Do you looking for some budget friendly motorcycle soft panniers that don't suck? Then definitely take a look at these Tusk Pilot Panniers. Just wanted to do a real world review on these soft fun bags and how they have held up and functioned on adventure motorcycle rides and motocamping trips. I can tell you I haven't had a single issue with them and would highly recommend them. We love budget friendly products that actually work and hold up to the abuse we put them through. Of course they have been bash tested here at The Bearded Grump on my Suzuki V-strom 650 on all types of different terrain and water crossings so they should hold up to normal people use just fine. I forgot to mention but these are 35 liters for each bag. We try to show budget friendly products that the average person can afford. Adventure riding and motocamping doesn't have to be super expensive. You can get out there and have a great time without draining your bank account. Great review Greg. As someone who had the quick mount plates, I would not recomend using the bags without the straps that go over the seat when using the plates. When packed, the weight of the bags pulling in the straps used to connect the bags to the plate was causing some wear. The straps over the seat resolved that. - Frank

Hey Gregg...Good to know....I just put a new rack on my XR...and will soon need to get new bags....So many channels push very expensive gear that know doubt may be good....but I don't wanta spend a fortune for camp and or bike gear.... I caught your live stream last night as well.....all good....I'm planning on doing some BDR's in the future as well....Keep on Keep on...

I think most channels push that stuff because they have deals with that certain company. We try our best to show that adv riding and motocamping can be affordable and regular every day working people can get out there and enjoy the hobby. These are great and work perfectly. Great review of "The Fun Bags"! Tusk makes some great stuff at a great price. I have their rack system on my DR650 and they have held up great. I like the Mosko Moto stuff, but I don't want to get a second mortgage on my house to afford to buy them LOL! The bottle holders are a great addition also for the dispersed camping you guys do. Cheers!

I think for the price point the Tusk line is fantastic. I have another brand that is much more expensive. My good friend has these tusks on his DRZ. I would say for being less than half the price the tusks are 90% or more of the other bags. Great value for what you get.

I had a pair for my Trans Alp, different brand. I had to make a heat shield to go over my exhaust to give it some stand off. Thanks for sharing

I had an aftermarket exhaust and it dumped out hot gas on my right rear turn signal melting it. I had to mod that too by remounting the turn signal. I still have a 1990 Trans Am with 14,000 miles. I haven’t ridden it in 14 years. If you know anybody interested let me know.

Great Review on the Bags, I just ordered a set on Rocky Mountains Cyber Monday for $139. & Free shipping. Told a friend of mine with a 2009 Vstrom with a rack system and he bought a set too. Hard to beat for that price. Thanks for the honest review.

That's our motto here 😂 it's the only way we know how. I don't know the exact price of the Mosko ones but I would bet it's well over double the price. I'm sure they're great bags too.

Great video….I understand that the outer bag isn’t waterproof maybe water resistant?….have you noticed any water or humidity inside the bags??

Thanks. I would say it's water resistant. I never have noticed any water inside the bags except one time when it poured down rain on a camping trip. But the dry bags kept my stuff dry. When I wash the bike I don't take the bags off and no water gets inside unless you really soak them.
