New subscriber here. Also a nurse. Met my wife here in US. We started our youtube journey. Hopefully our videos will become successful like yours. You are our inspiration. ❤
AteGi, you're a great storyteller and editor, plus your voice is soothing pa. Glad I found your channel! Share more of your life lessons or realizations. Blessings to you! 😇🙏
Been living in US for 50+ years I consider this country as my home no urge to live in PI .I have a feeling of not being safe due to a lot of people take advantage of others for the money, they even kill to take what they want.Since I live in northern CA I enjoy the weather .Like you I planned my retirement so no problem financially. For those who didn’t planned well maybe has no choice than go back home.I’m very thankful the Lord placed me in CA
I agree. Been living in this country for almost 40 yrs now. The convenience of life is incomparable. I can visit Philippines but not live there. I visit and I struggle if my stay is prolonged. Be smart with money and retirement and you can afford life in the US after retirement.
Came across ur “retiring in the Phil’s” video then here- galing galing mo nmn AteGi 🎉 ur video presentation, ur content ay sapul na sapul - parents n grownup kids 🤣 empty nesters talaga in our retirement years - tapos buhay America, ganyan talaga - so tara na, uwi na sa Pinas ❤
I wanted to start a vlog with the same vibe as your channel but my wife doesn't want the family to be exposed. Looking at your content though and the way you do the shots so that you're able to show them without really exposing them, I realize it's doable. I think I really will start my channel. Thank you for the inspiration.
@queuetipsy5112 Go for it! My kids are shown in some clips. I don’t mind. They’re in so much social media platforms anyway. It’s important that your wife agrees, tho 😊 But I hope you’ll be able to start. I read this somewhere: “There’s no greater suffering than denying what you’re trying to say. And there’s no greater feeling than letting the stories inside you spill out. Don’t deny the world of your contribution.” Hope that helps. My best to you.
Hi Ate Gi, glad to found your video. I really enjoy watching your content very soothing. I myself is a nurse here in the Bay Area, nakakarelate ako sa buhay mo..hope to see more great content from you. 😊
ang ganda ng narration. higit sa lahat, very humble and down to earth po kayo kaya napakasarap panoorin. i hope na dumami pa ang sub at viewers ninyo. ❤❤❤
New subscriber here! I love your vlog, mala Charo ang Voice very calm, i work mostly from home but goes in the office 4 times a month sa office. We also plan to retire sa Phil hopefully in 2 years..your vlog helps me validate some agam agam i have hehe. Keep posting po!
Wow, Very Nice Video. Ang ganda ng Bahay nyo po Pang lfestyle magazine ang dating. Parang ang sarap ng buhay dyan, 😂. I just hope one day, makarating din ako ng Amerika.
We LOVE that you pray, specially the rosary, people normally stop praying when they're so busy. 🙏🏼 After watching a couple of your vlogs, we feel that we have lots in common as we also have a Labrador (inuna talaga ang aso😂), my mom is a Nurse in Chicago, our son just turned 17 & daughter 15 and noticed some of your shots in Evia where we hang out sometimes. Your vlog has that sense of familiarity that we can relate to. Just to cut this short, we like your vibe, Ate. We liked, just commented and most importantly subbed. 🫶🏼💕👍🏼
Oh, Anong name ng Labrador nyo? Our dog’s name is Mochi. He’s 7 years old. Thank you so much for your comments, like and sub. It means a lot. Thanks for watching!!😊💜❤️
@@official_ate_gi_channel Mochi looks so cute. 🐕🦺💕 Ours po is 3 years, Jacob, but we lovingly call him in his Filipino nickname, Cobo. 💕🐶 Have a great labor day po Ate. Keep posting so we have lots to watch. 🫶🏼💕👍🏼

Hi Ate Gi, I’m glad I found your channel. I find watching your videos inspiring. I admire the calm voice. Nursing has changed me after working bedside for years. I started when I was 20. I’m now 32. God bless. Please continue the videos coming
Love your videos ate Gi! Your narration is really captivating and soothing to hear, actually pwede nyo na po palitan si Charo Santos sa MMK 🤩 More power po looking forward for more uploads!
"Accept the things you cannot change". This resonates with me. Surely, you've done an extensive planning and research about retiring in Pi than this video can cover. At 57, I'm now thinking of going back. I am already on my planning stage of retirement. 'Been here in the US for 30 + years now. Life's too short to not keep reaching for your heart's desires. I am aware of the challenges I may come across in living there but with careful planning and positive spirit etc, I'm sure things can be more tolerable. After all, life's is too short to not be accepting. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hello, I chanced upon your vlog and just like you, my husband and I are FilAms with plans to retire in Manila. Moved to the US some 27 years ago and came over with just a suitcase. By the grace of God was able to raise a family, learned how to do household chores, put a career on hold (because childcare is very expensive and had several company moves through hubby's work), relied on each other and built a good life together. You are right, there are many things we love about "buhay America" because "it makes sense" such as how efficient things are done here. But there are also many intangible qualities that makes us think more and more about moving back. Please continue to make more vlogs. Enjoyed listening to you -- there is something about your voice that is very soothing and genuine.
Thank you po!! I am so very.relax listening to your voice!! Angelic and I can feel your heart in it....just so honest and non judgemental attitude...mabuhaybpo kayo!!
@agnescorpus3863 awww..! thank you for your kind words. we are blessed to have the flexibility to retire in the philippines, or here sa states. swerte natin, no? but you are right, there are those intangible things that we miss sa bayan natin. thanks for watching!
Hello po,I'm still on the process of applying for citizenship. I am so glad I stumbled on your videos.Yung retiring sa Pinas po talaga ang naka catch ng attention ko because that's my plan. Naiiyak po ako kasi na miss ko mom ko sanyo, she passed nung 17 plng ako. I don't know I feel like your a mom nagtuturo skin how to live life here and how to plan.Tapos ang sweet ng sweet ng boses nyo po. Thank you! Already a sub and looking forward on more videos.❤
Hi! I am so sorry that you lost your mom so early. Be strong and know that she’s interceding for you. Our family and friends daw who die intercede for us, along with the saints. Enjoy your journey in the States. Please keep your good Filipino values intact. Thanks for watching❤️❤️
Hello po Tita Gigi! I am new to your channel! Love your voice po, very soothing! And love your contents po, simple pero insightful! More videos po sana on tips how to better save for retirement! ♥️
Hello! The number one advise is to spend less than what you make. And to invest your money and not just put them in a savings account. Automatically putting 15% of your income in a retirement investment account is key to building wealth. If you find it hard to save 15% right away, start at 5% and then add 1% every 6 months. You won't feel the incremental difference, but it will put you on a good track to saving more for retirement. Hope that helps.
I LOVE your content, Gi. I’m retiring soon too after working in the same hospital for 24 years, UC IRVINE Medical Center, love my job so much, hate to say goodbye. I wish I’m only 50 y/o . I have only 1 child who is trying to become independent in NYC where she finished college. So hard to leave my daughter behind, really hard. But I want her to focus on her tomorrow and not taking care of us. I want her to soar high for her future, but very painful to leave her behind. Another adjustment when we retire in our country, but I have to be strong. Good luck to all of us retiring to our country.
I hear you. It's hard to leave our kids behind. But they'll be carving a life of their own, which we have prepared them for. My best to you! Thanks for watching!
My kids were born and grew up here but they love the Philippines and would like to visit once or twice a year. They feel that life in america is so routine, fast paced which makes life here too short. My parents in Philippines were born rich not me lol so whenever they go they feel pampered by my relatives, parents and friends. So we ended up purchasing few properties and they love it…
Agree.. very soothing voice… great content.. just wondering if you consider relocating to Marana, AZ.. new houses here are cheap and maybe you can still continue to work online.. I’m RN too but stay at home watching my 2 little children.. it’s relax here.. not too chaotic like California.. my husband work at Northwest Medical center.. not too busy compared to CA.. we came from southern OC though we missed the beach.. so we drive 5 hours to be in San Diego for vacation.. we like National City SD.. it’s like I’m in the Philippines dami Filipino stores.. I’m not a real estate agent.. just making sure all your options are on the table before moving to the Philippines.. in AZ.. you can bring Tekla! 😅
I am a kindergarten teacher here in the US for 9months. My contract is 3-5yrs. I save and live frugally here. I will definitely retire in the Philippines after the program soon.
Ang ganda po ng concept ng vids nyo۰ parang diary۰ may mababalik balikan kids and grandkids nyo pati great grandkids nyo makikilala kayo thru ur vids۰ Napakapleasant ng voice nyo۰ parang nanunuod ako ng movie ng star cinema, may naration 😁
Ma'am Gi, new subscriber po ako. Sobrang informative po ng videos niyo at napaka-eloquent niyo po. Curious lang po ako, yung properties niyo po ba sa pinas ay declared sa U.S? Nasa UK po kami now at magmu-move sa U.S soon.
I love your video. Naka-relate ako. Same sa inyo, my husband and I are both nurses working here in Toronto. We’re planning to do the same and that is to retire sa atin. There’s no place better than home. I am 56 and 2 more yrs siguro. Medyo malaki ang difference ng pension kahit 2yr difference lang. Can’t wait na talaga. Just wondering your age.
Hello po Ate Gi. I'm a medical lab scientist here in the U.S. I was already a college graduate when I came. I completed my graduate school here and met my American husband here na rin. I have been here for almost 20 years. Like you po, I want to retire sa Pinas but hesitant po ang asawa ko. He has been there and enjoyed our family trip sa Pinas but he told me parang mahirapan daw sya pag dun kami tumira. My Mom and Dad are both retired na and nasa Pinas. They lived din here sa U.S. dati. Now, they are enjoying life sa Pinas and I want our family to spend and enjoy time with them while they are still healthy and able. More importantly, I want to care for them when they reach the point na need full-time care. Our kids love it there sa Pinas, gusto nga nila dun mag aral. Pero yung asawa ko ang problema hindi pa sya convinced na doon kami mag retire.
Hanga ako sa Inyo magasawa…you are living a simple life in the US..unlike other Filipino nurses, bili agad ng magagarang bahay to impress kababayan and relatives Sa US at Phil…
Hello Ate Gi new subscriber po.yan din po ang plan naming mag asawa i am 53 yrs old and plan po mag retired na 2026 early retirement po even though wala pa akong makuha sa SSS natin dito i have to wait na mag 62 ako before i can file pension pero ok lang lahit kaunti at least ma enjoy mo ang buhay while we can pa.my husband is in long terms dissability so he said we have enough money for our living in the Pinas as simple living lang.Like you din po we have a house already and 1 car so kaunting ipon na lang po kami until 2026 for emergency preparation.i am excited watching your video ang keep motivated to our goal.have a nice day po.❤❤❤
Hi Ate Gi. I am a nurse too here in US looking for work at home as returement nurse job. Pwede po ba malaman what kind of nursing job you do as an option for me. Thank you.
Working from home is great. As you stated no commute, no expenses for fuel or wear and tear on my car. Been working from home since 2000 as a network engineer since 1990 for large corporations throughout the years as an employee. I don't like working as a contractor you miss out on bonuses, 401K, pension, etc. Sure hourly is great by the time you pay for your benefits med, dental, etc it works out about less than being an employee. It looks like you live in the San Fran Bay area. I live in San Fran, Antioch, and then moved to South Cal in 2006 to current.
I do toxic exposure screening, patient education. It's a rare specialty. Good luck on your search for a WFH job. The opportunities for remote work for nurses is opening up. Thanks for watching.
May I know what your investments are along the way your journey. From what I understood, you guys are renting kaya I'm wondering kung saang investments niyo dinala pera niyo knowing na wala kayong mortgage. Thank you
We do the most boring investment ☺️. We just have index funds that follow the S&P 500. Plus we have Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) because we’re government employees. We contribute regularly and benefit from dollar cost averaging. Thanks for watching!!
Hello po Ate Gi! I would like to ask if you can make a vlog about the US nurses pension someday. I'm turning 40yo next year and just started to think forward. I am late to kickstart but I know it is still doable 😊 How much is my minimum pension if ever I work for 20yrs dyan sa US kaya? Thanks po 😊
Social security is what provides all American workers their "pension" when they retire. It will depend of the amount of years you've contributed and the salary you made. I started saving at 40. so hindi ka pa huli. search you tube videos that talk about social security. thanks for watching!
I was a kid when we migrated in the US .now I’m 56 so US is my home base not my hometown but I’m living good here making good 6 figures and my pension is more than enough plus SS and 401k..so I’m good retiring here and still can travel and be with my kids and grandkids
My neighbors have so many properties in the Philippines, pero bumalik sila dito kasi nahihirapan sila sa atin dahil ang tagal ng mga services. MD visits and doing bank transactions. She said her husband could not urinate and she took him to St Luke’s. Dapat the solution was to insert a catheter to drain the bladder according to her nephrologist daughter. And gusto yasta gawin is i dialysis. My mom was hospitalized too and her BP was very low. The cardiologist gave her norepinephrine to increase the BP. I asked to recheck her Hemoglobin kasi it was dropping before they came. They had a false reading sa ED, he did not do it again even if we had requested it. If my sister didn’t come home from London and made a fuzz about it, my mom would not have recovered after receiving blood. So we are really torn right now kung saan kami. We have kids and we are very close. We are torn.
I'm sorry to hear about your mom's hospital experience. I hope she has completely recuperated now. Hoping for what's best for your closely knit family. Thanks for watching.
Mine are starting to have their own plans and definitely they will. The idea of this happening already feels lonely but Michelle Obama is right, we, as parents only responsible in making them ready in the reality of life.
