I have a 1999 Sentra with just turned at 296000. if you do plug, wires or anything like that use ONLY NGK or Nippondenso.. stay with Japanese and not any other plugs or wires. also use ONLY 5-30 oil at all times. do not change viscosity. the 200 SX is the cousin to the Sentra and most things will always interchangeable. you can also use some parts from an infinity G20. I also recommend to change oil at the 3000 to 3500 intervals. despite what the manual says. you can also use synthetic oil but stick with 5-30 at all times. do not change the suspension at all. it will be wasted money, you can use a strut bars as i did but it helps at times. please dont booger this car up as they are getting to be a classic for OEM look as Mine has. dealers and 3rd party Mechanics love to see these cars in OEM contition and will more than likely be more valuable as time goes. parts are a scarce and rare at times but I have found a few resources for certain parts. and are OEM. you can not get many things here in North America for these cars.
As a cheap coilover I have installed Godspeed MonoSS and they have about 3 months of life under the car…preload left as they came from the manufacture and the dampening set on its softest setting. At the beginning seemed like the classic cheap coilover but after a month I think they settled and they ride fairly decent…not soft as a stock suspension but just stiff enough where is not uncomfortable and supports you well on a turn.
Ah! Owning a 1996 Infiniti G20 with the SR20DE 2.0 that's nearly identical to the 200sx's, I figured out that Nissan implemented OBDII as standard pretty early compared to their competitors. As for that wire on the MAF tube thingy, that is the MAF Sensor itself lol. Probably already stated somewhere in these comments but just had to double check and make sure you knew. really enjoying this series right now!
That’s interesting that they did that! And yep got that wire figured out as you’ll see in later videos haha. Glad you’re enjoying the series and thanks for watching!
loving the content i have a 1998 im dealing with the heater issue i cant figure it out only works on high i replaces the heater resistor thing looks like credit card and i replaces the blower motor now im stumped
With a small engine like the 1.6 or even the 2.0 in mine it’s hard to get noticeable power out of them without putting a turbo on it. You could start with an intake, header, and exhaust which would give it a little extra pep!
welcome to the club, i have a 1996 that's the same as yours. People are surprised when I am keeping up with more modern, faster cars on the mountain pass. So i'd just drive it as-is.
