecorate our bedroom several times a year! I love the mix and match of high end and modest priced items so smart, useful, user friendly content! My Carrie Bradshaw of decor! 😊 Love it!
Your easily one of my favorite youtubers!! You always have the best tips!!! And I love how passionate you are because i really share the same passion! Thank you❤️
Such great ideas for those of us (like me) who are moving toward more minimal looks and want to declutter and donate or use in a different space. Would love to know more details of how you compile mood boards too! Loving your channel.
Great tips 👍😁. My husband was given a painting that his grandfather had painted probably 60 years ago and the frame just didn't do it justice, we reframed it and it is a totally different art work. Such a pity that custom framing is so expensive 😬😬😬💶💶💶💶
Hey Valentina 🤗 I'm loving this video so inspiring so informative I love your energy great ideas I love you refreshing reinventing ideas you're right especially if you paid good money for things
I had several prints sitting in a closet and did the framing and rearranging last week. This freshens up my view when I'm in a rut. Also refresh my silk flower (wildflower) arrangements.
I love your idea of storing photos in beautiful boxes! It’s definitely an improvement from the boring type photo boxes! Thanks for the great tips! Love your videos especially your family vlogs! Have a great day!
You need to use an appliance epoxy, but you can. Make sure you properly prep the surface by sanding, cleaning, taking it apart as much as possible, and taping things off.
I have these beautiful photographs of bridges in New York’s Central Park in antique frames. I am going to have them reframed in modern frames. Thanks for the tips.💕
Exactly 💯 love those ideas 💡 I painted my old furniture and it was remarkable! Too funny 😊 I collected sand, shells & yes...rocks lol I put rocks in planters with a cool cactus 🌵 😎.
Just discovered your channel and love your tips!! I'm in the midst of re-working my live/work loft (high ceiling and shows pipes, which I hate but are necessary!). I would love to see you tackle how to do live/work spaces and how to integrate IKEA pieces with modern and vintage.
Amen sister on the painting I painted my brass bed from when I was 16 a mat cream and my daughter actually liked it when it was painted. My mom flipped out, so thank you for the validation.
Will you please do lots of videos of you showing us various ways to create various vinguets, using various objects? Also, please show us various furniture layouts of each room, please. TY much!😃
"I dont feel the need to obey them" hahaha Sometimes we get stuck in object ruts, so its nice to be reminded that we CAN reframe, CAN alter. Thanks for that.
Fantastic tips! I'm currently trying to figure out how to use oil paintings that were passed down to me. They don't really fit my style, however, I'm wondering if by reframing them with a modern frame, like you mentioned, would help them fit. Have you run across this before? They are currently in my storage area and it would be nice to be able to display them and have them fit in the decor as well.
These sound like wonderful tips.👍 I have some vintage silk fabric that could look amazing in a modern frame. On a side note, something about the dark corner of the room in this video, is unsettling /claustrophobic (to me🤣).
I always picture you having like a gallon of coffee before filming 😅😅😅, and the fact that you didn't have any before this one, is like... HOW?! 🤯 I need some of that energy 🤣🤣🤣
