I actually think it was kinda sweet that Sarah was worried about wasting food. I understand that it's a television show set and it's for a scene, but at least she's being considerate about the fact that it was kind of a waste.
Wonder bread is a waste. Very few nutrients and heavily processed. Treating such bread as a waste and expendable shouldn’t be a big deal. Go volunteer at a food bank or soup kitchen or donate 100gs to so a homeless shelter can get fresh produce or hire a chef.
Regardless of how she was to work with, she was and still is a great actress. And honestly in all the behind the scenes footage I have seen, I have never seen her being difficult. Talking about wasting bread isn't being difficult, it's being concerned about wasting food. Honestly, it was only a rehearsal...
I take your point, and it's a good one, but if you haven't seen examples of smg being difficult then you are clueless. Look: what you are reading in the preceding thread is an inevitable accumulation of frustration (from knowledgeable fans) over the hype and outright BS promoted by the production staff, which affected lives on this show. Granted, those fans who try to live in a fantasy world, thinking that their favorite character is all noble and holy, will reach a painful conclusion that their feet-of-clay actress is not that character, but that's their problem for fantasizing. The rest of us just don't appreciate the usual lies handed to us as though we are idiots who don't know anything about how shallow and false the entertainment culture is, and can't recognize lies when we hear them. Me? I love the show, and that's as far as it goes.Otherwise I try to live in the real world.
I really don't understand how saying that there are starving people in the world and that we shouldn't waste food can be classed as a bitchy comment? If anything, that shows she's a thoughtful, moral person. Actors aren't just there to do what you tell them, they aren't puppets, they are people, and if they don't like something about the shoot, they have the right to voice it.
OMG I LOVE SMG!!! She doesn't want to waste the bread. She is too awesome!! A millionaire doesn't want to waste a $3 loaf of bread! LOVE HER!! And I know what people are seeing when they think she is being rude but I certainly didn't see it that way. I imagine she has had a long day (as has the rest of the crew) and it is an emotional scene she is probably preparing and like others have pointed out, she needs to keep her position and hair and all that jazz. LOVE HER! Bring Back Ringer !!!
I don't understand the comments about Sarah? She looked and sounded fine and not rude at all. She made a genuine comment about wasting bread just for rehearsal is wrong, how is that being rude? and for the hand thing I heard nothing of the sort as well her and Anthony were fine together? people on this website can be so stupid.
She's clearly staying in character so it's easy to pick up from where she left off when they start filming. Any actor would do it. She wasn't being rude at all!
i could watch hours & hours of these on set home videos! that whole bread debacle was really cute, and it's cool to see how much thought they put into the smallest details
LMAO @ Alyson Hannigan, when they're talking about how not to waste the bread/jam, at 10.37 you hear her say "Put green screen here then you can just CGI it"
i like this - it lets people no the BORING truth behind being a tv actor. early mornings, might not actually go on set till 4pm and you're expected to wait around just like this even when they're not filming - i love my job . com
I just love how people hate on Sarah obviously Sarah's a very caring person. Everything about her seems nice and tons of people love working with her. People are just haters is all poor Sarah. And the bread complaints were true, they shouldn't have to keep rehearsing when no one's shooting nor is it even close time to start shooting. She's just wasting bread trying to stay in character because that's what they're told to do but she doesn't want to and really would like to stop. And honestly I don't think she likes Anthony Head either which I don't think she's the only one. Also about the Library scene duh she's gonna be like that her character has lost her powers due to selfish "watchers" who act like this whole scene was necessary. And no one wants someone touching their ear. My god people are so fucking ridiculous.
@nick12345304 : I think you're mistaken. We can barely hear what SMG is saying, and we don't even see her face, nothing tells us she's being rude. As for Tony Head, they're just preparing the scene, I see nothing wrong here.
It was only a line read through, they weren't actually shooting, and the only thing I heard her complain about was wasting bread, which I think is a very good point. Don't see the big deal to be honest.
oh man this is outstanding! who filmed all this, and why didn't they film every episode! I would totally pay to have a collection of every eps behind the scenes!
SMG is into method, so no surprise that she doesn't talk much on set. You can see Tony Head is still moving like Giles between takes. Also, how creepy is it watching this footage from when I was in grade school, and now everybody's old including me? :O
sarah was always a true and prepared professional; this is why joss loved her so much bc she didn't waste time horsing around -- she came in did her work and was pleasant w/all the ppl behind the scenes. hannigan got jealous of gellar over the years - which is sad bc they were bff's -- james/spike adores smg, sd nothin but great stuff 'bout her.
hey once again thanks you kick ass, have u got any more of these behind the scenes clips, i would kill to see one with david and sarah, they were suppose to have great chemisty together, plus being a bangel fan that would make my year :)
It's not that Sarah is bitchy or that she doesn't like Anthony, she is on her mark and it is harder for her to get back to where she needs to be and positioned in the right way because of her hair... there is so much that goes into it. She is in character. She isn't being a bitch, she is being professional.
It’s dirty bread that’s been touched by everyone on the set. If bread fell on the floor of a grocery store or was crushed in the bag, they throw it away too. In fact in grocery stores they throw tons of produce and products away, and if an employee eats it they’re immediately fired due to health violations… that they don’t want to be liable for. Sarah never worked in food or retail to understand this. Her ignorance.
Always great to see behind the scenes stuff. I've read about SMG being a bitca (ha, Xander) but she seems very professional here and is worried about the bread wastage. She even improvises by making fun of Xander's shirt.
Often tv stars and movie stars schedule are so jam pack it is impossible to fill other commitments. In the case of SMG was filming Scooby Doo the second the second BTVS was wrap. I'll give you another example. Leonardo Dicaprio did not do any promoting for the Titanic release this year because he had a prior commitment that he could not get away from. Django Unchained.
maybe, just maybe that's because she filmed scooby day after filming last episode? working on two continents keeps you from social occasions. besides she never wanted to be a celebrity, that's probably why she can do so much 'normal' things many other stars can not.
I think most people on have no idea what goes into with filming. I worked a few films myself so I know how much it goes into filming. It is not pretty as people thinks it is
She definitely says what I said, but you're right she is conversing with them prior so the actual context isn't too clear. I think a lot of it may also be due to the fact that the scene they're about to shoot shows Buffy very vulnerable and upset, so if SMG is in that zone ready as the actress we know she is, she may be a little off. Nevertheless though Tony does seem a bit peeved, but I guess it's probably not personal, and I mean they used to shoot at 2am on that show, I'd be cranky too
Haha ok?! Well considering she is the star of the show, and like I said they were just reading over lines whilst the set was being prepared, so not wasting time, don't think that would happen do you! People are so quick to judge others, when you don't know the situation or the context of something.
She probably tired. Actors and crew members spend a lot of hours on the set. I was crew member on a film and we did not done until 4 or 6am and we have get back on set like 11am.
This episode was intense... Zachary Kralik was one of the darkest villains ever featured on BtVS, or Angel for that matter. "My mother was a person with no self-respect of her own, so she tried to take mine, ten years old and she had the scissors, you wouldn't believe what she took with those..." AND the same actor played Rack in Season 6. Man, he was creepy.
Actually I'm gonna have to side with @cuntscab555. I've heard several cast members refer to Sarah as "professional" in interviews. James, Eliza, Alyson and Joss. Even Emma Caulfield made a joke about it in her webseries "Bandwagon". Someone asks her what it was like working w/ SMH and she pauses for a long time and says "She's very professional." They never mention how "nice" she was or say she was "fun to be around." It wasn't that Alyson was jealous b/c most of the cast felt the same way.
I saw Sarah's bad behavior on set firsthand and she was like that consistently so it wasn't just a one or two time thing. Even now, her friends say "It's sad she was interpreted as a diva," rather than act like the entire thing was made up. Sarah used to be so condescending to the crew, always cutting them off at the knees or complaining about them, like she was in charge -- which is how she tries to justify it today ("I was trying to keep everyone on track") but in reality, she was an actress -- not a creator, director, showrunner, or producer. However, people trying to see that Sarah in this clip are not going to find it. She was awful in season six on ... this was in season three AND she knew she was being filmed for a behind-the-scenes scenario, if that bad behavior was even present back then. Nothing in this footage is indicative of how she behaved, with which people from the series deemed her "difficult."
I've seen Emma,Danny strong and Seth and crew members say she wasn't like that, so it's kinda confusing? What did you do on set, where you there the whole run? Honestly, I'm just interested, thanks.
Looking from a proffesional prespective - SMG simply can't say "don't touch my hands" to the make-up artist. It's just like saying "stop acting" to an actor/ress. Also, I don't seem to hear anything like that. As @Ultragalactic said you are making stuff up.
There are starving people we shouldnt waste food....but maybe we could spend some money on cgi sandwiches ...oh lord 🤣 guess her heart was in the right place!
Especially when the food was touched and dirty from their hands. It was a prop like anything else that the production pays for. The money used for their makeup or paychecks could have went to food for the poor. Lol
I love how the guy who plays Quentin is so distant. He just basically avoids everyone on the set at that point. And I love how Anthony keeps moving around, touching things, leaning against things etc. lol :D And for some reason, it seems like Sarah doesn't like Anthony. I don't know why, but it seems like it.
As a huge Buffy fan, it was sad to see some of the stuff in the first clip. SMG says to the make-up artist quite coldly "don't touch my hands" when she briefly uses her fingers to dab in some make-up, seems annoyed at the other woman for fussing over her. Anthony Head even rolls his eyes a couple of times, and gets mad when SMG tells him off for touching her ear, and later gossips with one of the sound guys about her. Hope this was just a one-off and not indicative of their working relationship.
The kitchen scene was the most unprofessional thing I'd ever seen. She kept interrupting and breaking character not only during her dialogue but Nick's as well. She kept going on about bread; whining about how they were wasting it, "can't we give it to some some people... there are people starving." when everyones hands had already been all over the bread, any idiot knows you don't take left over food from the production and go hand it out the the homeless. She was complaining about everything.
LOL; the most unprofessional thing you've ever seen? Who are you, Steven Spielberg? You're not an authority on anything. Get off the soapbox; you are literally insane.
@@madsketcher LOL You’re responding to someone who wrote a comment nearly 10 years ago and probably hasn’t been on their account since or even remembers commenting on this video. Plus they’re 100% correct. When working with food, it’s forbidden to eat anything due to liability and litigation. You will be fired from a grocery store if you try to eat or take home food they’re going to throw out, even if it’s in “perfect looking condition” due to the possibility of being sued from getting sick. Before calling out a decade old comment, at least try to have some clue on the subject.😂
