I absolutely love the chassis I personally have 2 of them and one is over 400whp and 15k deep. Keep going it's such a rewarding unique chassis that no one messes with.
That is awesome. Are you running a turbo DE or did you swap to the VE? I’d love to keep mine but it’s gotta go to make room for the next project unfortunately!
I'm the owner who sold my white B14 on Bring A Trailer last year (the new owner is located in Oregon). Unfortunately, the check engine light is a deal breaker for anyone who lives in a state that follows California emissions / does smog checks, so the buying market is limited to either (a) states with no smog check, or (b) someone who is going to convert the car to track duty only. Good luck with the sale!
Oh hey! I must say your b14 on BAT was beautiful! I’m in Oregon all the time I’ll have to keep a look out for it. Yeah I figured anybody from California would pass on the car but here in Washington smog is no longer a thing so I was hoping for a local buyer. Thanks for stopping by and watching my videos!
I know this is over a year ago but I just now watched the video. I own a 97 Nissan 200SX. Had the car for 3 years and put about 50,000 miles on the little dude. The car ran great for a long time. I drive it every day and I live in Phoenix (Brutal weather) Arizona. It gets hot out here. We have had 120 degrees here since the start of summer. Finally it is cooling down. All that heat tortured my car. Using the AC all the time and I was driving back and forth to work in rush hour traffic. The stop and go traffic along with the heat wore my clutch down. A year went by and finally the throw out bearing kicked the bucket while in traffic and I'll tell you, that is no fun. I had to run slow and keep it in second or third. I made it home but it was smelling like burnt brakes all the way home. Other then that, the car is great. I know the car is not worth much. It had a quarter panel replaced long ago and whoever did it I don't think they had much experience in body work. That alone brings the value down. Also the paint is a clear coat that is coming off in layers. It needs paint but with a poorly mounted quarter panel it is not worth painting. It's just a great driving little car with 85,000 miles on it. It was a low mileage car when I bought it. I paid only 400 dollars because in addition to the fixed quarter panel, the drivers side has damage from the woman that owned it before me. The whole panel from the door to the gas door has damage. I think she got stuck in between some parking poles and just kept going. That was the reason I got this so cheap. It sat for years and practically had a tree growing in it. Sunroof was open a little and it sat under a tree. It took a lot of cleaning to get it drive-able. It's not too bad and it drives great so I will use it till it dies which I doubt that is any time soon.
I love mine....Yeah...it can be needy at times, but it's a good little daily driver, fun as hell to drive, and hard to kill! In the process of some body work, priming, and painting right now, cause I recently retired, and now have the time. Keep the car as a back-up if nothing else...It's a classic! :)
It’s definitely a great car I just think I might have got a lemon! Haha. I ended up selling it to a local B14 enthusiast so I’m glad he will take care of it. Thank you for watching!
Popped up on CL in independence OR. Some dude took it in trade randomly for an auto Miata he had for sale. Paid $2300. Paint is not so good... But maybe in better mechanical shape than your green one. Lots of little things to take care of, but paint will be the biggest hurdle. Just watched your buy-back video. That sucks, and I hope you figure it out. Not a fun way to hold on to a car.
If I had to do rear window tint I swear I'd pop the window out to do it. lol. Now if I could just find regulators for the passenger windows on my two 200SX's. Can only find regulators for four door Sentras - and they'll be listed as fitting the 200 too. smh. I did bookmark one a couple of years ago at a Canadian dealer that I should look up again. And finally I used a spray from Autozone with grocery bags 20 years ago on a RWD 200SX hatch I once had to remove tint from the rear quarter windows. Worked pretty well.
As you say these are really rare cars to come across, and they are. as mentioned before to you stay with japanese parts, however when it comes to oil filters do not use Fram. they are bad news for these cars. secondly if you want a more rare collectable keep it ALL OEM as this will incease the value as time goes by. and lastly get rid of the aftermarket intake it dosent do it any good and lowers the value. find a Sentra or 200SX and get the OEM air box for the intake.. i see you bought the car back and if you want a really trick ride change the radio to a 2Din entertainment system W /Navigation. stock radios are just plain junk. this wont decrease the value in this case. its just an up grade for the radio.
That's a great car, and you have it in great shape, you did an awesome job on it, where are you at? Because I'm from California and the engine light may be a problem for passing the smog check.
It is, i recently sold a 96 because it has a problem similar to yours because I swap the engine I sold it in great condition but the light for 800, and i have another one and i need to buy a catalytic converter so it can pass smog check and the one for California is up to 1200 so I put it in no operation I'm not selling another one. I hope you find a good buyer for that beautiful car. By the way my car is same color, I love it.
