Makes for a nice little system for not a lot of money, nice one!

For sure! This was around $365 CAD total. Could have been done cheaper, but it really depends on what is available.

I have a super similar m93p setup myself, works amazingly for my work PC. I've got a HD 7770 in it at the moment and an i5 4670. Honestly I'd highly recommend these machines to anyone with a tight budget. They're super capable machines, I can do all my design and editing work with ease.

Nice, that is pretty similar, perhaps slightly better even. I am doing two more with some GTX 750ti GPU's and one with a GT 1050 low profile and i7. I sell them refurbished if I have them and recommend them as well!

@@HaisteComputerRepair They'd be little beast. Question, have you ever put an AIO into one of these machines, let alone seen anyone do it? I had one spare on sitting in my office and was considering throwing it in for fun but those proprietary USB headers stopped me.

@@vonwolfeo Do you mean a water cooler? You could totally do it, it just won't be controlled or monitored via BIOS like other motherboards. Maybe there is a piece of software you can run for that. You could use a SATA powered fan hub/molex combination to power everything. Should definitely upgrade the PSU if you go that route. I don't see what could get in the way. There is a little guide here I referenced once. I should note I haven't installed a water cooled system into a M93p before: landing.coolermaster.com/faq/liquid-cooling-where-do-i-connect-the-fans-and-pump/

@@HaisteComputerRepair Ah yeah, sorry watercooler. Interesting, that totally makes sense though. That's a handy resource, cheers. I've already got an aftermarket air cooler so it's probably not worth my time haha. But it'd be cool to see nonetheless, I'd love to see a stupidly maxed out ThinkCentre, RTX ThinkCentre? haha

@@vonwolfeo I would love to see that too! Maybe I'll be able to build one if I'm lucky.

Is it possible to run rgb fans with this build? And still control fan speed?
@HaisteComputerRepair
@HaisteComputerRepair 2 года назад
You can run RBG fans if you get a Power Supply with Molex connections and some RGB fans with Molex connections. For speed control, you would have to buy a Controller, which you would probably need 3-pin fan cable extensions for. So, I believe it can be done with quite the network of cables. However, with the cheaper RGB fans I buy (UpHere on Amazon), I am unsure if you can control speed very effectively. But, they are good for cooling and don't make a lot of noise.

Hey if youre still wondering why your fan was spinning at full speed when plugged into the pwr_fan pins, its meant for psu fan
@HaisteComputerRepair
@HaisteComputerRepair 2 года назад
I was low key wondering about that. Thanks! I'm wondering how that would work being that the fan in the PSU plugs into the power supply board.
@Ozqu
@Ozqu 2 года назад
@@HaisteComputerRepair Some psu allow you to monitor your fan speed when plugged into that
@HaisteComputerRepair
@HaisteComputerRepair 2 года назад
@@Ozqu Monitor fan speed from PSU? I don't think that is an option with the ThinkCentre series motherboards, but I could be wrong. Have you done this with a ThinkCentre or are you referring to other boards where you can set fan profiles in BIOS/UEFI Utilities?

@@HaisteComputerRepair I just case swapped a m81sff its very similiar to the pc in this video. Some very old power supplies fans had to be connected to the mobo, thats why the pwr_fan header is a thing. And its giving 12V all times because its meant to be used for a psu fan, thats why your fans were spinning at full speed. You can also use the header to power the pump for aio cooler
@HaisteComputerRepair
@HaisteComputerRepair 2 года назад
@@Ozqu Ok, well thanks for the information that is good to know. However, on the M93p motherboard the header is labeled "AUX1_Fan." Any difference that you know of?

good old lenovo, by far the least egregiously proprietary of the big 3 office pc distributors.

Luckily, people have taken the time to make cable adapters for just about everything you need to swap hardware and cases.

@@HaisteComputerRepair Not a lot of products liek that exist for lenovos actually - though thats mostly because lenovos have publically available pinouts that can be easily adjusted for on standard headers. Unfortunately, the front sound panel is one that doesn't seem to have a workaround. If it were me, I'd actually standardize external to internal adapters, so any number of proprietary systems could simply have their front panel daughter boards taken out, hidden in the PSU shroud, and adapted back to motherboard headers. But so far no-ones done that in a reliable way.
