Its official! RogueFab has started our first full race car build! We are going to take a 1972 BMW 20-02 (E10 chassis) from this ultra-cheap rusted basket case and turn it into a world-class performance car! We will be competing in the 24 Hours of LeMons race with it, so we have to keep it CHEAP! This build will include a very in depth roll cage fabrication and install. In the race series we're targeting (the 24 hours of lemons), the target budget is $500 for the car before safety equipment (cage, seats, wheels/tires, brakes, etc). The racing event is road coarse racing, and is wheel-to-wheel, meaning multiple cars on the track at once... unlike autocross or time trials.
Our plans for this car are very ambitious. We aren't sharing all the details yet, but we will have a LOT of power, HUGE brakes, and it will absolutely have THREE PEDALS! No slush-box auto or flappy-paddle shifting for us. We plan to no-lift-shift this baby into 4th and watch tire smoke in the rear view mirror.
