Big thanks to Ollie from Outhaus Dave and Matt for coming up for the weekend and showing me loads of new kit.
After a winter of using modern overland style gear it was so nice to see the pace slowed down and traditional camping gear get used.
I definitely need to use the swag soon and do some old school campfire cooking.
More will come on the power bank/solar generator as I add it to an upcoming overland trailer build

Makes me really happy to see Aussie gear being used in the old Country. It is not cheap but thats for a bloody good reason. Its the cats whiskers, the dogs danglers and will last a lifetime. My swag is 15 years old and still in great nick, my Oztent is 5 years old, again, looks brand new after heavy use. Those combined with three ex ADF waterproof transport cases that have their own dividers inside and you are set for life. All up, 2K AUD. About 1300 pounds. Not bad for a lifetime of pleasure and luxury in the bush. The rest is just admin and your own choices of food/piss and pass the time gadgets and gizmos. I think its better to save up for a few months to get the good gear, like you boys have. Makes sense. Great vid Rich. Keep em coming lad.

+1 for the Cadac safari, best bit of kit we bought for the family camping trips if space isn’t an issue. We even Chuck ours in the truck for beach day bbqs.

@@Bugoutvehiclesuk rule of thumb - any thing that produces heat uses more power (I’m sure you know that, just putting it out there) She complains of hunger now - I’ve seen hungry people but for the sake of peace and quiet I’ll say nothing 🤐

I've got an idea why not produce a single swag which can double up as a hammock, surely with a bit of modification it could be done.

Fantastic channel, not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but open the end window when rolling up a swag, keeping the netting closed. This will stop you forcing air through the stitches and eventually compromising the water proofing around the joints. Something I learnt to my cost. But I still to this day rate a swag beyond anything else I've used other than a poncho/tarp. I also put my poncho from the front poles over my swag and strap it down in harsh weather. Using the poncho to stop water entering the sides when the front is up.👍

I first saw the Palmerston on your channel and had to buy one, now you've just gone and shown me a nice selection of other SWAG's. Trying to decide which to buy as sleeping in the Palmerston with both of my kids (11 and 9 years old) gets a little cramped. The kids can have their own SWAG soon. Great video as always with plenty of information, keep them coming Rich 👍

Great video again Rich. Been using swags for years, but the weather here is it bit more forgiving (Westrern Australia). Very impressed with the powerbank, must admit I miss my capachino when camping. Look forward to the next video.

I can't function with out two double espressos in the morning, that powerbank is going to have to be a purchase for the camper. I reckon I wont even bother with a fixed van electrical system. As long as my beer is cold and my coffee is hot I'll be happy and this will do the job.

Nice video. I really like the power station. I've been trying to find one that is 220v instead of the normal 110v here so I can bring it with me when we go to the Philippines. There are brown outs there all the time and I'm not crazy about everyone knowing we have power because of the diesel generator running. To bad they don't make a swag bed with and air-conditioner hooked up to it. Now that would be swag camping lol. Sorry I was trying to be a little funny but it would be nice for those hot summer nights with no breeze. I bet that power station could handle it. Thank you so much for sharing your weekend. Yea it’s a big unit. I was surprised when it did so well with the coffee machine. I did see there is now an aircon unit that has a battery on it.
